On first impressions the noise (clicking sound) that the item made when turning the round circle thing to make the deodrant appear in the top was extremely loud. Everyone would know you were using it or at least asking what the noise was. Not a spray sound but a loud click one. A nice shape though that fits into your hand easily and easy to use as it comes out easily. After a few uses though it might need a clean over as a build up of the deodrant might be on the surface of the item with it being used under your arms everyday.A few years ago I used a product very much like this one (the new thing was deodrants in a tube thing, rather like this (push up rather than spray),as there were links supposed to be with sprays and cancers. Whether or not this is true am not sure and not being an expert would leave that to the one's that are. Manufacturers are always on the look out for making items better and new ways in which to sell the item but more geared towards todays outlooks on the environment, how much better than previous items etc. I am just wondering what the 'best' or 'most advanced' will become when those items labelled as that will then be upgraded, the best of the best or the more advanced of the advanced. The smell of this item was that of the same of the Dove soap, a clean but soapy smell, it might not be everyone's scent but if soapy is one you like then this could be one to try. Safe to use on all skin types (but it does say as normal on things these days that if it does cause an irritation to stop using it). However it is quite expensive, when you look at how many buy one get one free offers there seem to be and half price offers, this does seem expensive. Alright I know it comes in a box along with a little leaflet but does it really have to cost so much?I did like the fact that even with having a bad cold and sore throat it didn't make me cough whilst using it, some sprays do irritate the throat when using them if having a cough, this didn't with it being a cream. Aso though an ideal time to try it as with feeling hot and clammy and not just with it being warm, I would put it through a good test.It does feel a little strange at first (more like putting a cream under your arms) if you normally use a spray deodrant. But it does seem to work, well used some yesterday evening after a bath, woke up this morning after a hot night, showered this morning after doing loads of housework, used it again and no damp marks on clothes. I just tend to find that the smell of the item seems to come out more (soapy). The skin under my arms feels soft and no rash or itchy feeling so far, I do have sensitive skin and some roll on deodrants do make me feel itchy and not as though I have put deodrant on. This isn't the case so far with Dove.Another good thing is first thing in the morning at least you won't be able to grab the wrong item and instead of hairspray using deodrant. It has happened to me in the past, with this Dove item no problem with that.As of now I am giving it a four star rating as I think it is a great product but expensive, plus also with it not being one anyone else can use in the house (spray on deodrants other household members can share/use) with this not really possible. At least then no one else can go off with your deodrant with this, but just wait for the shouts of "run out of deodrant" from other members of the family.

Saturday: read the instructions and found out I was to put it on at night, sleep in it, shower as usual and expect it to work. Surprised, but did what it said.Sunday: spent most of the day at the computer. Armpits were dry as a bone and felt curiously suede-like, not like my own skin usually does. Applied the stuff at night again. Noted that packaging (and there is masses of packaging) doesn't mention armpits but talks about underarms, a word I think Unilever must have invented like backknees or solefeet.Monday: Shower. Drive three hours, day out learning archery and how to shoot tin cans with an air-rifle, drive back, followed by yoga. This would normally be a pretty sweaty day out.Armpits were still dry but the area about them was a bit damp, as if the sweat had decided that it had to escape from somewhere so it went for my shoulderblade and rib skin instead. Decided not to put it on that night to see if it really does last 48 hours.Tuesday: Shower. Yoga, into town for a meeting, more yoga. Armpits still dry.Wednesday: After exactly 60 hours, following a shower, my armpits started to drip sweat. The magic had worn off and they went back to normal like Cinerella's ballgown turning to rags at midnight. My armpits finally felt like my own skin again. I used a different anti-perspirant that doesn't rule quite so absolutely over my armpit domain. So yes, I give it five stars for doing exactly what it says it does.Except that idiotic bit of writing on the box that says "Features a signature fragrance to leave you feeling clean, fresh and beautiful." Beautiful? Don't be ridiculous. In fact the fragrance has the scary synthetic note like the one you get with fake tan, hair removal cream and that appalling Retin-A face cream that you can detect on business women from the other side of the train. It made my cat leap off her warm blanket and run out of the room yelling. So yes, it works, but it makes me feel unnatural. I wave my armpits about a lot doing yoga in front of a whole class so I do want something tough; that's why I tried it in the first place, but I can't help feeling this one's gone a bit too far. It's obviously a whole new generation of anti-perspirant technology (and I wish it had been around when I was a teenager, playing clarinet solos in school concerts - I still have nightmares about the sweat patches) and it's a whole new price too. What's in it? Gold dust?So if your sweaty armpits (or moist underarms if you prefer) are giving you hell, go for it, because it works.

I'm a bit obsessed with all bath and beauty products that smell feminine and clean, and already use the Dove range, so I grabbed this new product.I read the leaflet before trying it, and was pleased to see that even though it is marketed as a 48hr deodorant and anti-perspirant that HAS TO BE PUT ON AT NIGHT, AFTER A BATH/SHOWER, it also works with a shower in between without having to be reapplied (though you can top it up in the morning, without a shower). So, I tried it last night: the instructions say to twist a few times so that the inner core of deo cream comes up to the little holes that dispense it (looks like a showerhead), but the few times ended up being about 25 twists before the cream was visible. It then said to press 2 more times for sufficient deo for an underarm, and yes, that was right and the cream rubbed straight into my skin without any residue, rubbed in easily as if it were a body-cream, and left a lovely, clean, lingering fragrance, that I could still get whiffs of during the night.Come morning, I was cool and dry and as it was a Sunday, I did get dressed without showering, and without using more of it. At the latter part of the day, I still feel cool and dry, but cannot smell the product (could also not smell it when I got dressed) which is not the case with Dove sprays that I normally use in the morning, the smell of which lasts for about 12 hours, and yet I cannot smell any sweat either. It's just as if I'd showered with non-scented gel in the last few minutes, i.e. clean, unscented skin, and I feel clean and not at all grubby. As we are really not having much of a summer, I am going to stick to the product as meant to, and will update this review IDC, but on the face of it, it does 'just what it says on the tin'!Cons: I did only get one roll-on, though the amazon-vine pack is meant to contain three, and looking at the RRP, I am not sure, despite the initial promising results, that I would want to pay what amounts to roughly an hours' wage after tax for 1 roll-on. I mean, with a deo spray, several people can use that, as there's no contact with the skin, but this would obviously have to be for personal use, and rather costly at that. Did the manufacturers not think about the RRP and sole person use when designing the product???

I'm not generally one to make my perspiring armpits the topic of general conversation, and so when I was sent a full size sample of the new Dove Maximum Protection deodorant to review as part of a buzz marketing campaign, the odds of me reviewing it and sharing my thoughts amongst friends were less than slim. Although, the campaign came at a freakishly perfect time as only recently I was complaining that any deodorant I tried was failing to keep my underarms dry. Any top I wore that touched my underarms, no matter how lightly, almostly immediately displayed a less than attractive wet patch for all to see. So much so that I'd even taken to wearing sleeveless tops throughout the winter. HOWEVER,I decided to put this Dove Maximum Protection through some proper test situations. I've put it through the usual temperature changes in our fluctuating office environment, a sprint for a train in a tight fitting suit jacket, a new business pitch with 45 minutes of quick fire questions, and a selection of tight full sleeved tops. On every occasion it has delivered on it's promises and I can honestly say it has kept my underarms completely dry. The only down sides were that it takes a little longer to dry than other deodorants, and it tends to leave a white residue which comes off on your clothes if you apply a little too much. I wasn't too keen on the fragrance of the one I tried Original Clean. It has a gentle hint of the pot porri they put in the ladies toilets of the local working mens club only my opinion. That aside, I'll definitely be spending my hard-earned money on my own supply once this ones runs out.

I really liked this 'new' anti-persperant/deoderant. From reading other people's comments, it seems that most never actually read the instructions inside the pack. I suppose they're not to be blamed for this - who needs instructions for a deoderant? However, the negative comments on working the product and it being 'damp' after use suggest that people didn't use it properly so it's no surprise that they didn't like it.It is indeed, different. In the first place,t hey suggest using it at night. It took me a few days to get used to this, but I got into it in the end, by keeping it on my bedside table rather than in the bathroom. The scond thing to remember is that it works even after showering. So I attempted a shower and an underarm shave a good 8 hours after using. Sure enough, I remained perfectly dry for the whole rest of the day.I also tried shaving underarms the morning after use and exactly the same - dry all day.As a further test I took a hot bath one morning rather than my usual quick shower and let myself just soak, but still stayed dry till bedtime. The only time I was let down a bit was leaving it for 36 hours when, unsurprisingly, I noticed a bit of dampness.I can only say that this product definitely works. The price is not too high if you get your three-pack (as a Vine reviewer I only got the one), so if you feel you need 24-hour 'protection', then buy it.Negative: Is it vital for you to stay 'fresh' when asleep? If not, you can get a perfectly good anti-persperant/deoderant for half the price.

If you follow the manufacturer's instructions, then it works as advertised, and it does not mark your clothes. BUT, if you are in a hurry and treat it (wrongly) as just another quick dash of deodoriser before nipping out then beware of marks on your clothes. When correctly used it takes quite a while to soak in and completely dry off, and it is best applied the night before (to allow the magic aluminium and zirconium compound time enough to close the pores in the skin), followed by a shower the next morning. Yes, it has that standard ingredient found in most anti-perspirants, so if you are allergic to it or concerned about aluminium poisoning (some are)then avoid it.It also has the usual moisturiser and perfume commonly found in Dove products, so is quite pleasant to use, leaving the skin nice and soft. The applicator has a very fine ratchet, and since the stick of gel is some way down inside the tube it takes a few dozen clicks to bring it up to the perforated end of the applicator. Two clicks seem to be the right amount for an armpit. The protective cover is a good fit and will not fall off in a toiletry bag. This is very much a personal item, not something one is going to share, and considering the substantial outlay required to own it, I expect most will guard it quite jealously. SWMBO took immediate possession of my single-pot Vine sample, and I'm pleased with the results. She even said she might even buy some more when this one runs out - if she can find a good deal.

I have used cream deodorants before, I like how they glide onto your skin and dry quickly however I haven't yet found one that really works as an effective, long lasting deodorant and anti-perspirant. Cue:Dove Maximum Protection. The product is simple to use, the packaging looks quite nice and I would be happy to leave it sitting out in my bathroom or bedroom. To use Dove Maximum Protection, you twist the small dial in the base of the stick and some cream deodorant is pushed through the holes at the top.The cream glides on very easily and absorbs into the skin. It dries almost instantly: this is one of my "must" requirements in a deodorant. In terms of performance, I was pleasantly surprised.I have used other dove deodorants in the past and have found that they do not tend to go the distance when it comes to feeling fresh after a long and stressful day at work. However, it did surpass my expectations. After a day at work, a long commute and a networking evening event, I still felt fresh, didn't smell and wasn't sticky or sweaty under the arms. The product smells fresh and long lasting and crucially, doesn't clash with my perfume fragrance.I often find that when using a really strong 24 hour/48 hour deodorant/anti-perspirant that my underarms become very dry. So far, this does not seem to be a problem with Dove Maximum Protection.I have still to test run its effectiveness following a gym workout, however I am hopeful!

I am an avid Mitchum deodorant user and have not wavered from it for years due to how well it works. The downside to Mitchum is I feel it has a big of a stigma as a 'sweaty person's deodorant' so I am sometimes a little embarrassed when I pull it out in a changing room. I am a Bzz Agent and was delighted to be asked to test Dove Maximum Protection Anti-perspiration Cream and write up a review. This anti-perspirant is different in that it suggests you put it on just before bed ..... I tried this out for a few days but I could not get used to this and didn't feel right in the morning not putting deodorant on. I decided then to put it on in the morning, giving it a couple of minutes to dry.Dove Maximum Protection smells divine, the bottle is a click system which releases cream (it suggests two turns of the dial) so easy to use and the packaging looks nice and subtle - no big green mitchum in my toiletry bag any longer lol.I tried out the claim that it lasts 48 hours and went a day without using it ... by the end of the second day I was still dry so the product does what it says on the packaging. Even though I put it on everyday, it's good to know that if I miss a day, I'll still be sweat free. I gave it 4 stars because I think it is quite an expensive product (around £5) and I couldn't get used to using it before bed (which is when it's most effective) but overall, great product :-)

I've found that the older (plus larger and less fit) I've become, I've needed a decent deodorant/anti-perspirant to keep my underarms dry and smelling pleasant. I normally apply twice a day as I work in a small poky office with no air-con so was anxious to try a revolutionary new anti-perspirant.The USP of this product is that you apply it at night to ensure maximum protection throughout the following day. Dove also advertises the following:* Provides scientifically proven protection against wetness* Delivers all-day freshness through odour-fighting technology* Cares for your skin with Dove ¼ moisturising cream* Features a signature fragrance to leave you feeling clean, fresh and beautifulThe twist and click application method is a great idea, the product itself has a really creamy feel to it when you apply it and the smell is a pleasant flowery fragrance.I have a couple of different scenarios and results. A hot sunny afternoon attending a barbecue proved to be sweat free. A day in the office sitting at my desk also proved a winner. Today, after shifting a cabinet I had to re-apply, although I did feel quite fresh again after doing so. So as long as I don't overly exert myself this product is great, but I'd be wary recommending it to gym addicts.

As a new Bzz agent, I was sent this product to try out. I have been using Dove products a few times, shower gel and soap mostly and deo (spray,) and have always like their scent, so was very happy to try this new anti-perspirant out.It was tricky to get the first go, as it took a few clicks for the cream to come out, but hey, if it works, it's no big deal. (at least it's a clean way to apply deo, as the bathroom isn't filled up with leftover spray that make my kids choke for air).I find it hard to remember to apply it in the evenings, so decided to try it out in the morning, after shower. Anyway, it's been a few days so far, and I have applied it on everyday and it seems to do a great job!Very pleased with smell that stays on all day (nothing pretentious, just a 'clean' fresh scent). I am always on the run between work, kids at school, walking dog etc... so wouldn't have time to re-apply any deo during the day, and certainly wwelcome a deo that helps you stay fresh all day without the worry of B.O or (gasp) sweat patches.I would definitely recommend this product (in fact got money-off vouchers as a Bzz Agent (to use in Tesco) to give away to friends!), a bit pricey but if it works, and helps saves the planet with no gas emission, then I'm converted...

It's a well-known belief that Britain produces next-to-nothing these days. However, the manufacturer would take issue with this as it has some pretty impressive global brands, of which Dove is one. It's quite easy to stop an armpit sweating - simply damage the sweat glands - and there are products that will do this in a variety of ways. Aluminium chloride is one, but it can be very aggressive; Botox for those who have the money and for those with lots of time and perhaps sweaty feet, electrophoretic stimulation. The trick, as Dove would argue, is to stop the sweat but in a gentle way, that does not damage the skin and whilst I am sure that few would argue that armpits are not the sexiest areas of our bodies,Dove is poised to up-rate the way women, in particular, view this area. The three women in the 'Duncurin" household tested this product including our youngest, who has just returned from 3 weeks camping on Kilimanjaro and charity work in Tanzania. Our view is that the product is effective, gentle, cosmetically acceptable and long-lasting with a subtle, pleasing odour. So well done Dove, a thumbs up for what ( even though it's manufactured in Canada ) might just be an excellent global, great British product. Many thanks.

This deodorant is fantastic, and does exactly what it claims to do.Other reviewers have noted their annoyance at the loud clicking that occurs as you turn the dial to administer the cream. However, once the cream is in use, it is useful to turn just two clicks and then apply (as instructed). The deodorant applies in a creamy texture, and glides onto the skin smoothly. Unlike many `strong' deodorants on the market, it does not result in frustrating itching, or stinging after shaving. The aroma is similar to a linen fresh smell, lasting all day long as it claims (even after exercising). Underarm `wetness' is also eliminated, as well as those pesky white marks!Compare that to other deodorants...*Roll-ons - take an age to dry and are often sticky. The balls jam a lot, and I don't find them as effective as I would feel comfortable with.*Spray deodorants - first of all they gas you every day! If you are lucky enough to find the sprays that don't require you emptying half the can in order to achieve dryness...then they leave terrible white marks! All in all I love this product. It may be a little on the pricey side, but I believe that it is worth the money for the quantity, and more importantly the effectiveness.

I get bad migraines and find that strong smelling perfumes and deodorants can be a trigger, so finding something that smells good without making my head pound can be difficult, but I was relieved to find that Dove's cream is quite subtly fragranced and smells a little like sweet pea. Not too heady. It took a little patience to get the cream to actually emerge from the small pores on the applicator head - a good couple of minutes twisting the rather reluctant base is needed. Be careful you don't overdo it, the product oozes out very quickly once it's started. Dove advise just a couple of clicks per application, and I found this just about enough. The cream itself is very silky and glides on easily. It does seem to take a while to dry, though, but it passed the black top test with top marks (or lack of them).I have to be fair, I tried this product during a bit of a heatwave, so maybe not typical conditions, but I found I got slightly sticky by the evening, so 48 hours' protection is a rather ambitious claim, but it did keep me feeling fresh for most of the day and it left my underarms noticeably softer and smoother. No irritation and I have pesky, sensitive skin. All in all, a good performer.

I first started using Dove deodorant products ten years ago when I became infuriated by the amount of male products that had no smell and masking ability, despite the claims on the packaging. Dove is strong but very pleasant. This particular product does have a slightly fiddly turning wheel that took me a while to get working (I assumed it was broken at first) but one I had managed to get the content through the plastic holes I realized that both application and content was excellent. With sprays it's easy to over use them, but this device allows only enough to pass the plastic 'mesh' cover. One of the ingredients, Aluminum Zirconium intrigued me so I investigated and found out the following:"aluminium and zirconium ions are absorbed into the skin cells, creating an osmotic pressure that draws water into the cell. The cell then swells with the influx of water, causing it to pinch the sweat glands closed, preventing the release of sweat. This swelling ability is common among aluminium-based antiperspirants"In general the scent is not overwhelming in my opinion, but very pleasant and better than risking body odour. I would definately use this again.

I recently got to try out this product as I am a Bzz Agent. I must say I am normally a spray kind of girl and was not convinced I would really like this product at all. But I must say I highly recommend this product to anybody. I would highly recommend that you fully read the instructions that come with it, as you may not like the product. It advises you to use it overnight but I tend to use it daily as I normally would and have not problems at all.I apply it before getting dress after having a shower and I can honestly say I can feel/smell it all day long right up until I go to bed. I had the original fragrance and its smells fresh and clean - Just showered type of smell. It also leaves my underarms feeling very soft and the skin feels nourished.Plus the other bonus of not using a normal spray deodorant is that you don't get that haze in your face and a chemical smell.Give it a try cause I think it's a great product which does what it says on the tin.. I have used this product even through a full Zumba class, and I can honestly say it still kept me fresh and clean smelling, I was sweating all over but my underarms stayed dried. Love it !
