WARNING: some may think that there are spoilers here!I purchased the title since I was an avid gamer of the first two installments for the Railroad Tycoon series.This version is much more pleasant to the eye, but it is definitely shallower as to strategic options. To sum up some little differences: railroad construction (and destruction, if you need to) is difficult to control, since the game will build lines the way it likes, and it is not easy to select the rails you want, especially if they are between two parallel lines. The stock market has less options as well.In a word, this game plays and feels like the intro movie: it's a way of building your own miniature train set more than a true tycoon game.

If you run Microsoft Vista, you will find that Railroads will randomly crash to the desktop. This is a common issue from my search through Google, so why PC gamer the people responsible for this Budget label offering, stated Vista compatibility on the box is beyond me....very misleading. Even the developers state that Railroads is not Vista compatible.

Although lacking the real fun of the old version, the graphics make up for a lot. Takes a couple of hours to really master the game, but plenty of different scenarios to make this a game that will last a very long time.

It says works in widows 7, but it isn't. I spend my money for nothing.
