For those who know some of the range of Pilot pens, my usual favourite is the V5 - gives a seriously fine line and has a distinctive 'prong' nib. That's what I tend to use...But with children needing school pens and me wanting to make sure that they write with something decent, the V5 has that basic problem of being totally knackered by ever being dropped on its nib. Bent prong = dead pen.This is the solution. The VBall or VB5 seems as solid as any conventional pen but writes much more like the V5. Actually, it's probably a bit smoother-flowing than the V5 and feels slimmer in the hand. It's ideal as a high quality school pen.I bought a box of 12 because they worked out at about £1.25 each.

I have been a fan of v5 pilot pens for many years. They make writing a pleasure and your writing a pleasure to look at. I love the v ball version just as much - perhaps a little more: the cap is more individual; the ink flows beautifully and they feel good too. I use them for everything, from shopping lists to marking school books; I like to use a variety of colours rather than just red. The black pens are also great. I say they are addictive because I have to have at least one in every room and I get jittery when stocks run low or they are moved from their designated rooms!

I've been using these for nearly twenty years, and don't use any other if I can help it (which depends entirely on paper quality, something beyond Pilot's control). Slim, smooth, fine-pointed, comfortable in the hand — actually a joy to use, and every time.Downside: not available in as many colours as I'd like (orange would be nice), but six shades isn't bad…

My dad used to occasionally bring these home from work and always loved them for righting but I never new exactly which type/model they were. Really happy to have finally found out what type and somewhere to buy them from. Great value for money considering the quality.

Arrived very quickly! Love these pens because the tip is so fine, therefore they are especially good for filling out forms that have limited space in which to write.

Arrived on time, great for taking notes, pen tip fine enough to write between lines for correction or editing. Would recommend.
