I'd played similar games previously (I think there was a series of games under the "Emergency" brand?) so I fancied picking this up when I saw it, expecting this to be a modern update on the older games I had played.I was initially a little disappointed to see that this lacked co-op multiplayer, a feature I am sure was present in one of the Emergency games and was good fun tackling a massive blaze with a friend. However I was impressed with the option of having UK style vehicles and livery.Loading the game up I dove into a new game. It took a little while to find my way around the interface and some bits seemed a bit counter-intuitive, but I was soon given an alert and had a fire to put out.

In my own sad way I am an unashamed fan of Excalibur Games and I think, from the starting point of clearly a limited development budget, they've come up with some pretty good family sim games and they are actually improving all the time, and this is a good example of where they are at the moment. It's good that the content is UK/European orientated and it can at times be rather exciting, with a good choice of vehicles and scenarios. It's particularly good for younger members of the family, but it's equally good for a simple relaxing play for old codgers like me.Excalibur may have knocked out some howlers in the past and their games are still a bit basic, but I've always admired their verve and commitment to continually improve.

If like me you think you'll scream if you hear the FIFA 14 music again then Rescue 2013 could provide a little light relief.The premiss is you're the head honcho of the fire and rescue service. You can control loads of different types of vehicles and rescue pesky civilians from burning buildings and that. I thought my son would lose interest fairly quickly but he really stuck to it and picked it up well.For the adult the game probably isn't as entertaining for the long term but I've had a couple of goes myself and it really is quite exciting.It has its limitations but it looks nice and has pretty addictive gameplay. Recommended.

Having seen that this game has a lower age limit of three years old, I was very surprised at the complexity of this game. It is quite complex in its demands, requiring that you not only organise the fire-fighting activities of the fire station, but also that you take charge of staffing, buying fire engines, managing the fire station, etc etc. It takes time and thought to get into it, but is quite challenging and enjoyable. I am sure as I get more experienced at running the fire station, I will find it quite rewarding. A bonus is that you have the option of installing an 'English' version. Great fun!

I am a novice to this type of game and had to ask a friend's young son to show me what to do.I did enjoy the level of control you get, choosing staff, managing incidents, and trying to be a 'hero'.Not sure who it would appeal to - there seems to be such a wide choice of games available now for PCs and I am new to these.Everything seemed to work properly - sound, graphics, etc. so I am satisfied with this.

i have been waiting for this game since i saw it on the creators website when i bout the game it was cheap enough if you like simulator games where u take control of things and in charge then this is the game for you although them game is complete it never ends as you can free ply and you can also continue the story after finishing with is just the same missions again it came one day early

This is a great game for people who want to be in charge of the Fire Station as Chief Commander and also select which personnel to send out on jobs, also in this game you are in charge of the Ambulance Service.I found this game completes really quickly if you play it day after day or hour after hour.I would highly recommend taking a look at this game and also buying this game.

Great UK style design. Love these type of games. A few very minor glitches with movements of vehicles but nothing serious. Tutorial could have been better. Graphics good, really enjoyed it, fun, entertaining. Can't put it down. Loaded quickly, ran fine, started without any problems.

ive not tried any other games to compare to this one to but i like it be the team leader , build your team around you and try out all the trucks and vehicles you want great fun, instals easily and is fairly simple to play , great for the kids

This game is not the most modern looking, graphic heavy or innovative.However it is jolly good fun and my five year old plays with me. Sirens are fun! We have had a good giggle playing together and it's been 'harmless'.

this is an exciting game for a child.most are very excited by fire engines.the graphics are fairly basic.they won't mind that the game play is simple.I would make a copy because dvds soon become frisbees!

Only just got the game and loaded but i have played other emergency game in the same genre , watched clips on youtube also. I know will enjoy and some strategy required to play.
