'Ooooh, matron' was one of the phrases that sprung to mind as I looked in the mirror, together with a vision of Barbara Windsor in that rather famous scene from 'Carry on Camping'. I hear Sid James cackle every time I wear it. I've never been a fan of non-wired bras, but I'm a convert. I'd call it a classic sheep dog bra - rounds 'em up and points them in the right direction. I've never bought anything else quite like it. I am transformed from potentially not having to wear a bra at all because they could soon be tucked down the waistband of my jeans into Miss Typing Pool 1967. Looks amazing under a tight sweater. In fact, I haven't looked this good in thirty years despite many hours in the company of that woman in M & S with the tape measure and cold hands.Great for preventing embarrassing fall outs whilst gardening, picking up dog poo on walkies or leaning over freezer cabinets (shut up, Sid). I've tested all of these situations thoroughly. Colour pink is not exactly what I was expecting. Some might call it hideous, but I think the dark fuchsia is fantastic. Probably why this one is so much cheaper than others currently available, but I found matching pants in same colour in the supermarket, also in the cheap bucket for some reason. Will definitely buy another. Forwards we march!

Very good bra, very reasonable price (from Warehouse Deals, bashed box but ONE THIRD of the cost from the bra boutique!) Otherwise perfect condition. Had been professionally measured (different brands fit the same lady but in different chest/cup sizes - so you are NOT a standard 36C but a Triumph 36C, a different brands 34D, etc. Do get measured (and support your local business by buying at least ONE bra from them, and then you can test it out properly) but then, fully aware of your best size and brand, go internet shopping. Triumph Doreen Bra's are the worlds favourite bra, the most popular and have incredibly good support, which us ladies need. GO GET MEASURED PROPERLY,so many ladies don't and buy cheap bra's from supermarkets, etc and wonder why they have breast/chest/back pain. "Treat" yourself and spend up to £30 on a decent bra (or much less on here). For daily wear how much will that cost you per day? And it will last an AWFUL lot of days because it is brilliant quality too. Great adjustable velcro shoulder straps, no plastic things to dig in. Wash and wear and wash and wear, put it on and forget it, because it is soooooooo comfortable and yet is pretty & doesn't look like scaffolding. Best bra's I've ever worn (I use Triumph Tri Action's for sporty stuff too)

I purchased these as a last resort, I thought that these were just for oldies, not that I'm a youngster, but still felt I had a bit more life for underwire. Unfortunately not, due to disability, I found fashionable bra's were just that, not suited to someone who wanted to put her own underwear on without it taking an hour. I've seen these bra's advertised since I was a little girl, and always thought they looked old fashioned, and dare I say, it scratchy and stiff and made for grand ma's. I only tried these once I reached a J cup, as I struggled to find many companies that went up that size that weren't underwired, I thought, nothing to lose......WOW the fit was perfect, felt stiff when I opened package, but I thought try it on, sooooo comfortable, not at all scratchy and wide straps which were easy for me to manipulate into place with minimal pain, no shoulder pain (as big breasted girls will know, they are damn heavy and the shoulders and back take a hammering with conventional bra's') not so with Triumph Doreen comfy all day. Now I know their not the most sexy of items, but for everyday wear perfect (we can put lacy stuff on just for the right occasion, for short bursts lol. But I'm sticking to my Doreen 24/7 as I'd rather give up men lol.

I was reluctant to try this bra as it looks very old fashioned and granny-ish in the photos and real life to be honest.I’m not ancient at 42 but am getting sick of spending a lot on underwire bras only to have them try to empale me after a few months.36J isn’t an easy size to buy in any style of bra but I’ve got it in this one, it does not give you the look you get with an underwired bra, the “Doreen” gives a bit of a pointy profile with more breast to the side rather than stuck out in front. That said, you don’t have the pressure of wire underneath your breasts and I’m willing to give this a try and get used to it rather than be uncomfortable all the time.It gives really excellent support and I felt like I was stood up straighter as soon as I put the bra on,which shows it’s working. The straps are thick so not cutting into my shoulders and it has three hooks and three options on the band to fasten.I think I will get some more of these if this wears well. It’s just a shame you can’t get bras that have no wires, in 36J that look pretty and are in colours other than black, flesh and white.

My mothers review - did not fit me! ' I have been buying Doreen bras as my 'go to' staple for more years than I can remember. I am a 38K - L cup and those ladies like me who are a similar size will know just how unfair the world of bras is for us. Just because we are a large cup size, does not mean that we do not care about our lingerie being pretty like bras in smaller sizes are - of course we want attractive underwear!. Well the Doreen classic bra has not really changed over the years , it is not a thing or beauty, but it is not quite as ugly as some. I would like to see a scalloped edge for example at the top of the cup just to make it pretty. The lace covering does hold up quite well, but I do find that it can pick up specs of coloured fabrics which seem to work their way inside the lace. I keep telling myself I will splash out and spend £80 plus on another make, but I never can quite justify it on one bra, so I keep coming back to these. They do the job and if I am honest give the best shape. So while they still make them - I will keep on buying them.

Fab bra, huge but really comfortable!. The cups fully cover the breast which means no bulging out of the sides and no overspill in the front. Choose your neckline accordingly, nothing too strappy or scooped. The straps are soft and wide and give firm comfortable support. If you have a large bust the uplift will make your torso look longer. If you have a heavy bust it helps prevent slouching and backache. If you're into a vintage 50's/60's look this bra is fantastic. It would rock a black polo neck sweater. It has a real pneumatic profile and will enter the room before you do! No more apologetic slumping; stand up and stick em' out! If your bust looks like two ballistic missiles; choose your weapons."Madam, don't point those things at me unless you intend to use them!"

My son and my other half took the p!ss at first as my boobs were all of a sudden 'pointy' but I told them both to get stuffed as the bra is really comfortable.I struggle with underwired cup bras as my boobs no longer have the amount of stuffing in them as they used to. In underwired bras, every time I lean forward my boobs would spill over the top and need rearranging. But no more, this bra keeps everything where it should be, facing forward and not towards the floor. At first I felt like it was a bra my Nan would have approved of if teamed with a nice girdle and a slip (I never understood what a slip was or what purpose they served) but where the Triumph Bra is concerned,I've come round to a more traditional way of thinking.I will be buying more!

This fitted as I expected. It is comfy with lots of support. I wish it contained some natural fibre, as I have always thought net curtains to be inappropriate material for bra manufacture, but this seems to be the style. The coverage is ample - so you need to wear with modest necklines if you don't want the bra to show. Probably your traditional close fitting crew neck twin set, as this bra is out of the fifties, traditional Norse helmet style, two well defined pointy bosoms, as worn by Marilyn Munroe. These may surprise you if you are used to a more minimizing look i.e. trying to hide your assets in your armpits. The shape under loose clothes is good,if you feel the pointy look is a bit much.

I tried it on in the shops in 34G, and the cups were too small, so I ordered it online in 34H, then it fit. This is one cup larger than my usual size. I bought this hoping to get a vintage silhouette bra in my size, and it kinda does it, but the bottom and top sections of the bra are the same shape i.e the top section is NOT smaller meaning there is no uplift in this bra. The shape is just outwards triangle rather than upwards triangle, and with wear this drops to downwards triangle :( But it's still worth it for me, and very comfy around the house, although the silhouette it gives makes me feel like I could take someone's eye out, so for me, I wouldn't pop to the shops in it.

So these bras are a bit pricey but we'll worth it. I have spent loads on bras that would fit, but left me uncomfortable. I have nursed 2 children and I find it hard to look for a small bra. If you type small minimiser bra, most things see small and bra and give a list of push up, or padded things. I just wanted a good bra. I was nervous about the sizing, but it it great! Even girls with smaller breasts need a firm and supportive bra. These bras aren't ones that last a year, they are so well made that you save money buy buying this.Yes, it is old school. It makes your cleavage sorta pointy but it works! I would spend twice as much as this cost me for the happiness it gives me!

I've been wearing these bras since my early teens, and have got to the point now that won't even consider buying anything else. Ten years later and I wear these every day, and they give me so much support and are so comfortable I even wear them in place of a sports bra. They are serious quality, and survive many vigorous machine washes. If you buy a 32E it fits you, unlike other brands which you can't be sure will be anywhere near your real size. The downsides? Well, they are very granny-esque s(o not the sort of thing you'd wear on a first date!) and they do make your boobs look very pointy (which is a look I'm happy with!). Overall- thank-you very much Triumph.

I have a big heavy bust and can't stand the feel of underwires, so have really struggled to find a bra that gives me enough lift and support but isn't unbearably uncomfortable. At last I think I may have found it. It's not the most glamorous of bras but it isn't too bad in black - pity a wider range of colours don't come in larger sizes. Yes, you do have a pointier shape than an underwire would provide, but as long as you're not wearing something incredibly tight or low cut it's not that noticeable. Cut out the scratchy extra labels that have been sewn in and it's a bra that's very easy to wear. Oh, and it looks fab under a vintage style dress, unsurprisingly.

Perfect pointy - ulta support bra. Been looking for this style for years and finally found it. All bras for me are too "rounded" in the shape of the cup. This design makes a big difference in my posture - and finally - that too "rounded" look it gone. Plus under wires are not needed in this style, so another reason for me that I love this bra. There are dangers with metal/wire directly on our bodies, and because under wires are not needed in this bra construction, that makes it especially valuable. The construction actually does drastically more for support and uplift than any under wire bra I've ever owed. Bye-bye under wires! LOVE THIS BRA!!

Box very bashed about!, but bra inside undamaged.Triumph Doreen has the most comfortable shoulder straps of any I've worn. I am 36DDAnd have tram lines & soreness on my shoulders with all pretty & thin straps. I dislikeWired cups, and although with washing a lot this does eventually go off white, thatIs the only snag, and they do skin tone & black too, so no such problem there!.I am not a new customer to this bra, it was recommended to me about 30 years agoBy an 'in store' underwear specialist. So sexy it isn't, quite a pleasant look though. For me it's comfort first..girls! So willContinue with this Triumph Doreen.
