Bought this as part of the Black Friday deal on Sunday, so it arrived Monday 20th.Unpacking the box it comes complete with:1 x NAS Drive Caddy.1 x Instruction Book2 x RJ45 Network Cables.1 x Power Unit1 x EU Power Cable - There is NO 3 pin Power Cable, so you will need to supply your own cable (sometimes called a Kettle Cable).2 x bags for screwing the hard drive into the caddy (1 set of 8 x screws in black and 1 set of 8 screws in silver)Since my old NAS box was elderly and on its way out, I moved all the files off to a safe location, then put the original drives in the QNAP TS231-P. This was a simple job and took minutes to fix to the mounts and slot back into the front. You can either initialize your hard drives via QFinder or use the web interface,I used the web to set up the IP, name, password etc, it reboots after setting the IP and device name. If it has to completely reboot, this can take about 3-4 mins. It also downloaded the latest firmware too.I configured this as a Raid 1, and the sync kicked in as a background task, so I could happily go about adding other apps, features and utilities of which there a vast number you can choose.Since I only set this up last night, I have not yet configured it for remote access, but this looks easy enough. With regards to the other reviews, the fan is extremely quiet, I am not sure why the other reviewer complained about a noisy fan as mine is whisper silent, I have no regrets buying this and it is a very slick and nice looking unit. The one thing I love about QNAP bay NAS boxes is how easy it is to remove and add drives. I have also on my system a Dlink and a Zyxel and both have the drives inside and are not swappable easily. Thecus also I have owned and they were more annoying as you had to take off the cover, remove the entire hard drive assembly chassis just to get to the screws to remove the drives! All in all a very smart, quiet, seamless NAS drive, recommended.

This replaced and old netgear mystora as I needed more space. I'm using a seagate 4tb ironwolf hdd alongside a wd nas 2tb set in jbod. I use it primarily as a dlna server but have bit backed up on it as well. I take 2 ethernet cables to get the best out of it but it's well worth it! Compared to the old nas the transfer speeds are blistering at 100mbps+ compared to only 10 on the mystora. My only criticisms are the build feels a little cheap for the money it costs being made of plastic and I would like to be able to edit the properties of sub folders on the drive but that may be down to user error.Took about 4 hours to setup for me but would have been much faster if I'd known what I was doing

Easy to setup and use, lots of functionality AND very reliable. Furthermore (having had a number of QNAPs over many years) support is good indeed if you ever needed.

I dont know what I would do without this now. It has become an integral part of my day to day life in both business and personal use

Works well but be warned does not come supplied with a UK power lead. If you have a kettle lead spare this shouldn't be a problem.
