Good solid bit of kit. We have used a small version of this for 16 years and it is only now showing signs of wear. Load the base with peppercorns and the top with ground salt, or load the bottom with coarse sea salt and the top with ground pepper - whatever.The secret of getting the best out of these items is to strip and clean them at least once a year to stop them looking shabby.We were in a restaurant yesterday using the cheaper Wamber items, flashy looking but not easy to use and other diners even asked the waiter to make them work..........

I bought the salt and pepper mill as a house warming gift for my son. I am very pleased with the product, it is stylish yet practical.
