When your job involves completing shift logs and checksheets in the control room of a nuclear power station, as mine does, you need and appreciate a pen which is nice to hold and writes smoothly with a dense black ink that can is suitable for records which will be retained for 30 years. These are without question the best I have used and I spend my own money buying boxes of them because they are better than the ones supplied by work (which are fit-for-purpose I hasten to add). Not all disposable roller ball pens are created equal.

I was told years ago that a gel pen is less stressful than a ball point as you don't actually have to push down. I don't know if this is true but i do know that a pen that doesn't work well is as annoying as putting one of these pens in your shirt pocket forgetting that the lid is on the blunt end. I've done this once so these pens cost a little more and will ruin one of your shirts if you don't learn from my mistake. But that is a price worth paying as these pens are consistently great. Buy a box and stick it on expenses.

I love these pens, and they are pretty much the only ones I use nowadays. I prefer the 0.5 to 0.7 as it tends to be a bit more scratchy on the page, but many people go for the thicker 0.7, which is also good. I also prefer these ones to the needle tip version, which tends to bend and snap over time. The price is significantly cheaper in bulk on Amazon, and I have seen individual pens as high as £4 in shops, and they tend to be between £1-£1.50 per pen in bulk through Amazon. Highly recommended.

My favourite pen. Nice. Does get smudged if you rub it just after writing with it. But writing comes so easy with this pen. It doesn't leak out as much ink either. Just about the perfect amount. I use it for everything. Even inking my drawings (though that's where the smudging becomes an issue. Don't recommend for inking.)

Reliable, black long lasting roller ball. Ink dries quickly which is important for me as I’m left handed. Much better than cheaper disposables and I prefer the writing to more expensive pens with replaceable cartridges. Would highly recommend. Only problem is people hang onto them if you lend them s they like them too.

A superb pen for general writing and use.Creates sharp thin black ink line that quickly drys. 0.5mm tip.A little expensive and runs out of ink with prolonged use (1-3 months regular use)I still think it is worth it.Not suitable for plastics based writing.

I'm not saying these pens will improve your handwriting, but they will make it look more elegant, and are a pleasure to use as the ink flows so well and they feel so smooth. I've also bought the 0.7, but prefer these as the ink dries immediately on the page.

I can't write with a normal biro and am really fussy about ink pens...but the ink runs nice and smoothly, dries fairly quickly, and a good price. The worst thing about it is now I don't have an excuse for not writing my Christmas present thank you letters.

These are the only pens I will choose to write with. I used them for all my GCSE and AS Level exams. Also for all my notes, and they make my writing look super neat! I'll never use another pen again with this one to hand!

I absolutely love these pens. They write smoothly, with a fairly narrow line & make my handwriting look better than it does using anything else ever.Comfortable to hold & long-lasting, what more could you want?

This pack will last you for ages, and writes so smoothly, with just the right thickness of tip for most handwritings. I now routinely use this pen over my much more expensive parker 5th.
