First on the basic game:- Total War: Rome II got really bad reviews when it first came out and they were probably justified (buggy, crashes, bad rendering, bad gameplay mechanics).- Happily the game is now patched and is basically in the state it should have been released in 2013.- They have removed some of the awful features like capture flag on battles, improved the AI and it now runs on most systems without any hassle (see Total War forums for more details).- The game looks great and is now definitely one of the stronger in the series. Some features like provinces may not be to everyone's taste. For me it seems like Shogun 2 if that helps.On the collectors edition:- As a long time fan of the Total War series and never owned a collectors edition game,

Game seems to revolve around Food Income and Public Order. Without these both in the positive, everything will degenerate quickly.The add on Campaigns are played on bigger scale maps.The game seems to be recognisable as Rome Total War, maybe with some inspiration from Shogun II. But to be honest, its been too long since I played either for a detailed comparison. I bought it 2 years after release, which seems to be about the right amount of time for them to iron out the bugs !. There is a lot more on screen feedback for agents.There is also an innocuous little tab at the bottom of the screen, where you can tweak political actions, and take advantage of economic discoveries.It plays on Windows 10 fine,

I don't normally post reviews of products but really feel I have to for this one. I was very dubious when I ordered it...surely it can't be right...the collectors edition for £20?? but felt I had to give it a try. It arrived within 3 days of order..and the contents! A perfect set..everything included..game installed on steam with no product key issues.. amazing!So, to recap, the official collectors edition of Rome 2, for less money than the standard issue of the game. I advise everyone who is thinking of buying the game now to get this version before the suppliers regain their sanity!!

Althouth Total War: Atila has been released recently, Rome II is my favorite and all about Rome interests me. So the model and two board games are fatallly attractive to me. If you type in the code on Steam, you can play the latest version of Rome II (excluding DLCs) although the Collector's Ed was released long time before.

This normally goes for £50-£100 because it has two board games (one similar to risk; one an authentic roman game); a construable model onager and the game is in a special box. So this is worth buying at around £20. The game is on steam

Amazing battles, brilliant graphics, just fantastic strategy for everyone who likes this type of games. Must have especially for Total War fans.

I GOT THIS GAME FOR MY HUSBAND WHO IS A BIG FAN OF ROME.HE WAS REALLY PLEASED AND SURPRISED TO GET A GAME AND CATAPULT INCLUDED IN THE BOX.

Fantastic set. Bought it for my 11 year old who is over the moon with it. Items are all great, game is fab, graphics beautiful. Go for it :)
