I've been badgered by a friend for info on what is a good turntable to buy to compliment his new valve amplifier and Mordaunt Short speakers I was reluctant to offer advice on, what is, a very personal preference. However, I visited another friend, who has one of these impressive pieces of kit, and I was so impressed that I shared my feelings with friend #1, who, not having an Amazon account, asked me to purchase for him. Well, obviously, I had to have a listen. What's not to love. This deck is stripped back to the bare essentials. What's not to love? The motor on/off switch is in a silly position, but that is all that can be considered against. Eventually,I had to hand it over to friend #1.I have compared this with my JVC linear tracking deck, and seriously considering getting a Project to replace the JVC, now. Its a perfect entry level HiFi deck.Subsequently, friend #4, a serious hifi buff, has expressed his regret about giving away his old vinyl kit in favour of CDs, and is also considering getting a Project turntable.

Oh I love the ritual of vinyl, not that I think records are actually better than good digital, but the sound engineering normally has to be, so my old Rega 3 motor going weird I thought replace the motor or just replace the deck. I obviously opted for the latter and I'm not disappointed, this deck is great delivering a very neutral sound which seems particularly good on classical and jazz, maybe a bit weak on some oomph as in bass for your rock lover but as Rock and Rap is more something I play when I'm escaping into juvenalia that's not a problem. It's playing through the Sony blutooth receiver which is a beaut and old Mordaunt Shorts, I'm pretty sure when I wire up the floor standing TDL's I have the bass will be there.Great value and just love the minimalism.

I bought this as an entry level turntable having not owned a turntable since the late 1990's. It is robust and very sturdy. it is easy to use and the sound is lovely. I did quite a lot of research which suggested that Pro-Ject were the turntables to own and I then had to decide which model. I was going to buy the Debut Carbon but at over £300 was a little rich for my requirements given that I only own about 4 records! I am sure the Debut carbon is a superior turntable but the Elemental is perfect for my needs.I am using it with the Pro-Ject Phono Box Pre-Amp via a Cambridge Audio Amp and Mordaunt Short speakers.

A slightly novel cut down approach to turntable design. The large 'stone' base gives stability and a bit of mass to the cross arm that the pickup arm and motor are mounted on. The turntable itself just sits in bearings which are very smooth and don't seem to contribute any rumble. The drive is through a belt, a long thin 'o' ring that you fit to one or other pulley groves on the motor to give 33 or 45 rpm, there isn't any other accessible speed adjustment. It looks cute and plays well.Just make sure that you don't make the edge of the platter slippery and get a spare belt!

5 stars (for the price). It's 12 years since my last turntable was destroyed so virtually any turntable would sound great. Nice open soundstage, good attack though no great depth to the base (not a problem to me). If I had to be critical of the sound it would be it is a little bright, but not as bright as CD playback. The look is obviously personal taste, but for someone like me the very basic controls (specifically the belt) present some difficulty (fat finger syndrome) but this is not insurmountable.

I purchased this TT purely on the reviews here, I was a little sceptical by the reviewer claiming it sounds as good as a Linn Deck, but having owned some high end turntables in my time the comparison was seriously not that far from the truth, it sounds fantastic ! Love the look as well, I purchased with the 'Pro-Ject PhonoBox' and they work perfectly together. Very pleased with my purchase, and I'm one of those picky people ! Highly recommended quality product. No regrets here

I chose this turntable based on all the other reviews ive read.Although this isnt the most expensive turntable on the market, im more than happy with the quality that it provides, and would highly recommend it to anyone looking at getting into vinyl playing.

Extra good quality for the money. No need to purchase a more expensive turntable as this does just as well and is a beautiful piece of furniture. Fast delivery and very well protected for delivery. Would definately recommend the seller 100%.

Fantastic record player - very simplistic but makes records sound breath taking. The only problem here of course is that I ordered it from Richer Sounds in Sheffield as the one I ordered via Amazon turned up smashed to bits.

Really smart looking turntable, terrific for the price. The sound quality is great. Needs a pre-amp before it can be connected to most speakers (which is something important to note) Really happy with it.

Fantastic bit of kit. I look for 3 things when buying audio equipment...... How does it sound, perform and look. This turntable is 10 outta 10 on all 3. Just make sure you get a wooden base to put it on.

Really pleased with the look and quality of this record player. Drive band a little difficult to get on but once it's on it is fine

I love it! got to have patience though, can be a bit fragile and fiddly, definitely not for the clumsy music lover.
