Review by Will GMy experience with vodka is both limited and varied – limited in terms of what sort of vodka I had drunk in my life (generally the cheapest) but varied in the uses I found for it. In the interests of science (and this review) I used the vodka in some of the same ways I used it at University – neat, with coke (diet), lemonade (7-up) and orange juice.Neat – I wouldn’t normally choose to drink my vodka neat, and this vodka hasn’t changed my mind. Like the vodkas I’d usually get (which are cheaper) it leaves a strong, bitter aftertaste. However, the aftertaste does wear off a lot more quickly than the other vodkas I have tried, and isn’t quite as eye-wateringly potent.4/10Diet coke – This is what I would normally have with vodka, and I have to say that this vodka was much better. With the Tesco/Sainsbury’s vodka I had tried (I was at uni, please don’t judge me) the awful aftertaste lingered, merely in diluted form and the diet coke was totally overwhelmed. In this case, they complemented each other quite well.I could still detect the familiar “kick” of the vodka but it didn’t overpower the mixer. 8/10Lemonade – Much the same as with diet coke, however seeing as the lemonade is somewhat bitter, the vodka was more drowned out. If you like the taste of vodka, don’t do this. If you want to use it just to get drunk, I recommend using lemonade. I tend towards the latter, so I’ll give it a 8.5/10Orange Juice – Doesn’t really go well with this, unless you use LOTS of orange juice. The kick of the vodka did not complement the sweetness of the orange. I’ve only ever tried one vodka (Beluga) which works with orange juice so to be fair I don’t know what I was really expecting. 5/10

I can remember when I first recognised the Absolut brand - mid-eighties, when it was James Bond's drink of choice in one of his movies, though I can't remember which one. Back then it was seen as a higher quality product than the average vodka, and I can remember trying a bottle and appreciating how smooth it was (I was strictly a no mixers drinker back then) compared to some of the brands I drank which were like lighter fluid.Fast forward thirty years and it's probably fair to say that Absolut has become the standard, and is no longer seen as a premium brand. The blue label Absolut is the best-selling vodka in the world, and for a good reason.It's still a fantastic product.Serve it straight from the freezer and it goes down all too easily. The real criticism with popular vodka is that this lack of flavour is often a selling point. It's difficult to get excited about Absolut, when there's just a slight taste of aniseed. Compared to Whisky there's not much for your palate to work with. on the plus side it has been proven that vodka is one of the spirits least likely to give you a hangover - but don't see that as a challenge.At my age I can't imagine going back to my old vodka-glugging ways, but as an occasional after-meal palate cleanser it's a real treat. I still love the subtle taste of icy Absolut, particularly in moderation. As a high street product, no question this is top quality stuff. If I was reviewing it against other vodkas, or indeed comparing it to different alcoholic drinks, it's not going to be my top pick, however judged on it's own merits I think it absolutely deserves 5 out of 5.

First up, at time of review this is a great price deal from Amazon in comparison to the supermarkets. That alone earns an extra star.For Absolut is not a five star spirit or even four star for those that truly enjoy their vodka and not just an add any convenient mixer to make an alcoholic drink, drinker. Even then Absolut to be fair is a good step up from own brands that push the boundaries on what should be called vodka.Neat it's a little acrid but of course not unpleasant; bring in the flavour sensations that Absolut also punt for a smoother glug neat. But yes add the mixers and surprise it'll taste just great and just like a vodka and tonic should,surely.At a time when boutique distilleries and smaller operators are springing up on the coat tails of the craft beer revolution, for any vodka lover now is the time to spend a little extra and experiment. For the vodka in the drinks cabinet for the occasional soother or dinner party, Absolut is your winner.

Absolut's a pretty well-known brand of vodka, but not one that I've had in a few years, so I was excited to try it again.The product description describes a drink with a complicated and distinctive flavour: "Rich, full-bodied and complex, yet smooth and mellowWith a distinct character of grain, followed by a hint of dried fruit".Does it live up to this billing? For me, not really. It was a smooth drink, and worked well on its own or with mixers, but I was unable to really detect any of the hints outlined above!In my opinion, this works nicely either as a mixer or straight from the freezer, but those looking for vodkas with strong natural flavours may wish to look elsewhere!

I used to drink neat spirits but, now that I'm in my fifties, this sometimes leads to a slightly irritated throat so I have started to dilute drinks. I bought this large bottle of absolut vodka in the sale as it was great value and I can use the colourful bottle afterwards as a candle holder. I tried diluting it with freshly-squeezed mandarin juice, which was nice, then tried it with strawberry juice which I'd frozen into cubes. (I just boiled a few over ripe strawberries, ate the cooked fruit and froze the juice in ice cube trays.) Strawberry vodka, providing you keep stirring it, tastes great and is one of your five a day!

Absolut is a well known brand and very popular. Made in Sweden using a winter wheat, which apparently makes it hardier and nuttier, it is still made in the same area it was first distilled. I'm sure I saw something on a telly programme about it.Some like their vodka neat but for me it always has to have a tonic, a soda with a splash of elderflower syrup in it. This certainly fits the bill as a decent vodka. Of late I have been sticking to more homegrown labels, like the one made in Shetland but I think this is good too.I have a Christmas vodka recipe so this should work well for that as well.

Perfect vodka...very clean, well made and a perfect mixer for cocktails. Happy to support the Swedish economy by buying this....and very happy to be not buying Russian vodka...thereby not supporting that aggressive state! Sorry Russian people but you need to get a decent leader who doesn't try to murder anyone who disagrees with him. So there Putin! This is top quality vodka....40% as opposed to the usual 37% so nice and strong. I love drinking this ice cold and neat with either a slice of lemon peel or a splash of a good orange liqueur...here's to the Swedes...

I'm not normally a fan of Vodka, but this one is very drinkable, perhaps a little too much so! The beautiful bottle design does the contents justice, for it's a very smooth elegant vodka packaged in a smooth elegant bottle. There's not that much else to say really. I expect vodka officionados could wax lyrical over some subtle overtone, or undertone of mountain heather, or that it has a bouquet of glacier and wild musk ox, but all I can say is that I don't normally like vodka, but this one is an exception that took me pleasantly by surprise.

This is most certainly the best nicest smoothest most perfect vodka I have ever consumed. And I've had a lot of vodka in my life. Vodka is the only alcohol I drink and this is now the only brand I will buy. I had been having cheaper decent vodkas before, but now I've tried this I wouldn't waste my money on anything cheaper ever again. Completely worth the money, and actually the price on Amazon at the moment is £5 cheaper than the supermarket. Never again will I gift any other vodka than this. Beautiful.

Absolut is a well known high street Vodka brand, made in Sweden. The bottle was well packaged (excessively even,) and swiftly delivered, worth bearing in mind if you are running low. It is sturdy, attractive and looks good in your drinks cabinet.I tend to buy Vodka on what is on offer but Absolut is one I look out for. I drink Vodka with mixers and find this goes down well and has a nice kick to it. However the Vanilla Vodka variant is a five star product which is very tasty and one I can drink neat.

I always find that if your vodka is well distilled and filtered it will cool in the freezer to be taken out and drunk straight or with a mixer as required. Poorly distilled vodkas will have ice form in the bottle as there are too many impurities. A decent vodka will have a lovely viscous pouring texture and will not ice up. Absolut produce a fine vodka which emerges from the freezer without ice and gives a wonderful taste. This is a vodka I can definitely recommend

This is the best vodka on the market in my opinion and cheaper on Amazon than the supermarket! It’s well packaged and arrived complete. Have used it to make alcohol ice pops which are funnily enough very popular with my friends! You can add fruit in too and to get them to freeze sufficiently, I find a 1:3 vodka to, say, tonic or fruit juice ratio. Incidentally, the ziplock pop wrappers can also be found on Amazon.

Clean colour, crisp and with a clean no oily aftertaste like Smirnoff. Perfect neat over ice or in martini's. thisis a good vodka it tastes different to the normal russian stuff we buy (you know the one beginning with s)it tastes cleaner and still has that plesant warmth, the bottle is stylish and tells you a little of the making of the product, at its presant price is very good as i prefer to have 1 ltr bottles or it seems to dissapear too fast

This is my favourite Vodka (the next one that comes close is the Polish Vyborova).It has a lovely and very smooth taste, there is none of the harsh course sting many other vodkas have.Best drunk very very chilled, it literally flows down your throat like a nice cool oyster ;)And the bottle looks very cool and stylish!
