I am writing this review as a long term user of this product. I purchased my PitROK in March 2012 and have used it almost every day since. It has survived being dropped into a sink (a large piece broke off) and has since been worn down to a smooth surface again through use. The best thing about this product is it lasts for a LONG time. I have had one for almost a year and a half and I'm not even close to ordering another. The other thing I love about this is it is completely scentless, which means you can wear any aftershave/perfume you want (as little as you want) without feeling like it is being overpowered by a cheap deodorant scent. Also,as it is not a liquid product you can take it onto a plane no problem; it's a small point but one very much appreciated when you're rushing to catch a flight as it means you can just throw it in your carry on and you don't have to mess around opening a case and cramming it inside. Onto the only negative I can think of: You do still get white marks (especially if you rub the crystal around a lot), but they are washed out easily and are a lot less noticeable than the white marks from normal deodorants, even on a Black shirts they are not particularly easy to see. I think the white marks might be avoided by allowing the skin to dry completely before dressing and by rubbing the crystal on the skin as little as possible.This product has increased in price by almost £2 since I bough it, but I'd buy it again in a heart beat. I used to spend about £4 every few months buy the subtlest scent antiperspirant I could find (as all deodorants I used failed to prevent odour for the whole day) but this wasn't ideal as I got sores under my arms from clogged pores. Since I've been using PitROK I've been completely odour free and haven't had a single sore. I can sweat without worrying that I'm going to smell bad, so it's a good confidence booster too. Finally, there are days when I haven't bother showering and the deodorant I applied the morning before was still adequate to see me into the evening without me stinking the room out. That's over 24 hours of protection. I honestly can't recommend this product enough, the only thing that might make me hesitate to do so is if I'm talking to somebody who shaves under their arms (poorly) or who otherwise suffers from cuts to the area. The deodorant is highly astringent (in fact you can use it to stop a bleed from shaving) and will sting like hell if you get it into a cut. Not a bad thing since it stops bleeding and helps prevent infection, but if I had to endure that stinging every day I wouldn't be pleased.

If you're reading this you're probably sick of your usual anti-perspirant either a) not being effective, b) are sick of horrible marks & stains on your clothes, c) concerned about health risks of antiperspirants, BUT you're probably also a bit skeptical as to how a lump of ol' 'crystal' can possibly be effective?? Well, i was exaclty that same skeptic, but I've been using crystal doedorants exclusively for about 2 yrs now & want to advise any potential buyers to take the plunge with Pitrok - it REALLY DOES WORK!! I am a bloke in my 30's & I tend to run very hot - in the past I would plaster antiperspirant under me pits but this Pitrok provides day long odour protection with out all that 'orrible chemical stuff & dodgy supposedly 'masculine'smell (I don't want my doedornat to be battling with my expensive after shave thanks!). It also doesn't make my skin feel like it's being choked (my skin just generally feels 'better' & healthier since using this), AND I have no more horrible stains on my work shirts - these horrible stains that eventually build on clothing are actually NOT just sweat - they are formed when sweat mixes with the nasty chemicals in your antiperspirant & thus leave those 'orrible yellowy hard stains on your clothes: crystal deodorants do NOT cause these build ups so you'll find your clothes will not get ruined - try the comparison yoursel with a nice new shirt & ONLY using Pitrok - you'll see you will NOT get that horrible build up (obviously it won't help an already damaged garment though). They don't STOP you sweating but sweating is an essential process, & for me these deodorants have been a quiet revolution & I don't know why they are not more widely known of - I hope more people catch on!!I bought my last pitrok on15/10/11 & am just about to buy my next one now today on 11/4/12, so it has basically lasted me 6 months (& I really plaster it on as I get out of the shower!) - an utter bargain for about £4!! Less waste & landfill too - so everyone's a winner, including the planet! :o) Just give it a try - for 4 quid what have u got to lose (apart from £4, obviously)?!PS Pitrok seems to be the nicest one of these i've used & the packaging is very stylish!

I have never written a review without being prompted but I have comeback to write this. If you are in 2 minds about trying this then for sake of a fiver please do.If it's not for you or you don't like it, then you've only wasted the cost of of couple of brand name antiperspirant/deodorant . If like me,you will be converted. I'm only keen to know if this is the best brand or there are others I may prefer.I had read that it was not an antiperspirant but generally in hot weather I need to go & reapply because I feel wet to touch & uncomfortable. Over these past few very hot days, I have felt perfectly comfortable, dressed formally. Only under my arms though,I wish I had rubbed this on my back & chest!!!The trick must be to use it very wet. Otherwise it just rubs the skin. If you have dried off a little after getting out of the bath or shower, just splash a bit of tepid water under your arms & rub away. I do so very liberally because there is no instruction on how much or little to apply or for how long. I just then dry, everywhere else, hair & make up & get dressed. No waiting for sticky stuff to dry & no feeling not dry & needing talc.I've read somewhere, probably on here, to just dry the top to make it last longer so will do so.As for scent, it's strange. Maybe the slightest whiff of 'exertion' mixed with my soap. Certainly not unpleasant, very surprisingly so. And somehow nicer than all those scented products I used to have to try in supermarkets .... far too much choice & some are sickly!!Thanks to all earlier positive reviewers who swayed me as I pondered as to whether to try or not.It took me a week before I dared use it for work & took a spray with me, just in case. Didn't need it!!!

I had never been sweaty or suffered from B.O in my entire life until I reached the menopause and then out of the blue, horror of horrors, I started to suffer with B.O. I tried all manner of different, strong and expensive anti-perspirants which had no affect on my embarrassingly smelly pits whatsover. This wasn't at all surprising when I took the trouble to research the science behind B.O and discovered that it isn't the sweating which causes the smell, rather the bacteria which rapidly multiply on the surface of your skin.After a bit of research I found Pitrok - a 'hippy crystal stick' - surely this wouldn't work?? How wrong I was. The results were immediate which was totally amazing.No more nasty niffs in the pits.You have to get used to it though. Firstly, it works by stopping the bacteria multiplying so you have to apply it to still damp pits IMMEDIATELY after showering/washing. Because I'm still paranoid, I usually give my pits a second wash with anti-bacterial hand-gel before applying the stick quite liberally. Secondly, you have to wait a minute or two until it dries before dressing. Also, because it isn't an anti-perspirant, you will still sweat if that's what happens to you normally which can cause an uncomfortable sticky feeling at times which you can't help sniffing at regular intervals 'just in case'. Sweat is mainly just water though so it isn't smelly and doesn't leave a tide mark. I also have to say that to start with, my pits did suffer from a bit of discomfort and redness which I think is a small price to pay. I'm imagining that it has something to do with being freshly shaved which is putting me off shaving a bit now.All in all, very well worth it.

I had read about this somewhere on the internet so I checked the reviews on Amazon - all good. I initially purchased it from Boots about 3 or 4 months ago, and have recently purchased one from Amazon, (warning they package it very badly).Since I started using it about 4 months ago I noticed an instant difference. This really does work and more or less totally eliminates the nasty classic B.O. Only when you have really physically exerted yourself there may be possibly a slight hint of B.O. starting to emerge, but unlikely.Note this is not scented in any way. Therefore if you wish to give off a fresh scent as well then you must spray some deodorant over the top of it after your arm pit is dry,(but only a bit).Also because you have to apply it to a wet arm pit make sure you do not rub it off when drying your self from the shower / bath. If you think of it as a classic `roll on' you wouldn't go rubbing that off after applying. Therefore to dry either let your arm pits dry naturally, (which can take forever) after using or do what I do and use a hair dryer to speed things up - it works for me, then spray a bit of Lynx on top to give off a scent.This deodorant is an incredible invention and also has lasted now about nearly 4 months and I still have approximately 1/4 of it remaining. If any of you have B.O. problems and just cant find one that works then I strongly recommend you try this. It's almost certain it will work for you, hopefully.Only draw back is it's a bit expensive - but worth it.Cheers,Miles

I’ve been using this everyday for 4 months and I think it’s got at least another 3 months (maybe more) left. You don’t need much. It has no scent. You don’t get product build up like other natural deodorants. And my armpits smell fresh the next morning (24 hours after application)! I never write reviews, I’m totally in awe of this product.I have a beauty product review account on Instagram where I share my views on premium products (triedbymebeauty) and I will have to add this to my page! This to me is a premium product! Really don’t know how it works like it does. But just WOW!My journey to natural deodorants was due to my drugstore standard aluminium based deodorant(s) stopped working on me.I smelt for the first time in my life! It really scared me. I detoxed my armpits with all kinds of natural clays, cider vinegar etc. I also switched to natural deodorants, and used many. Some didn’t work and others gave me product build up where I had to get my armpits waxed every 4 weeks so it would remove the layer of buildup. It’s been a challenging journey.And now.... I have pitrock! 4 months in and I’m truly blown away (talk about longevity)! I’m now buying another one for my son (still trying to convince my husband to ditch chemical based deodorants)!I doubt I will ever try anything else.Honestly you will not regret it!

I have tried (what feels like) almost all natural deodorants after becoming allergic to the usual supermarket fare. Pitrok is best used just as you are coming out of the shower (when you are wet anyway) and applied liberally (you can't just do a quick swipe like you would with a normal deodorant, you really need to give it a good rub around). If you apply by wetting it and rubbing it onto dry skin it is nowhere near as effective.However I find it doesn't quite last the whole day and I miss having a scent. But I have not yet found any natural deodorant for me that does last the whole day, and of all the ones I've tried this one lasts the longest.So I team it up with another natural scented deodorant and then I can make a whole day without stinking out my family, friends & colleagues even on a hot day. As it is odourless and you can't feel it at all, it's easy to layer with anything else you wish to apply.I bought this in July last year, and I still haven't even used half (and that is with applying it daily) so it's v cost effective for a natural deodorant and means I'm OK with the added cost of using this as my deodorising base layer!(Also Re. the stinging after shaving, I did find that to begin with, but think my skin has now got used to it and it doesn't sting anymore)

I'd been diagnosed with an early breast cancer and was recommended this deodorant to use during radiation treatment. I don't know how it works, but it does. When it arrived, I was surprised to find a dry crystal I followed the instructions and slightly wet the crystal with my fingertips before applying. It has no odor at all and you don't see any of it after application. I was sceptical. I'm having hot flushes regularly, so I didn't give this deodorant much of a chance to keep me from being a bit stinky after a few hours. Yet after a long day, several hot flushes, radiation treatment, cooking at home, etc. I was amazed that I didn't smell at all, even checking my armpit odor, it was still fresh.Fluke perhaps? So day 2; same result. The thing is that in our household, we go through plenty of deodorants each year with two teenage boys and a husband. Pitrok is purported to last a year, so financially and environmentally, it's a real winner. I've ordered more now and only wish I'd been put onto it years ago. I cannot recommend it enough. Pitrock folks, do get some advertising done. I only found out about it because of my cancer but with plastics being such an issue now for the environment, this fantastic product should be on everyone's shopping list.

Shower, roll on clean arm pits, let to dry while dressing or using hair dryer if in a hurry. Enjoy your day. Not sticky, no horrible while marks on clothing and none of this disgusting BO / deodorant mix after hard exorcise.My ultimate test was a busy morning followed by a hot, sunny afternoon offroad cycle of 30 miles. At this point everything stank. Put my clothes on to drive back home, no one said I smelt when asked (family is usually honest), my cycle gear smelt a little, but I'm wearing the clothes I changed into a few days later and they don't actually stink!A few weeks before I got the product I did a day mountain walk with pack and the BO / deodorant smell mix on my clothes the next day was horrible.Not to mention the while marks on my top, the slight irritation from the roll on and the slightly sticky feel as it dries.No one wants to be 'that guy' in the office, but I'm shocked that it really does work. All by simply neutralizing the bacteria created from festering sweat rather than trying to stop a natural thing. My under arms simply smell of the soap I washed with and tops can be worn longer without getting while marks on them.Possibly one of the most 'life changing' every day products I've picked up in a long time.

Pitrok is absolutely amazing!I have always had problems with deodorants- purchasing both sprays & roll on anti perspirants.I've always been either allergic to them or they stop working.After becoming vegan I was looking for a deodorant without all the nasty ingredients, vegan andnot tested on animals. I read everyone's reviews and thought I would give Pitrok a try.I was very wary as it is a 'deodorant' crystal rather than an anti-perspirant so had visions ofwet underarms (which really isn't very appealing!)Anyone who uses a roll on knows you have to wait around for it to dry.It is no different with the Pitrok except you wet your underarms first & then roll the crystal over.At first sight itlooks like nothings happen so tend to keep rolling it across to make sure it's doing something!Believe me it is! Takes about 2 minutes to dry approx.Since I've been using Pitrok I have not gone back to a normal deodorant- its excellent!I carried an anti-perspirant in my bag for a week.. but then realised it wasn't needed.I think the crystal will last months and months aswell.. possibly years! It doesn't look like its gone down!Buy one- you have nothing to lose!

I was introduced to this fantastic deodorant by my boyfriend a couple of months ago (hoping it wasn't a hint!) who also uses it. I have sensitive skin and can't use aerosol deodorants as they give me a rash and I've found most roll-ons seem to become ineffective after a while. I sweat a looooot (medication side effect) and PitRok does not reduce this however I am convinced I smell fresher using it and without the nasty chemicals in standard deodorants.I've been using it since May and it has taken me a wee while get used to it, mostly for the reason that it has no scent. I've become so used to the artificial scents in all regular deodorants - even the 'unscented'ones - that it's genuinely taken me a while to get used to the lack of smell, or the lack of artificial smell.One small drawback - save yourself agony and do not use immediately after shaving. I've found I need to wait a day to use again, which is a bit of a pain but c'est la vie.For convenience I still use regular roll-on deodorant every now and again but I'm so pleased to have been introduced to this product and have been zealously telling all my pals about it - I heartily recommend.

What a truly great product! It totally works, is probably far safer/healthier/more environmentally friendly than the alternatives and is certainly cheaper than paying for endless aerosol cans of products designed to cover up smells (rather than prevent them, as this stuff does).Before the PitRok, I was using a crystal deodorant shaped like a bar of soap. The formula of that product was probably much the same and indeed, it worked just as well. So well, in fact, that I bought three of them! As they're reckoned to last a year each, I thought that I was covered for a while. What I hadn't reckoned on was the fact that those bars became extremely slippery with wet hands and, one by one,I dropped them all on my tiled bathroom floor and reduced them to a handful of (messy to sweep up), sharp crystals. The PitRok's container is much easier to grip and I haven't dropped mine yet (after 3 or 4 months of use).I can't recommend these things highly enough and would just encourage everyone (for once) to 'believe the hype'!

I am not sure it is possible to be evangelical about a deodorant or say it is "life-changing" but this has been such an epiphany, I am compelled to review for first time ever! I bought this in line with a drive to reduce household plastic waste, also because children were fed up of being gassed with aerosol deodorant. Am not a sweaty person, but even with the 48 hour deo, at end of day there be that horrid deo smell tinged with a bit of sweat - ugh. Really did not expect this to work. But have been using for past few weeks in some of the hottest Summer weather and it is AMAZING! Roll on after a shower, let dry and complete protection all day with NO gross deo smell and completely blocks ALL odour,even the faintest tinge! Was so evangelical, forced husband to buy and could not believe how well it worked. He spent all yesterday traipsing over London in 28 degrees and was fresh as a daisy when he arrived home. Even he is impressed. I shall never ever revert to former deodorant habits - a great discovery!

id first heard about crystal deoderants from a friend a few years back who i suspected was having a mental breakdown and was becoming a complete hippy. thankfully she is relatively happy in hippy land, but thought id try this after reading about the problems with conventional deoderants. i was flabbergasted at well how something which when applied feels like it isnt even imparting anything to the skin, works in eliminating odour altogether.if my research is correct, and im not turning into a flakey hippy myself, this product still contains aluminium in the form of ammonium alum, which i would have preferred was better explained in the description,but thats as much my fault for not conducting timely research as anything else.in terms of the product, it works incredibly well. in fact a few weeks into using it and now writing a review, im still somewhat unsure as to whether its some sort of black magic.five stars for the magic. excellent product. (with aluminium still)

This does pretty much what it says it will - but for me it's better than that because I don't like the way most deodrants smell, I don't like putting god knows what onto my skin so I don't sweat, and I dont like the fact that whatever it is eventually builds up on my shirts and is invulnerable to household detergents (so what is it doing to me?).You put this on after a shower/bath and yes if it's hot you'll sweat but you don't smell sweaty afterwards - in fact even after a heavy day in the recent heat my shirts, although needing to be washed, don't really smell of anything very much. You'll have to take my word for it,I've tried thrusting my laundry under the noses of my family and they say it's fine but maybe they're being tolerant.Looks like it'll last quite a while too.The only downside is having to applying it to wet clean skin, I have a shower every morning so it's ok for me, but if your hygene arrangements differ your experience may not be the same.
