Finally a different game! After years and years of simillarly looking/playing games, this one actually feels new and exciting. If you actually give it more than 10 minutes, you'll find a great game. And actually, all that feeling of "being lost" at first is good and the part that follows comes, as you find out how the game works, you'll know you're having fun.Everything (almost) in this game is well thought of and well implemented (with several degrees of success). The trading system is good, with a decent choice of goods, and the right fluctuation of prices/availability of goods. The items/ships system is, along with the combat system, one of the strongest features in the game. Different items, with several degrees of evolution. And the research system just feels right because that way you're going to be discovering new things all the time! The combat system is just sooo good. You'll notice exactly the difference between having a good repair droid or a bad (or nonexisting) one, between a good and a bad shield, etc. The weapons scale up nicely in terms of damage, range, etc.And this is just the tip of the iceberg! You still have item/ship upgrades, probing planets, diplomacy (not a strong feature), missions, planetary combat (RTS in-game), the funny Black Hole minigame and a lot more!I rated the game 4 mainly because of the huge amount of typos (and sometimes even really bad English) and in part due to the not so good planetary combat (RTS) feature.Don't let this one slip past you. Buy iy, play it and enjoy it.

I bought this game a few months back expecting something like freelancer, get a ship, fly around trading, fighting and buy a better ship. repeat. Space rangers did all this but from such a strange angle!Pros+ The missions are well varied, fedex deliveries, hunting ships down, protecting civilians as you'd expect from a space strategy. However there are also retro text based quests which are surprisingly immersive, and metal fatigue style planetary battles (robots with guns taking over bases).+ Good range of equipment and ships+ Lots of planets, stations and the odd black hole to explore+ something i cant quite explain. But its there....+ you get space rangers 1 as well! haven't played yet,but something extra!+/- Although turn based and 2d it works well for me, but those wanting a spaceflight sim will be dissapointed.Cons- Star force protection, very bad reputation! Ive avoided it by using a Nocd patch. google for more info.- Originally foreign, some of the english isnt quite right, the translation wasnt perfect but isn't too noticeable or affecting.- Takes a little time to get used to, more than then 10 minutes the other reviewer took! Not a very good tutorial but there are many user created guides available, just search.- No obvious main quest, other than destroy all the dominators.Hope this helps, it's a hard game to review! If your into trading between planets and shooting down ships while your at it, go for it.

This game is wierd to say the least, but it works well for it.To best describe it; it's a mix between: fallout, pax imperia/mater of orion and freelancer. The training modes are although inforative, not lengthy and so you can play the game strait away. The charachter interface is immense with you being able to Trade comodities, buy and upgrade you ship, command other rangers, go to prison etc etc.some of the missions are joyfully complex but theres a choice if you want easier, normal or hard missions whilst your playing, with a dynamic universe that reacts to your movements and involvementsoverall, worth the money and has infinite replayability

The good:Not quite, but could have been a sleeperThe MOO2 (Master Of Orion) moodiness and music, 10/10Mixed with open-spaces and free-play of Elite 9/10,Simplistic yet challenging combat 6/10,Expansive and dynamic trading model 8/10.Graphics are fresh (gnarly is the word) 9/10!Addictive 9/10.The BadThe game uses pretty clear dialog, the translation is not a problem, but there is no speech! No tutorial, maybe there is one online - The game learns easily if you save every 15 minutes.Un-stoppable! 8/10
