STABILO beFab Rollerball Pen with 3 Blue Ink Cartridges - Sand/Dusty PinkThis is a sturdy, lightweight plastic rollerball pen that, unusually, takes ink cartridges. It is comfortable to hold and produces a smooth writing action and a clear, consistent line. It is light in the hand but at the same time feels good quality and as if it will last for a long time and take a lot of knocks. In terms of design, the cap a light sand colour and the barrell is a dusty rose pink with a Stabilo beFab logo in the same light sand colour. The ends of the pen and the clip are in a complimentary brownish burgundy colour. The whole pen has an attractive glossy finish, apart from the part where you grip the pen which is matte and in black plastic. The pen comes with 3 ink cartridges, one of which is tucked inside the pen lid, so you won't unexpectedly be left without unable to write. Overall, this is a practical and well-designed writing implement.=== THINGS I LIKE ABOUT THIS PRODUCT ===* The pen is nice and light, making it easy to hold even with the cap on the end* The pen is comfortable to hold and grip* Nice smooth writing action* Produces a good, clear line of medium width - not too narrow, not too thick* The cap fits snugly onto the end of the pen where it stays in place when writing* The pen lid has a sturdy clip that means you can attach it to a pocket* Sleek, conservative styling, suitable for adults or children* Takes standard ink cartridges (ie you don't have to buy Stabilo ones)* beFab pens come in both rollerball or fountain pens and in dozens of different colour combinations* The cartridges are easy to fit into the pen - just push into place - and you can carry a spare one round with you in the pen lid so you won't run out of ink=== NIGGLES ===* This is a fairly staid design - perhaps appealing to an older demographic where the main range seems aimed at older primary school-age children and teenagers* The part of the pen that you grip - and which is standard across the beFab range - is black in colour and doesn't gel with the rest of the pen's designFor sale at the time of writing this review at £7.99.

I use fountain pens at work, predominantly because I like the nib and also because I can change the colour of the ink cartridge. I’ve never heard of a rollerball pen that uses an ink cartridge, and must say after using this pen, I’m unlikely to go back to my fountain pens.Cartridge insertion is easy; the barrel unscrews smoothly and the cartridge slots firmly into place. There is an immediate ink flow, but this pen needs a little start up time. If the pen sits idle for a while, the ink initially doesn’t flow smoothly and I end up having to retrace a couple of letters to make them legible. This doesn’t happen often, and as stated always after the pen hasn’t been used for a while. After writing a couple of sentences though, this is no longer an issue. There is a quite fine nib, which travels smoothly across the page without a scratchy feel to it. There is no ink leakage leaving you with stained fingers; a problem I can have with my fountain pens sometimes. Both the look and feel of this pen is attractive despite the strange blend of colours. The chunky barrel is a dusky pink, with a black thinner grip area and a burgundy base. The lid is a sand colour with burgundy accents. The lid is a tight fit and requires a forceful tug to remove it from the barrel, plus another decent shove to secure it properly to the barrel before you hear the light click. This is my new favourite work pen. It works well despite a slow start sometimes, has a great look to it, a comfortable grip, a smooth glide across the paper and a nice flow of ink. 3 small blue cartridges are included (one is hidden in the barrel) but my predominantly pink pen is packing hot pink ink at the moment. Really happy with this product.

The Stabilo beYou rollerball is a plastic barrelled pen which uses the Universal Short sized fountain pen ink cartridges so that you can easily refill it. The barrel accommodates two cartridges, one in use and the other as a backup refill. The pen has a clip-on lid that fits on the end of the barrel when the pen is in use. The colour combination I received is dusty pink and milky coffee, offset by a 'Bakelite' burgundy for the clip and endcaps. I find it a drab combination. The pen comes with three full cartridges and one blank. Two full ones are visible in the blister pack and the third full one is stored in the barrel. The empty cartridge is fitted in the working cartridge position.A new cartridge is fitted by pressing it home into the unscrewed nib end. The second cartridge keeps it in place. The ink that comes with the pen is a clean, bright blue. The packet says that it is erasable. The ink doesn't rub out with a pencil rubber. I guess that the ink can be 'erased' using one of those special, fountain pen ink eraser pens. The pen writes smoothly and doesn't splodge. The barrel has a slightly thicker barrel feel than I'm used to. It measuring 12mm in diameter. Around the nib collar is a silicone grip which has two larger flattened sides and a small flattened side to fit the fingers as the pen is held. Personally, I find the pen a little too thick between the fingers for the way I hold a pen. If you hold the pen using a clenched fist grip then I'm sure this pen is very comfortable to write with.

I am well known as a penaholic (well, among people who know me anyway!) i prefer fountain pens but this is a very odd roller ball (this is a good thing to a penaholic). It takes cartridges! I have never seen a pen that takes cartridges that doesnt have a nib. It was easy enough to load a cartridge, like most cartridge pens that take the small standard cartridges you put one in the barrel backwards then put another in the nib end with the narrow end towards the nib, then just screw on the barrel. This pushes the cartridge onto the spike at the back of the nib.It writes smoothly, exactly like a standard rollerball. it has a surprisingly fine line for a rollerball (0.5mm according to the packet)I love the fact that it takes standard cartridges, you can get them anywhere, and also you can get converters so you can use bottled ink and so the range of colours you can use has endless potential! The only thing i dont like is the fact that the lid doesnt match the barrel. I have ocd, this offends me!! It has a beige lid and a pink barrel, so odd.

I rather like these 'Rollerball' pens. It's a "Hybrid" between a conventional fountain pen and a rollerball in that it uses the same ink cartridge as the fountain pen without the 'nib' instead it uses a rollerball to deliver the ink to the paper. The ink flows easily without splashing or bleeding and there is little chance of shaking a blob of ink from a rollerball. The grip is okay, it wouldn't harm from a little more substance, but its comfortable enough. A spare cartridge is kept in the barrel and the top fits nicely on the end of the pen. The pocket clip is adequate. There is an insistence through this Stabilo range that the ink is erasable.I am having difficulty is finding an eraser that works.

A perfectly decent, easy-use refillable rollerball pen from Stabilo. With a cartridge contained inside the barrel and two refill cartridges this should last you a good long while; they contain blue ink and the pen – as one would expect of a rollerball – has a good smooth and flowing action. It is quite a solid, chunky item which feels quite nice to use; the tone of the ink can be varied with some practice and it certainly looks different from the line of a regular ballpoint – I think Stabilo call this “Ice Blue” but there's no reference to that in the product description.I'm quite happy with this, it feels like the rollerball pens I occasionally use for drawing so I'm comfortable with it.

Pilot Frixion seem to be a popular pen brand amongst my 13 year old daughter's age group, the principal selling point being the ability to erase your mistakes, especially as Tippex is banned in school! I've managed to wean her off the Frixion slightly with this Stabilo Rollerball pen and a fountain pen from the same range. Since she can use Lamy ink eradictor pens to rub out any errors, she's happy to use the rollerball pen.The range will primarily appeal to teens and the young at heart with its range of funky designs. I've also ordered spare cartridges in a range of colours so she can use these in art work too. How lovely to be able to encourage handwriting in this digital age!

This pen has a chunky feeling and has a nice weight to it. I personally don't like the blue ink provided as it is a bit pale, however it will happily take other brands of short ink cartridge - which are available very cheaply. The third ink cartridge is hidden away within the pen, a useful feature to avoid you running out on the go. I find the 0.5mm a bit too thick, particularly on porous paper. Overall this is a good product, though expensive for its day to day use and also the design is very plain. Despite the quality of the product, I probably would buy an alternative from the same brand.

I love to write in ink - especially Pilot V fountain pans. This made a great change. It is nice to get the ink effect whilst not having to worry about the pressure. I've been using this for all sorts - shopping lists, birthday cards, to do lists.... It copes as well with quick scribbles as it does with careful, best handwriting.I own the same pen in the water melon design. Unfortunately on the third time I used it, I obviously put the lid on the end of the pen a little hard and the lid cracked up the side. it now won't stay on which I find really inconvenient.

I like this pen. I find it comfortable to hold even though it is quite bulky. The ink flows smoothly so writing with it is very easy. It comes with three refills so should last a while. The colour of the body, a dusky pink, is very attractive and unusual. My only gripe is that the nib at 0.5mm is a little too broad for my taste. As my handwriting is quite small, I prefer a fine nib and although I looked through a few of the pens available here I could only find medium nibs although I'm sure there must be finer ones. Apart from that, very happy with it.

I like this pen. Its easy to hold and writes really well.By using a standard ink cartridge its easy to replace the ink.You can carry a spare cartridge in the barrel of the pen.I am nor such a fan of the colour scheme. The cap and barrel are different colours, no idea why, plus the pen is a rather dull colour. Which isca shame as a bright colour scheme would have been better i think. But the pen writes well.

3.8.2017

This is a fairly chunky pen which is easy to hold and manipulate. It is refillable with cartridges so can be used longer term. The colour is nice.I find that the pen has to be held mor upright than usual in order to be able to write smoothly which is a tiny bit annoying. However in that position it writes really well.

22.5.2017

This is a slightly retro pen. I remember having one of these when I was a kid, slightly thicker than usual, with a good grip. The pen is nicely balanced and closes it's lid with a satisfying click. The only thing that bothers me is that there are two ink cartridges but none inside the pen itself in the packaging.

4.1.2018

This is a nice rollerball pen that offers nice clean lines and a pleasant writing experience. The grip is nice and thick so it feels substantial even though it is lightweight. The refills are easy to install and take just a bit of time for the ink to work its way down to the nib. Overall, this is a good pen.

A thick pen to hold that has worked well with me being left handed. Sometimes I smudge ink depending on the tilt of my hand. This comes with 3 blue ink cartridges provided which should last a while. I like the dusky pink colour, looked professional enough at a meeting too. Felt comfortable to hold and use.
