I need to replace my existing NAS with something with a bit flexibility and power. I saw that QNAP had just released a new range of "e" models, which have the base hardware of the equivalent top spec models, just without some of the really high end features that I didn't need, such as 10 Gig links. This meant I still had the same upgrade flexibility and quad core processor but at an affordable price.It's a fantastic device with great performance, and if you buy the cheapest model that has the least RAM, it's much cheaper to then upgrade the memory yourself at a later date, if you feel it needs it.

Buy the 4gb model and replace the ram with 2 x 8gb. Migrated disks from qnap Ts453 pro, worked faultlessly. Plex works a dream. Highly recommend.
