The lower recommended age range for this game is 12 and it's suitable for adults - though 15 is mentioned in one product description. I played it with another adult and a 10 and 11 year old with very good reading skills and they coped well. A really bright 9 year old could probably handle playing - but not below this age.A brief basic rules summary:- Each player takes it in turn to be quizmaster - progress around the game board is made by the quizmaster rolling three dice, red, white and blue. The white dice determines how many squares the quizmaster's playing piece moves forward, and the colour of the square landed on determined which of four quiz booklets of 666 questions will be used.Taking the numbers from the red, white and blue dice in that order decides which multi-choice question will be read out by the quizmaster to the other players.A correct answer advances a player three spaces. Of the incorrect answers, one incurs no penalty, but the other is a 'klaxon' answer, which moves a player back a set number of spaces - rather like the 'klaxon' answers that lose points in the TV panel game. There is also a rule whereby a player can klaxon an incorrect answer from the previous player before giving a correct answer of their own.Playing with children we ignored that rule - and the 11 year old won, with her 10 year old brother close behind. The rules take a little bit of working out, but they aren't too bad compared with some games. It does need a minimum number of three players to play as described - you'd have to tweak the rules to play with two, but it would be possible. We also dispensed with the battery powered klaxon as rechargeable batteries aren't recommended and that's all we had. It made no difference to the game.Adults and children both really enjoyed the game, which took around half an hour to complete - it could have gone on much longer, but an average game wouldn't be much shorter than this.It would be possible to play this with someone without good reading skills if they are able to spell out challenging words and have no difficulties with comprehending questions. It doesn't bear much resemblence to the TV show other than in the fact that some of the facts revealed in answers are quite interesting! We spotted no grammatical errors in questions but others have highlighted this - it wouldn't have spoiled our enjoyment.A good family game for older children.

At last, someone has finally produced a board game based on the popular TV show QI.The game consists of a board marked out with numbered squares, a token for ach player, a klaxon and some 864 questions in four booklets, along with the answers and a lot of quite interesting facts. Starting at the centre of the board, you answer questions moving either forward or backwards depending on if you get the answer right wrong, or the `klaxon' answer. The winner is the one to reach the end of the board (either the highest positive OR negative score) first. The game is simple to understand, and great fun to play. The questions are of a similar level to those seen on the program. The associated factoids are fascinating. It's a great trivia game for those who like games such as trivial pursuits and the like. There is a good range of questions, but I suspect it won't be to many plays before you find yourself repeating them, hopefully there will be more question booklets released in the future. A word of warning, it is really a game for more than two players, more of a party game than an evening entertainment for two people. A most excellent game, five stars.

I bought this game as a Christmas present for my wife (she also bought one for me which went back to University with our daughter). It is relatively easy to learn and great fun to play. It is a little like Snakes and Ladders where the pieces are moved by a throw of the dice and you move up or down the board depending on whether you answer the questions correctly, incorrectly or get "claxoned". A battery powered claxon comes with the game and makes a fair bit of noise. Players take it in turns to ask the questions and the other players are given a choice of three possible answers. There are well over two thousand questions. We've played it five or six times and only one question has come up twice (when we asked an adjacent question.)An excellent game to play with friends and family and is suitable for most ages including children who show an interest in the world about them.

The QI Board Game is fun but the rules might be improved, for example by allowing any player other than just the following one to challenge an answer given by another player. The scoring system should also be improved by more rewards and penalties for correct or wrong answers. With the current rules there are insufficient incentives for interaction between players that is a large part of the enjoyment. It is also not clear who wins as according to the rules it does not seem to be the player who gets to an end space first. Another serious criticism is that there are insufficient questions since we found after only playing four rounds with four people that the same questions were being repeated.Supplementary question books are needed.Overall a fun game but could be improved.

I purchased this game due to the fact that I am an avid fan of the show. I had read reviews about how cumbersome and flawed the rules are and I must admit that I agree to a certain extent. However, once a few alterations are made to the rules, the game becomes hugely entertaining.I played the game with 4 people and once we had made a few alterations, we had a game that lasted 2 hours. It was a great game, that contained lots of interesting facts and information and the lead was continually changing. The variety in questions are excellent and you'll come away with some interesting knowledge to share with others. Furthermore,it is amusing to get the klaxon and this doesn't always happen with just the most obvious answers!Overall this game is well worth the money.

I got this for Christmas, and have played it lots over the holidays. The first time playing with a visiting friend and her children, the kids (both teens) easily understood the rules. It is not that difficult, even if the rules are a bit vague in places. I understood the winner to be the one nearest the top right of the board when any player reaches the one of the "game ends" squares, usually the player who reaches the top right "game ends" square (ie. if someone is badly klaxoned all the way to the bottom left of the board the game ends, but it is the player nearest the top right who wins). Like the TV show, most of the questions are obscure and/or trick questions. Just guess!

For better or worse this is good fun. It's quite random how the game works and it took some time to work out the rules. It is correct to say that there is no obvious stategy to this game but for a bit of adult fun and nonsense this does the trick. The questions are amusing and like the TV show quite absurd but by using a bit of nouse it is often possible to know the answer to Qs. Failing a card game this isn't bad

I played this game for the first time yesterday, and really enjoyed it. Yes, it's not much like the show, but that's to be expected. The rules aren't as complicated as people on here are making out, but there are a couple of situations where you have to extrapolate what you need to do. The questions are interesting, and the answers informative. I recommend.

This needs to be played a couple of times before you get the hang of it as there are colour-coded booklets and some marginally complicated scoring. Totally worth the prep when you get the debate going with your team, stimulated with expected random and bizarre questions! Would maybe be better with an app or DVD!

love the show and love the game just as much. It says suitable for 3-6players but i often play it with only 2players just ask each other questions instead of having a dedicated question master. lots of random questions which is good and always feel like ive learnt something after playing

Great game, only drawback is getting used to finding the right question which can be quite confusing at first but after a few goes is fine! Good fun with the family or with friends, can play as teams, in pairs or a single person!

This game is so much fun and no where near as complicated as some reviewers have suggested! Provides hours of entertainment and we managed to modify the rules slightly to allow just 2 people to play.

very like the tv show same type of questions. Klaxon sounds like the real one, but you have to provide your own batteries. I did not do very well I was the alan davies.

My dad loves QI and when I saw this was out I had to get it for him. This was the cheapest I could find it anywhere and i'm very pleased with the service I received.
