I was going to buy the standard version of the game but a price drop by Amazon prompted me to buy the collectors edition and I am pleased that I did.From the moment the large and heavy box is delivered it creates a positive impression of quality. The oversized box is protected by a slip case and inside you find the game, user manual, quick reference guide sheet complete with hot keys, CD of the music, making of DVD, poster (of an artists impression of the game) and a hardback book showing the games artwork.It is the attention to detail that makes this package so rewarding and is easily worth the extra few pounds.

I suppose this is the type of thing for gaming buffs and collectors (hence the name i guess) - i only purchased it at the time as it was the same price as the standard boxed game, so what the hell!lets be honest - it doesn't enhance your experience or improve the game in anyway. however the books are good to past the time, the strategies booklet i would argue against, but the music CD - love it!!in short it is a nice collectors lot, i doubt it will make any money in the future but its a bit of fun. in my mind - if you are aiming to purchase the game and the standalone 'normal' edition is cheaper - buy that instead!

I couldnt stop playing the other age off empires games so this was a must by. the grafics and gameplay are outstanding and the AI is like nothing ever seen! a highly indepth campain mode and highly adictive game all round! i would say that this is one of the best games of the year and a strategy game to rival the civilisation series as the best ever!

This is a amazing game, i have only recently started playing but its breath taking. when u go and attack building peices blow of,if trees get in the way they go down.You Gain exp on multiplayer. if u love stragy like i do this is the one for u. i rate this game 5 stars. defently good stragy game of the month maybe even the year.
