With a black motorcycle I wanted to be better seen in the dark winter days. The Alpinestars is a respected marque who seem to well understand the needs of motorcyclists. I read lots of reviews and find the delivered product as researched. A close but not tight fit. Arms are fine for me but probably a squeeze for a muscular person, also a bit long (but not a problem). FIrst thing I noticed in use was how warm it is on a cold day with the lining in place. Very impressed. Was completely dry in light rain, not yet tested in a deluge but first impressions are promising. Used for daily commute of about 56 km round trip plus fun at the weekends. Good zips, adjustable sleeve tension, waist belt and skirt cord.Works great to keep the cold air out. Plenty of pockets, Velcro security is good so far after a couple of weeks of use. I will probably upgrade the armour at the back, only a "place holder" is supplied. I look like a highlight pen in this and am delighted to be so. From my experience so far I recommend the product and the supplier for delivering so quickly a product that matches the description perfectly. I am an XL in my summer jacket, leather jacket and the same in this. I will continue to favour Alpinestars (I have the same pair of Goretex boots since more than 10 years - perfect), although I have no connection to the company. Just good products made with riders in mind and at a reasonable price (IMO).

Sizing is an issue: I originally bought the XL (6', 220 lb male, who normally wears XL on everything). The XL was much too snug at the chest and around the arms. The next size, XXL, fit me much better but was maybe just a bit too big.It looks great and the shoulder and elbow protection feels adequate (although not great). It is NOT a 4 season jacket. Even without the thermal it would be okay in the fall (in the south) and spring (in the south) but it still is very warm, which was great in the fall in the north. The air vents do very little.Overall is a very nice jacket though. It takes a bit longer to ship than other items, but I thought it was a great purchase. Although at $270,it was maybe a bit more expensive than other alternatives that would work well.

This thing is great. Plenty of pockets, venting and cinches for personalized fitment. I also opted for the *nucleon* chest armor inserts, and though they’re a bit stiff, you can’t feel them when the jacket is on and zipped up. So far I’ve been taking in out in modest weather, probably mid-30s at the low end, and I can’t feel any wind chill on my torso whatsoever. One of my rides included a light drizzle and as expected, the waterproof nature of the garment held up. I have not had an opportunity to test the jacket in hot weather, but I may update when summer rolls around. If you’re looking for a mid-range option with good features, get the Andes V2.

I wear lots of Alpinestars gear, so getting the jacket in size M was comparable to all my other gear. It fits true to size.Works really well for an upright seating position, comfortable, and vented well enough to work in the summer heat. Technical solutions for venting etc. are well designed and provide good air flow.It does NOT come with a back protector, not even cheap foam stuff. You will need to purchase one separately or swap it from another jacket (may not fit, etc.) Other armor is totally ok and will hold up in a crash just as well as the rest of the jacket. I added chest protectors, jacket has pockets for them.

Great fit... I'm 5' 7" and a Large in most clothing and I'm a Large in this jacket. Its a snug fit with the liner (& back protector) fitted and with me wearing a t-shirt+jumper but not snug to the point of being restrictive. The liner is easily removed and for a daily commute of only a few miles it's not need for warmth. There is no back protector with the jacket but the RST Level 2 fits perfectly and far cheaper than the Alpinestar version. There is a zip in the tail for attaching trousers and loads of pockets that are accessible in gloves. Overall a great protective jacket that is waterproof.

Overall this seems like it will be a great jacket for the price. I just wish it had more durable fabric in key areas like the elbows. The liner is sure to be warm for winter riding here in NC, and with it out, it will be a great fall jacket for when it's time to put the mesh away for the season. The vents seem to work well to cool the body when its hotter in the afternoon commute home than with them closed on chilly mornings. I docked one star for the lack or reinforcement in key areas. I believe it would protect me in a get off, but it might not fare well for reuse afterwards.

Just got it in today. I'm happy with the overall quality of materials and workmanship. It looks and feels great. Adjustable at the forearm, biceps, waist, and neck. As far as sizing. I wear large so I ordered large. It fits well but has little room to spare. The arms are snug. Not uncomfortably. But if you have large biceps or are on the line between large and xl. I recommend the xl. Plenty of pockets, zippers work with gloves. Bottom line, I'm very well pleased. If I have a problem with durability I'll edit my review.

Shipping was ahead of schedule. The next morning was in the low 20 so I got to test it's warmth on my hour commute. It is very wam, wind proof, and suppsed to be waterproof which is the only one I haven't tested. The jacket is very well put together, has plenty of storage and is very nice looking. I could not be happier with my puchase.... Update, just came in from a hr ride in 40 mph winds at 35 degrees. There was no buffeting the jacket is very sreamlined for a somewhat heavy coat. I was very comfortable!

Was going to buy a Klim, but just didn’t want to spend the money, so took a chance on this. I typically like Alpinstar, but was nervous about size. I had got a medium awhile back, but was too small. I’m 6 foot, 190 pounds, medium frame, and the large fits perfect. Nice features, and is really warm. May be too warm for summer use, don’t know yet. Will need to upgrade armour, as it feels cheap. But jacket features are nice.

I would relocate some of the velcro patches and tweak some of the adjusters but overall a well thought-out and well made jacket. Do budget for some upgraded armor inserts though. While the shoulder and elbow inserts are Class1 and "OK" there's only perforated place-holder foam in the chest and back slots. Good selection of pockets and vents. The rear 'kidney pocket' is great for picking up some supplies on the way home.

I'm 64 years old I've been riding motorcycles since I've been five so my latest motorcycle crave is adventure bike riding and the Andes Alpinestars is way more than I expected the jacket is comfortable warm waterproof just the perfect size I enjoy the jacket if you're out there and you're 5'5 or 5'6 this is the jacket for you maybe we'll meet on the dirt roads one day so till then Happy trails

Oh man not only the main zipper failed but I got trapped inside a very hot jacket. Was a battle to remove and once off even with a Leatherman I could not make the zipper go down. Baffled both my friend and I for over 10 minutes. I loved this jacket until that moment. Honestly, I knew from day 1 from this front zipper would be a problem. My replacement is this: Fieldsheer Men's Quattro Jacket

Nice quality riding jacket for the price. Can’t say much about the durability at this early stage but I like the quality, fit and look of the jacket. I am 6’ 2” and 190 lbs and originally ordered a large but it was too tight with the thermal liner. Returned for an XL and it fits perfectly. Shipping times were good, the exchange was easy, I would recommend this seller.

This is a great buy! I’m very pleased with the quality of this jacket. I’ve ridden in temps from the 80’s down to the low 40’s and believe with the right layers underneath you could be comfortable into the 20’s. I haven’t meet in any major precipitation yet but it’s shed everything so far. The zippers are properly sealed. The sizing runs small so bump up a size.

I am more than completely pleased with this jacket and it has surpassed my expectations. High quality construction, abundant features and details, value for my money and fit. I ordered a small and was afraid it would be too small. It wasn't. It fit properly for me both riding and walking. Thanks for fast shipping MX South (Jeff) and Amazon!
