SPANX Women's Higher Power Shorts, Soft Nude, Large VS. Rago Women's Hi Waist Long Leg Shaper, Beige, Large (30)All the wedding dress shopping articles tell you to wear the undergarments you are planning to wear on the day to the fittings, so I ordered shapewear in preparation for my dress fitting appointment. The two main recommendations were SPANX (an obvious choice as this brand has become synonymous with shapewear—like Kleenex and tissue) and Rago. Most of the reviews I read highly recommended Rago so I ordered comparable options in both; high waist and mid thigh.I wasn’t looking for a lot of shaping help. I consider myself very body positive.I love my curves and just wanted to smooth out my silhouette a tad (I mean I am spending a lot of money on pictures and a dress).The Rago are well constructed and beautiful. They have boning and are made of sturdy elastic lace. They also have clasps for stockings which is very cool. They are very difficult to get on and off and I was very worried about ripping the more delicate areas of the lace (I believe they are much sturdier than they appear though). The lace was itchy but not so bad that I believe you wouldn’t get used to it. The boning at the top gives me great confidence that the waist band would not roll down. The tummy panel and the structuring on the sides and back works very well to elevate and compliment your curves.The SPANX are made of a very comfortable elastic material like very thick nylons. They are very comfortable and easy to pull on. They hold everything in place and smooth out the lines of your body without overly changing your silhouette. The waistband has a think gel strip along the top that prevents the top from curling down (I read many reviews that pointed to SPANX having this problem compared to Rago). I moved around a lot while I tried these on to see if the top would roll down and it did not. The thigh section is thicker than the top and I didn’t observe any problems with the ends rolling up either. I believe if you size these correctly you will have no problem with them rolling or sliding out of place.Both pairs of shapewear feature a split crotch so that they do not need to be removed to go to the restroom (I read a few reviews where Rago was recommended for having these, over SPANX so maybe SPANX has recently added this feature).For my needs I will be keeping the SPANX. I prefer less shape help but would highly recommend the RAGO to anyone that feels more comfortable with more support! The SPANX also feel more comfortable to me and I have very sensitive skin (I do believe that people with normal skin would find the Rago brand comfortable but I feel that it will drive me crazy).

I was honestly quite worried when I ordered this product, because I'd read some mixed reviews about the fit. I know that SPANX are incredibly snug, but that's what I wanted. That being said, I wasn't sure if I'd be okay ordering a size below what I would measure for. I had a week to find shapewear so I could wear a really cute dress to a friend's wedding, so I took a massive leap of faith and just crossed my fingers that I'd fit in this. I did.I didn't see any reviews on Amazon or Torrid about sizing beyond a 3X - so here is mine. The package notes a 3X as such:Weight : 305 - 325 (lbs)Waist : 45.5 - 48 (inches)Hips : 54 - 56 (inches)I don't know my exact weight, but it's on the higher end of the 300s.

I was on the cusp of needing the size up from small, however, I went with the recommendation of small as I assumed Spanx knew what they were talking about with the size guides!I feel I'm losing weight every time I put them on as it's such a struggle getting the waist band over my spanx needing thighs, however, once they're on they do exactly what they're suppused to and suck you in in all the right places. The waist band does sit high and I feel it might benefit from one of those non slip rubber things on the inside of the band that you find in some strapless bra's as it does have a tendency to move South. Not terribly much but enough to be irritating in that you find yourself pulling it up every now and then.

I already own a full body Spanx shape wear with straps that I absolutely LOVE but, was really in need of something for a strapless dress. I was skeptical upon buying this item bcuz I’ve owned others in the past that CONSTANTLY roll! I read the reviews which were mixed so I went ahead & bought it, worst case I could send it back. To my surprise it really didn’t roll too bad, I had to pull it up a few times but it’s nothing like the others I’ve tried. SO happy I found a shape wear option for strapless outfits. It smooths everything out & makes you feel like you have the perfect hourglass & it’s so comfortable. Not too tight around thick thighs which I LOVE bcuz most products like this are too snug & unforgiving on the thighs.

I noticed a friend of mine who is at least 30 pounds heavier than when we were in our 20's and 30's started wearing closer fitting clothes. I thought it was maybe that she had lost weight. I saw no bulges but she doesn't work out at all, so at that weight with the closer fitting tops I was a bit confused why she started looking better in her clothes.I have put on 10 pounds and had a social event to attend. I've worn lots of shapewear, some uncomfortable, some easy to get on, some impossible to breath in but I've never brought Spanx purely because of the price and now I'm kicking myself for all the money wasted. These are amazing. I brought them to wear under my wedding dress as I have a considerable mum-tum and also wanted to avoid any chub rub (it's fun being me) so I've been looking for a high waisted sort. I hesitated buying these because of the price and the fact that I worried the top would roll down.I tried them on, easy to get on, very soft and comfortable, theres a grip strip at the top but at the back not the front which I found odd at first. They held me in just the right amount,

So I ordered without really paying attention to details. Keep in mind that although the some people say it rolls, it really depends on how you apply it! I'm 5'5 147lbs. I'm not chubs, slimmer side BUT with a tummy apparently..I wish it was gone but oh well. Now I got a medium..the torso part goes all the way to my under boobs. I haven't tried making it go higher. But I can say my thighs and stomach feel tighter. It also lifts your butt, which is a plus! Give it a try. You can't tell you're wearing it and it doesn't cause pain when breathing.Cons: it's tight, not as tight from the stomach as I would like. I did read some reviewers left this comment as well. It doesn't hurt from the torso as others do.

Oh you gotta get one! I researched this and similar competitors alot before I bought it and its Better than expected results! Its light material , not uncomfortable at all , even on super hot days, and most importantly, it makes a big difference. For me , Its the difference of wearing a tight fitting dress or the dreaded"-will wear it After I lose weight " lie that we tell ourselves! The beige color is very light which I love it with my very fair skin tone. I think this color will work with everything, no need to have multiple shades. It's a must have! I wear it only with dresses and it does much better than slimming slips that I have purchased. It comes up very high to the bra line to slim all that.

This are great as underwear, they give support in all the right places and are simply undetectable.I have a big post baby tum and they actually did hold everything in quite well - felt really great in them.Will certainly recommend to others to buy as they are worth every penny, they are!Update 13/07/13Above review was after excitedly trying them on for the first time, to see if the size was OK.However, next time i wore them, it was for 7 hrs straight.On taking them off, was mortified to discover a large ladder running from the back end of gusset all the way up the back of these!It is needless to say, that i was utterly and thoroughly gutted!I mean,

I purchased these for my high school reunion in a couple of weeks, so I haven't worn them for any length of time yet. But I did try them on and wear them for a short time the other day. They are very snug fitting, but not so much so that they will be uncomfortable. I pulled the waistband up to just below my bra, and it stayed put without rolling down. I also sat down several times and squatted to pick things up from the floor, and the legs stayed in place as well. I did notice that they are warm, which will be nice in the winter, but may not be so welcome in the heat of August. But that's the nature of spandex, and it's worth the tradeoff in my opinion. I am very pleased with the slimming effect these gave me.

I busted out laughing when I took this out. I figured there is no ooo way this is going to fit. I got a large based on sizing for 155lbs. It looks soo tiny that I thought this was kids/children size. But I said, what the hey let's see how far can this get up my leg. 5 mins later, some jumping around, wiggle dance, scooting, tugging, it got on. And omg! My butt is lifted. My upper thighs toned. My tummy and lower pouch nearly gone. This comes all the way to my bra line. I've only been wearing it for 10 mins. Not sure if it will roll or move around after a 10 hour day, but if it stays, then this is highly recommended. 41 inches on hips around my bottom end. And my waist is about 31 inches around,

I was not really sure how to judge the product fit so disregard the "somewhat small" and go with this...I based the size I ordered off of another pair I have not the size chart. These should be too small for me but they fit and yet are too large and too small at the same time. The high waist band is a tad too tight, just a fraction. The waist fits perfectly. The legs are good but almost a little loose. It is the oddest fit of any pair I've had. Other than the squeeze on the top of the band they are really comfortable and work like they are supposed to.I let my (fake) nails get a little too long and managed to rip a couple of holes in random places, the holes have not grown in any way even after several washes,

I am very pleased with this product, i am a size 18-20 and i purchased a size E, they fit perfectly, they are an effort to get on i agree but they are truly worth the struggle! Smooths out all the unsightly lumps and bumps and makes my dresses look better by pulling everything in! They are seam free and have a two layered split cotton gusset, allowing you to pee through without fighting in a cramped cubicle to get them up and down every time nature calls! After trying them on the first time i too (as some other reviews have stated) thought i had laddered them in a few places, however on closer inspection i realised it is not ladders, the spanx are supposed to be like that,

Very comfortable. I had never owned a pair of SPANX so I wasn't sure what I was getting into. I had only tried the cheaper knock-off types and they were not the most comfortable things to wear. I finally gave in and bought these because I was going to a fancy dress party and had a very tight dress to wear. I am SO GLAD I shelled out the money for the real thing. These did the job, but I wasn't sweating like a pig in a Texas summer! They were actually comfortable to wear all night! They didn't cut into my skin anywhere on my body and I felt very confident in my tight dress. These were worth the cost and I have already worn them a few more times under my work wear, just to smooth things out.

This is the first Spanx purchase I have ever made, so I can't differentiate this product from others. I've worn it several times and it was great. There wasn't any riding up on the legs, which I've heard can be the case with some. I purchase these to wear under a skin tight dress I wore to a wedding. You couldn't see lines from the Spanx at all, which I was worried about. I've worn them again under other items and they pull everything in just the right amount. They are pretty tight, but not uncomfortable. I've worn them about 3-4 times now and haven't experienced any tears. I also try to be careful pulling them on and off, since some of the previous reviews mentioned them getting a run.
