I purchased this game for a friend's son. He was showing interest in all things WW2 and wanted to play a military based game on his 4 year old laptop. More current games, FPS and flight sims, would not run on his PC. Having played Sudden Strike when it came out originally I thought there was a fair chance it would work. I saw the Gold Edition at an exceptionally decent price so it wasn't much of a gamble. The game runs flawlessly on his laptop and just needs the resolution knocking back a bit as the small units are a tad too small for a laptop screen. Obviously the game is as good as it was and the gold edition comes with the add-on disc so it's brilliant value for money.

This is one of the best tactical war games there are. Not a strategy game - but the tactical detail makes it better than most RTS titles. You control different types of infantry, officers, medics, mechanics and a number of vehicles - tanks, recon, trucks.. And there are ships and planes as well.

What more could you possibly want from a game of this sort. I origianly bought this game for my husband but he has'nt had a look in. Its easy to play. excellent graphics and superb value for money.
