I had a few problems with install, but it was my own fault, just make sure you don't uninstall the demo versions WHILE installing the full versions, I found this out the hard way.Inside it contains:Age of Empires IIIAge of Empires: War Chiefs expansionI was a little disappointed to discover it didn't come with Asian Dynasties, but again, I guess it was my fault for not thoroughly checking.Graphics/ Performance:It runs great on my system with Shadows set to low, the graphics are still beautiful, considering my outdated rig, everything else on maximum, here are my specs:ATI 46501GB RAMIntel Pentium 4 3.2GhzThis game ran amazingly well considering it's an RTS and they don't usually handle well on single core CPUs,but wow, was I impressed, I usually get 60+ fps during the start, my framerate drops throughout the game as I build more and more, and the game becomes cluttered, but even then, the lowest I've seen it drop to is 35 fps, which is still brilliant.Gameplay Review:The game, and expansion, was fun and featured several campaigns which I enjoyed greatly, The Home town was also a great implementation, along with Ensemble Studios giving perks and disadvantages to each playable Civilisation, this caused me to think more about tactics, which involved logical planning, which was extremely clever. The Skirmish mode was also fun. It is the feature I've used most in this game, You choose a Civ and fight various other Civs and customise your Cities through experience earned, You can play pre made maps or make your own using the Scenario editor, which, Like all of the 'Age' games, is fantastic, you can build anything from large forts, garrisoning hundreds, even thousands of troops, or you can build a small village, containing settlers and resources, all this achievable on your custom made maps, where you can make ANYTHING you see in the campaigns and throughout the rest of the game.My only complaints are that in some places, it has been dumbed down from Age of Empires II, but more than makes up for it in others, also, apart from visuals, the combat hasn't improved much, my horde of 100 British musketeers and cannon still have to halt to kill a few measly settlers, rather than just charging through, slaughtering them with their bayonets/ swords.Overall:9/10My favourite Age of Empires game and RTS to date.

Age of Empires Warchiefs is yet another spectacular addition to the Age of Empires franchise. The playability is great, the historical emphasis on each tribes type of warfare based on their terrain and technology is a huge plus to history geeks, and the the new units and updated technology for the old civilizations is fun. I will say I was less than pleased with the tavern. In the late game, most European AI opponents resort to simply buying highly effective, yet expensive mercs from the tavern which makes Europeans even harder and allows them to focus on one resource, gold. Buying mercs eliminates the use of a countries trade mark units which makes the game kind of blah. The only other major negative is the AI's emphasis on cannon. When played in hard or expert mode, the AI like to field huge amounts of cannon. I love explosive as much as the next guy, but to much cannon makes for the game to be really lame when your huge armies are constantly being decimated by armies of Cannons. This is especially true for Aztecs (which is my team) because they have no cavalry or artillery that can work as anti-cannon, defensive forces. The game is an A+ regardless and will render long hours I exciting play.

Firstly, i shall comment on the ones talking about actual history relating to this game. This...is...a...game...if it was to include every single detail of history it would take 10 years to make and would cost hundreds of pounds. Instead its a good looking game with more detail than the older versions and cinematically intended. The storyline is interesting and finally breaches the point of the civilized and modern era.We all love the games where we can build masses of swords and shields and clash them in a 100+ warrior battle, but others also love the rifles and cannons of he western wars. This game offers a unique opportunity to use a variety of eras, cultures, locations and all have their own personalities. This game takes a while to complete and endless hours of multiplayer,it is a strategy game so if the opposition keeps beating you...strategize, work around it like everyone else. The graphics are better, the music is better, the ambiance is ten times better and over all its rather old now but still one of my favorites on the PC.Highly recommended but a rather good computer is needed for this to run smoothly without problems of lag or computer difficulties.

The campaign part of the game is well put together, especially the option of how hard to play it: easy, moderate, hard. An interesting story unfolds so well worth playing. Sources of gold, wood and food has to be mined/harvested so economic conditions play a part. The skirmish setup is very good, random maps or choose which one to play, how hard to play it, choice of how many NPC's to play with and against, option to record game enabling the player to watch there actions play out in film or movie mode.I usually ally myself with a NPC so we are fighting a pair of enemies. NPC's submit sarcastic remarks, NPC's take decisions on themselves. In one game the NPC I was allied with decided to go for monopoly victory, when I was quite happy to go for total war, admittedly it was 1 o'clock in the morning! Also there is the option to give gold, wood and food to the ally and also ask for the same in return. If you like economic & strategy, this game is certainly one of the best plus the NPC's have been well thought out and take there own actions.

I installed this game on my AMD Phenom Q4, XP pro machine without any problem in 7 minutes. Graphics are stunning, game play is easy. I played AOEI, AOEII but this one is more complicated and better. The best thing is the gameplay is not changed much. It's a real fun to play this game. I recommend this game to everyone who likes this type of games and who wants to relax while playing. This is my first purchase from Amazon UK and they are fast. The game gets 4 stars and Amazon UK gets 5 stars from me...Excuse me of my english....

This game is really good. Whilst having a PS3 and X-box, in our house, the computer games have even more influence. Rather than just "shoot-em-up" it is nice to see a child using software where they can build a civilisation. It is a really interesting game. Also, amazingly, lots of general facts and items of geography are taught to a child through the playing of the game. I highly recommend this game.

AOE series was always fun to play. The mythology and Titans were a bit off to the originals, but this brings things back again.Although some changes are not as likeable as others. When collecting coins, woods or food the settlers do not return to town centre or anywhere to stock the goods. A bit too unrealistic. The champaign was enjoyable and quite challanging at the highest difficulty level.

Great graphics and endless ways to play as well as several difficulty levels. If I had not downloaded the latest updates, the game would have lost a star: It originally required the cd be in the computer to run. The latest updates cleared that up, and the game rocks!! It is as easy or hard as you like and the interface is superb.

Happy with the game form the start. Super fast shipping. Love all the extras. Can't wait to play it and really get to experience it. Been a fan since the first edition and this does not disappoint. The graphics are true to the game and seem more detailed this time. Very happy I bought it and would recommend to any Empire fan.

Excellent game, hours of game play. Graphics are superb, the whole game is a massive improvement to the previous AofE. Easy to install and runs smoothly on a basic computer. Thoroughly enjoyed it. As others have mentioned, cardboard sleeve was very thin and arrived in a sorry state but game was undamaged.

I've gotta say i'm an AOE fanboy to the core and i love this franchise. However, WarChiefs is disappointing. The native american factions are mediocre at best and really can't stand up to European or Asian powers. Maybe i'm just not playing it right but I prefer Asian Dynasties over WarChiefs any day.

This is a great game but the only drawback is your limited to the number of units you can have. So no amassing a huge army and wiping everyone out. The 200 count unit limit is not all bad though, it does require a little more strategy. Id give it 5 stars if not for the unit limit.

I realy enjoyed playing this game, if you have played age of empires before this is a good step up with good story line and good graphics. This package is good value for money and well worth the purchase especially if you like statergy style games.

My son Josh says this is definately the "best in the Age of Empires series". The expansion is a "vast improvement on the vanilla version". Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys strategy games. He's not stopped playing it since he got it!!
