This overall is a good racing game with many different types of cars and tracks. There is everything from F1 to off road buggies. However when you first get the game only about 5 out of the 40 - 50 cars are unlocked. This is fine because you expect to have to work through the game.There are two ways to unlock cars firstly the world tour which is split into over 30 different tiers with a choice of 2 or 3 different tournements in different car types on each tier. If you complete the tournement goal then you unlock the car you were racing in and the chance to compete on the next tier.The other way to unlock is to work your way through each recing dicipline unlocking the car if you come in the top 3 or 4 of the tournement after competing on every track the car can race on.

The trouble with most modern race games is that they're nearly all become infested with arcade-style gameplay. You take corners at 200mph and when you crash head on into a wall, your miraculously survive with little or no damage to your car. Toca Race Driver 3 is for the purists. You've got to learn to master the corners and look after your car if you want it to survive the race. There's lots of settings so you can make it pretty much as realistic and challenging as you like (or as you can cope with).Be aware, though, that although this game should work perfectly well on an XP machine, you might not be able to get it running on a windows 7 (or later) computer.

It's worth admitting up front that this game has some problems. Some of the vehicles, especially the off-road ones, do not handle well and are best avoided. Also, the steering feedback is a little suspect on all categories. But overall the game is good. The handling is fairly predictable and balanced, the graphics and the sense of speed are good. Many vehicles are modelled well and give good fun. Although this game suffers from being marketed to non-serious sim racers, as the variety of cars has been stretched, it can't quite hide what is ultimately a thrilling and worthy racing game.

Firstly, if you're looking for a fun racer, then this definitely isn't it.This is a racing simulation game, and is good in this respect. The cars handle like they should, and the features like damage, fuel, and tyre wear are good additions to the game.There is a good variety of tracks, and they are true to the real deal, which is nice, because you want to be able to feel like a professional playing this game.Overall, a good game.

My computer crashed so I had to repurchase. People talk about Gran Turismo being the real driving simulator... They haven't played Toca 3 and they probably haven't driven in real life! lol.

Bought this for my husband and he thinks it's brilliant. Hes retired through ill health and he races online with friends. Well worth the money.
