This is a well made duffel bag. I'm very pleased with the quality which is on par with my other bag from Thule. I like the end pockets which elevate it from basic duffel to a true piece of luggage. The color is brighter than I had thought it would be. I think I'd prefer a more subdued color but I will say that the bright liner makes it easy to find small items and the unique color will make it easy to spot on a baggage carousel. My favorite thing about this bag is the organization. There are straps inside the way suitcases are set up to keep clothes from bunching up. The end pockets work for shoes or other bulky items. There is a pocket up front for small items which I like in theory and find useful but I'm concerned the thin fabric won't hold up as well as the rest of the bag, I'd prefer this pocket to be removable. The mesh pocket up front also creates a problem if you need to overstuff the bag for some reason. Your clothes will push on the mesh pocket rather than being contained by the sturdy duffel bag material on the other side. One thing I don't care for is the size. This is the reason I'm giving it four stars rather than five, the somewhat awkward size. It's a bit too big to be a weekend bag but it's a bit too small to be large enough for a week+ trip. I'm a rather minimalist packer and even I don't think I could fit everything for a week long trip in this bag unless it was the middle of summer and all I was bringing was tank tops, shorts, and flip flops. I'd say the size is right for two people for a long summer weekend or one person for a long winter weekend. It could work for a longer trip where laundry facilities were available.

When this bag arrived it was all flattened and shapeless in its box and took us awhile to figure out just how cool it really is. The interior is huge with a pair of retention straps to secure your clothing. It has two large side pockets for shoes that can extend into the main interior if room allows. The dual zipper openings are always a must. And it has zippered mesh pockets on the inside as well as one on the exterior. The exterior handles allow you to carry it as horizontally or vertically. The shoulder padded strap can be attached two different ways depending how you want to carry it. I love its burgundy sheen with the almost reddish-colored handles and zippers. The bright orange interior is really bright but appears waterproof. The thing screams durable. The duffle is part of a Thule luggage set that includes a smaller duffle, a rolling duffle and two different sized backpacks that can purchased separately. Now, the price. My mother used to own a luggage store and often people would balk at the cost of something other than Samsonite. When she pointed out that a well built piece of luggage is something that will last years, even decades, people listened. Unless you are looking for a fashion accessory, luggage should be a one time purchase. Cost and length of use will always justify the price. This is the new weekend and/or ski bag in our house.

The non-wheeled Thule Subterra 60L impresses me as a quality crafted duffel with a commodious amount of space and should easily meet the needs of travelers for a long weekender or a full week trip. The efficient packer/planner – which I am not - might very well find it sufficient for a two week adventure. The one caveat with that would be packed to the gills, even with consideration of the multiple attachment points for the shoulder strap it is not the most manageable piece of luggage to tote around. As it is, even lightly packed it’s somewhat of a crap shoot whether or not it would meet most airlines carry-on size/weight restrictions and a less amenable check-in attendant might reject it based on size. The bag is constructed of very durable nylon and weighs slightly less than 2 ½ lbs.The dimensions are 13 x 15 x 26 inches with expandable zippered side compartments that will easily accommodate shoes, boots and other gear. The stitching throughout seems very secure and there are thoughtfully placed handles to assist in transport. The center main compartment zippers merge to facilitate use of luggage locks. The bag has convenient front and rear entry points for access to meshed pockets than can be used to store keys, passports, toiletries and other smaller sundry items. The bag also has a built in ID card slot.

Yes, I am a bag kind of guy. I love bags. Big bags, little bags...I would classify this as a big bag. It is big enough, when full, it can easily hold more than how much I want to carry. 60L--60 liters, is pretty darn big. Thule (I pronounce it tool-ee, although I have little acquaintance with Swedish) makes very fine outdoor equipment. I have one of their backpacks. Did I say this bag is big? I tried to load it up on a trip to visit the grandson. Two baseball gloves, two baseballs, three large books, a couple of cans of soda for me in one of the side pockets. A smaller book, moisturizer, and a dumbbell I no longer use in the other side pocket. Still lots of room left over.I love that there are rings for the shoulder strap in several locations on the bag, so you can rig it according to what is in it, and how you are going the carry it. The material is strong, tough. The color is rich. The carry handles are a little weird. I expected traditional handles to carry the bag in basically the same position as it is with the shoulder strap, but they are sort of side handles. Weird but useful. Highly recommended.

This bag is huge! I did not expect it to be so large. It is also very well made, Heavy Duty to be exact. The material is very thick. This bag will stand up to a lot of use. It's not the same round size as normal duffel bags, it's kind of size sided. It has a pocket you can get into from inside and outside the bag. The size is kind of in between what you would want for a carry and on bag and what would fit under the seat in front of you. But that's just for flying. I could pack for a causal 5 day trip in this no problem. Finally the shoulder strap is a bit weird. It goes diagonal across the bag. This can make it hard to get comfortable using the shoulder strap.Overall this is a very decent bag that I will get some good use out of.Notes:- Large, too large for a personal item on plane, not large enough to be carry on- Heavy duty. Very thick and well made- Awkward shoulder strap goes diagonal across the bag- Innovative pocket accessible from in and outside of bag

Beautiful dark burgundy red color, high quality bag. Note: this will NOT fit under a seat on an airplane, you will need to stow it in the overhead rack. There is an interesting, clever compartment that opens from either the inside or the outside of the bag. I'm not sure why you'd want this but it is cool! There is another interior access only, zippered compartment too.The side pockets are very large and each could easily fit a pair of shoes. The bag is very versatile (and roomy!) allowing you to carry it in a variety of ways (handles are on several sides and the shoulder strap can be attached multiple places). The interior straps help keep your clothes organized and in place.Everything about this bag is "quality".Thule is a company I would trust for quality transportation racks and travel bags.

I just used this duffle as a carry on for a trip to Colorado, I was very happy with it. You can cram a ton of stuff into this bag. I had it so full I was afraid it would be too big, but had no problem bringing it on the plane. I didn’t use the side compartments for shoes, but for smaller items, which was helpful so they didn’t get lost in the large main compartment. It did get heavy since I fit so much stuff in it, but I appreciated the padded shoulder strap and clever way you can connect the strap to balance the weight. I also loved the side pocket that was accessible from inside, or outside. The fabric was very durable and well made and I know this will be a duffle I will be using years from now.I would recommend it.

I got this for my son to use on weekend trips home from college, and it works great for that. It’s surprisingky roomy and very sturdy. It’s also easy to carry on long walks through train stations and has a pretty significant “ cool factor”. This bag will withstand a lot of abuse. No matter how it is mistreated or how dirty it gets it always look like new. Fantastic duffel bag

Got this as a gift for my husband and he LOVES it. Lots of great features and the blue/orange combo is awesome. He has the matching backpack which he also loves. They’re incredibly functional, sturdy bags that seem like they will last a lifetime. Highly recommend.
