I find that these are the best ball-point pens on the market. Where many other pens are slow starters and need a few moments to "warm-up", these write straight away - even when they haven't been used for a while. The writing is in solid, black ink - no faint or uneven lines.I am an author and I sometimes have to correct proofs where the type is small and the lines fairly closely-spaced: this requires a fine pen. This particular box was of pens with a 1.0 mm diameter tip, which is suitable for general writing and produces quite a thin line. In the same range there is, I believe, an even finer point available, which would be even better for very fine work.

The pens arrived exactly when they were promised and are in their own box exactly as in the photo.They are super comfortable to hold and write very smoothly. Also, are just the right thickness for me to write in tiny boxes on various forms at work!I also love how as soon as you've written it will not smudge if you lean on the page as some other pens do (i hate that!)My only problem is that i now have to hide the box from other people at work or they will all disappear!!

I'd say i'm pretty pleased with this product. I actually thought it was the retractable versions, but either way, i don't care about that part too much. These are really great because of the thinness of the tips, makes my writing really much neater.However it could be just slightly more glidey - i guess with a thinner tips its more difficult, but they just have a tiny bit too much friction for my liking. They run out pretty fast too, but you get a lot per pack

They are also a dream to write with, even when writing long essays (I'm studying English, geography, history and classical civilisation: ALL essay subjects at A Level) the pen remains light and I find it glides over the paper. No pen is going to feel joyous after a 3 hour exam, but these pens get pretty close to that.

I had intended to use the 'refill' of these pens to replace those in the 'retractable' versions of the Papermate Flexgrip which I already own. However, there is a small but significant difference in the design. The refills for the retractable version have been 'nipped' about 1 inch from the tip - a necessary variation to ensure that the retractable pen works as intended.No major problem - I'll use these pens just as they are!

I love any pen that improves my writing and for some mysterious reason this pen does and hence why I have stocked up with 12! Definately my pen of choice. Very comfortable to hold - I don't personally like the thicker barrel pens and the ink is smooth and no smudging. I confess I was aiming for the retractable type with push top however these are the same pen with a pen lid you take on and off as required. Brilliant.

These pens are reasonably comfortable to use and although they aren't the neatest pens to right with they are far better than biro's and any other products in this price range. I've heard people mention that these pens are ideal for exams but although they are fairly comfortabl to use, you know you've used a cheap pen after a 2hour exam of using them!

Comfortable to use. Writing quality if good and consistant. Buying them by the box is the cheapest way of doing it and you don't mind leaving them around the house wherever you may need a pen

As a private user of some 3 pens per month - plus family requirements - makes the dozen package such excellent value. I have muscular dystrophy and need a pen I can hold securely.

Arrived safely and on time and they are comfortable and easy to write with.No reason to change to another kind, they do what they are supposed to do very well,

We have tried other pens but not in the same class as this Paper Mate pen. Always ready to write and always sold black. Spelling leaves a bit to be desired :-)

Not that a pen is any more or less for either right or left hands........but the fine point on these nibs I find really helps me not to smudge my own writing.

I love these pens as they are so comfortable and fine to write with. I was having a job to find them. Good old internet. they are very long lasting.

This item was purchased for use in the home, once my partner had tried one, the whole pack disappeared for her sole use, so a worth while purchase

Bought these as love the PaperMate medium point pens, but don't like the fact these have got a separate lid, rather than built-in pop-up style.
