Really just bought these as a treat for myself so I didn't have to use those vile biros that always seem to be the only thing left on your desk when you're looking for a pen.Gel ink gives a lovely smooth writing-feel and leaves behind a nice thick inky line - there's something intrinsically pleasant about using a nice pen. Even inspires me to try to write a bit more neatly when I don't have to stare at the feeble scratches the other pens leave.Once you've decided to pay a few pounds for a nicer disposable pen, there are plenty of other choices - but after working my way through the half-dozen that seem available individually in blisterpacks these were my favourite.Other benefit of having a box full of them is that you get the satisfaction of telling people to keep the one they've borrowed, thus spreading a feeling of harmonious contentment to those around you.Only possible downside is that they don't tend to last that long, purely down to the amount of ink they deposit on the page. Biros seem to be thrown away when they finally break, these definitely run out of ink.

These are easily my go-to writing pens.Pros: Extremely smooth flow, leaving a consistent, thick, dark line. Ink dries fully within a few seconds and so smudging is never a worry. The ink flows very consistently throughout the pen's use, and only starts to get thin very close to the end.Cons: They run out rather fast, depending on use - I'm a university student and I'll densely cover about 20-30 sides of A4 per day, which will exhaust one of these pens. This is easily heavier use than the vast majority of people will put them through, so this is a minor point and I won't be removing stars over it.Overall, these are such a pleasure to write with that I don't mind paying a little over a pound a day to use them - the box of 12 will last me a couple of weeks, and delivery is so quick that I haven't had to go without one for a while. Compared to common biros and my previous pen of choice, the Pilot Hi-Tecpoint, these are easily my favourite. If ever there were a fountain pen or similar refillable version of these, I would be very happy to spend good money on it.

as i have fluctuating visual impairments, i need a pen that writes thick enough in order for me to still be able to read my own writing when my vision is worse.after a long search, i first used a pen that was about 2.0mm. though you could use it much longer than this one (re ink usage), it just does not work; the line is too broad to still write with it, and after a while it ended up being a 3.0mmthis one is the best in between. as said, uses a lot of ink, but it is a relief to be able to write bigger letters with ink that offers sufficient contrast so i can read my own stuff!!would be really great to be able to buy this in large quantities to not run outif amazon would allow me to see the stars while using high contrast,i would have rated this with a 4 star - as previous not with 5 as it really uses a lot of ink, hence rather expensive...

Nothing is better than a broad gel pen.... well that is not strictly accurate, world peace, an end to disease, etc, but in terms of matters of pens, broad tipped gel pens are absolute perfection, rather than scratchy thin ones. These are an absolute joy to write and draw with and I also use them for fine detail in gouache paintings and they just keep going and don't dry up... even if I neglect them for a week or so. My handwriting looks as though it was done by a drunken dyslexic spider, but they make even that look vaguely acceptable. Look just buy some, they are lovely :-)

I am a bit of a pen anorak and am really fussy about the pens I use. Having used fountain pens exclusively for the past few years, I decided I would like something more practical and I stumbled upon the Gel Impact. It is a very smooth writer and the bold lines make your writing stand out nicely on the page - I can imagine it being a useful tool for artists too.The only downside to the bold lines is the amount of ink the pen uses. Depending on my work commitments, I have sometimes run one dry in less than a week, so it is definitely worth getting the 12 pack.

As the heading, these are almost as good to hold as the Pilot G-2 range of retractables, though a tad slimmer in the grip area. One star deducted for "Longevity" - which is understandable when using this "Broad" line width in any pen of this type. After all, the very nature of a Broad ball is to lay down more ink, so the refill won't last long if you write a lot, as I do. On the plus side, both these and the Pilot 1.0 mm refills are wonderfully smooth to write with - so you won't mind having to replace refills more often than with a 0.7 mm point.

This item arrived safe and well packaged. My boy loves using this type of pen. We stumbled across them one day, and ever since, it is the only pen that he will use for his school work. Well the amount of writing that he does, he gets through loads of these. And the best value way to buy them is by the box load! You can use refills inside them too, but the outside does wear out too, so better to have plenty of these available.I highly recommend this product.

I have to write a lot at work, sometimes very quickly. I have used these exact pens for some years now and I won't have anything else. I buy them in boxes of a dozen. The ink is very free flowing so you can write quickly with very little need for pressure on the page -- and that makes a difference after several hours of writing. The only downside -- they don't last forever but it's not too bad. You can buy refills but that doesn't save a huge amount.

I came across this pen at work which was used by a colleague. I take pride in my handwriting and this pen without any shadow of a doubt brings out the very best in writing style. The width of the flow is perfect and the blue is a really appealing pacific type of blue. The price was absolutely brilliant and well packed as well as very prompt delivery. I could thoroughly recommend these pens!

These are my favourite note-taking pens, quite a thick tip (1mm) so if you like a fine line they are not for you. The ink flow seems to last quite a long time and they are very smooth and free flowing so if you write quickly they can keep up with the pace! There is a bit of a smudging issue as with most thicker nib pens but as long as you are aware of this it is not an issue.

Great pens! Prepare yourself to be to be totally Wow-ed by your grocery lists, calendar entries ETC. All daily mundane writing becomes calligraphic art. This is a great price for these gel pens.Yes, gel pens run out of gel faster than ink pens run out of ink, but that's life.If you enjoy writing lists, letters and simple graphic arty stuff, then these are the pens for you.

My fourteen year old son feels he can only ever use these pens as they have a broad line. They are very expensive in high street stationers and stocked by only a few of them. I found these in a bumper pack and at very good value per pen. They do last a long time and remain fluid and functioning through out. He uses them foe written school work and drawing.

My handwriting is not good and when I'm in a hurry, it's illegible. With a thicker nib, it's acceptable. So a 1mm nib plus gel ink and suddenly I'm a calligrapher. Well, not really, but it's an improvement. Unless it's raining, when the ink turns my beautiful script into a blotchy mess. But I hate using anything else, so it must be good.

Great pens, gives the perfect thick line but my only drawback is the ink runs out seriously fast since, it is an inky pen but still, for the price its not worth it, you'll end up buying more and wasting money etc etc. Also, like every other inky pen, there comes smuding issues lol. Great pen though would defo buy again :)

I love these pens. They write really smoothly and the written word looks really great. They dodn't last long as they use real ink and it runs out - obviously depends how often you use them. Beware - other people are very impressed when they use your pen and don't always remember to give them back .....
