This unit is superb and comes with a whole host of extras in the shape of Apps contained within the included software to manage and control everything. A word of warning though ... you need to know a bit about PCs, Networks, and Servers as this unit is not as simple to set up properly (fully) as is made out. The online Help Manual is not brilliant is mainly consists of owner community advice and FAQs that are not that detailed. However, if all you need is a media server that provides extra storage for your music, films, and data then it is relatively straightforward to map it as a network drive.

This is a massive step up from custom enclosures I have used before.Worked as 4gb raid from the word go, easy to setup, fast in usage, look nice - what more do you want ?Full of features as well, multiple types of server, even a server to record from IP cameras for security !!

Great solution for all round media storage at home, really cool the ability to remotely access a movie/music from anywhere with an internet connection! build in server software is very easy to use and set up!

I bought this after already owning an older Qnap. Very happy with this. Easy to set up, plenty of wizards for the novice. Great Android apps to use with it. Would recommend this for a home user.

I'm gradually getting used to it; a lot to learn & maximise the usage value. This is definitely value added for my work as well as personal data.
