Looking at the system build, it looks very 'smart' modern and stylish...and above all it is very lightweight and compact and will fit in most spaces where room is limited. This system has FM/ DAB+, a CD player, Blutooth and USB which all work extremely well. The audio has a few presets of which is enough to satisfy most needs with a 'Bass-Boost' feature for more punchy bass.Setting up and retuning the radio and adding your favourite presets is easy and all done by the multi-functional remote control. On setting the system up for the first time, It is immediately let down in the radio department by the very small wire aerial that Panasonic supply of which is designed to be pinned to thewall...unfortunately this has resulted in very poor radio reception on both DAB and especially FM....However... having purchased a separate 'rabbit ears' telescopic aerial both DAB and FM reception improved significantly and using an outdoor 3 element DAB aerial which is also designed for BOTH FM & DAB - The radio reception is like no other system I have ever used as it is now receiving DAB and FM stations way outside my area. I live in the Midlands area and I am receiving DAB stations clearly from the North West and other areas. Also FM is now superb using an outdoor aerial and is even able to separate very nearby stations that are broadcasting very close to each other with excellent hiss free reception in most cases. ***The problem is not with the actual radio itself but the aerial supplied*** (I thought I would point this out as I have read quite a few negatives about the radio on this unit on other internet review sites)Just to conclude this:The Panasonic is a fantastic little system and has everything you need and is FAR better than other systems I have tried at three times the price, and prior to purchasing this unit, make sure you invest in a separate aerial for improved radio reception and also you will need an adaptor for this (available on Ebay very cheap) but it will be well worth it.Read full review...

I have been a fan of Panasonic products since my parents bought their first VCR back in the early 1980's and have had several different Panansonic TV's, stereo's DVD players since then. This is the latest addition to a long line. The sound quality is perfectly acceptable for a product in the sub £100 mark. I have this stereo in my conservatory and it is absolutely fine for this environment. I have read comments that the aerial is inadequate, however I have no issues with reception with what was provided. Set up is relatively straight forward, simply a case of unboxing and plugging in. The speaker cable could be a bit longer - I needed to extend one of the cables to be able to reach a shelf around 10 ft away from the main unit.As for the functions the stereo has DAB+,FM, CD and Bluetooth. All work relatively easily and as you would expect although the remote control is small and this make station programming a little tricky. Therefore although you can use memory functions it is easier simply to skip through channels until you find the desired one. Bluetooth is receive only which is great for playing things off an iphone or ipad but a transmission funtion would be a nice addition to enable headphone receptionOne big drawback is the screen size and quality. The screen has 2 brightness settings but in my bright conservatory it is almost impossible to see what it's displaying. In addition the size is small and the lettering is large whcih means when you are skipping through channels you cannot really see what you're skipping by - especially on BBC Channels when you are presented with BBC Radio ... with the actual channel name being hidden.Overall though this is a good system for the price and its failings do not detract from the functions that the product has, they would simply be better additions.

First of all: I have received the SA-PM250B. It doesn't match the advertised one, but I do not think it matters a lot, as the models are supposed to be comparable. My worst fears happened when I took the unit out of its packaging: light, very small-sized, and including tiny speakers. I wanted to replace a big, bloated Hi-Fi which didn't have Bluetooth and whose CD unit had become extremely noisy (mechanical noise really). However, from the moment you turn it on, you realise this system can offer way more than it looks. The CD is quite silent, fast responding and produces a clean sound. The amplifier is more than enough for these (loud, wooden) full range 1-way speakers with a front bass reflex port, and can be customised in a number of ways. It incorporates a sound processing option to create a sort of sound stage - very impressive. You can tweak the bass & treble to suit your tastes - it's quite flat by default - and the result is wonderful, with plenty of bass and very, very detailed highs. I played a live record by Cannonball Adderley, who liked to introduce most of the tracks, and the vocal rendition was flawless. I paid ~£64, but it sounds like £150, in line with it's Pioneer counterparts. The Bluetooth 4.0 function is where it really shines. Fast pairing, very good sound, nice range too.Good DAB reception (included antenna).Only drawback: does not include an AA battery for the remote, and does not have a headphone connection. That's it. The rest is clearly fabulous.UPDATE: I'm moving to a bigger house and I might end up buying another one. Yes, it is THAT GOOD! Very happy.

Wow for a small cheap feature rich micro system it sounds really nice. I’ve had a few Panasonic systems over the past 2 decades. They’ve never fail to impress. Panasonic is part of matsusta which includes Technics & Marantz hifi company’s. If you know anything about good hifi you know Technics & Marantz regularly get 5 Star ratings from “What Hifi" for their products. Panasonic is like the starter rung of their hifi ladder. So you should benefit from their tech know-how. I know this because years ago I was a salesman in a independent electronics company that sold all brands including Bang & Olufsen hifi and TVs. So over the years I’ve heard high & low quality hifi and sound systems. For the money this Panasonic is good. And as far as system features go you’ll want for nothing. DAB+. Bluetooth and USB. The audio connection options are complete. Where money has been saved are the speakers. Their just bigger than your hand. But made of wood, so sound better than their size would suggest. The other cost saving in on the amp. It’s good but only outputs 20 Watts, it’s more than loud enough for a kitchen, small study or a quite living room. If you want a room shaking sound system look elsewhere, also be prepared to have your wallet dented by several hundred pounds +. Depending on make and model. For someone who’s had hifi costing quite a bit more than several hundred pounds. I’m very happy with my “cheap hifi”. (And no I don’t work for Panasonic or matsusta). So all in all keep your expectations realistic and you should be quite happy if you decide to buy this little gem.

I bought this from Currys at price above, not the price advertised on Currys site. Reason for this review is that, as a classical music lover, I was amazed by how good this small unit is, even though the speakers are small. I use it in my painting studio (shed) and there is far more power output than I need. Only problem is the aerial. I have found an (untidy) position where I can receive everything except classic fm, which breaks up or just reads no input. The aerial connection on the unit is a screw thread not ordinary coaxial connection. I believe this type is known as an F type connector and I have ordered an extending metal aerial with this connector on it for a few pounds,so will see if this is better (as well as neater). There is a DIY aerial description online if you need it and have an type F connector - just uses a few metres of coaxial cable with some weird adjustments to it. Easy to find if you need it. I should mention that I get no fm signal at all on it, but don't need this as only ever listen to radio 3, 4 or 4+ which are all available DAB. Also, to change to another preset station you are supposed to press several buttons, but I found you just press Fast Forward button on remote or unit to go straight to next or previous preset. I tuned in what stations I needed manually, because until you know the best aerial position it may not do auto scan. If these are not issues for you I have to say this is a great little unit which I am really enjoying and at this price it is a steal.

After spending some time searching and reading reviews I bought one of these. It came in a resealed box and is as good as new.I was looking to get a DAB radio, but also needed an alarm and found that info missing on some of the Hi-Fi systems.I am pleased to say that this does have an alarm which you can set once and will come on every morning to your chosen radio station. The alarm works from the stand by setting, so the clock display does not show, but that is fine for my needs.I prefer the front loading CD to the top loading one which I use to have. For my needs the sound quality is great and the different sound options including surround are added bonuses.Having BT and wireless gives those options which I am sure I will explore at sometime in the future.I like the LED dimmer feature, the auto tune and the aerial which has a proper connector and nice quality wire. Not sure that I could use this very well without the remote, as this makes it easy to flip through different options and set up the alarm, so hopefully that will last.Very pleased with my purchase and the communication even though it did take a day or so for the response.Delivery was by DPD which is an excellent service.I was sent an email notifying me of the day it would be delivered. Then on that morning I was sent another email giving me an hour time slot. I was able to change this instantly and get it delivered to my neighbour.Thank you from a happy customer.Steve A.Read full review...

After having read reviews of this item, and other more expensive alternatives, I decided to buy. And am not dissapointed.Pairing with my samsung s3 was very easy. The DAB radio was easy to set up (some alternatives that I considered did not come with aerial, this one does but needs to be taped to the wall).I live in a good DAB reception area and have a very good signal. Best check your coverage online. The unit allows you control over bluetooth, volume level, various eq settings, an input for flash drive (MP3 only) play either by track or albumn folder, + timer for sleep/alarrm clock. Along with cd and fm radio. The speakers are small but if you don't want to 'bang' it out and annoy your neighbours are perfectly adequate.Nearly all the fuchtions can be accesed from the remote control.Intuitive design general although to get the best read the manual for all feautures. As for the negative review maybe they had a bad experience, general good build quality for the price, may be aux input for an ipod/turntable would be nice, but overall very good value for money.Fast delivery and no problems with tracking through amazon.

I was given this for my birthday and use it in the kitchen. The set up was very easy, the reception on DAB and FM are good. The Bluetooth connection was easy and reconnects easily.I have used it with a 64GB USB stick with 330 albums on and it works fine, it looks as though it could go to 999 albums and 999 tracks. In this mode and CD you can set it to repeat the track, the album, random in the album and random over all the music on the source. In USB mode you can resume from where you left off, the CD starts at the beginning. With so many albums and tracks navigation is a bit tricky as the track details do not stay on all the time but pressing 'display' scrolls through the info.It does not work with my classic ipod on USB and there is no AUX in and no headphone out. The sound is very good for a small speaker.Radio reception is good and you can set up favourite stations then set the remote to just scroll through these, its very easy.I am very pleased with it especially considering the price. Thoroughly recommend it.

I am very happy with this purchase. I bought it to replace my old HiFi system which defeated all attempts to fix the CD player, and which did not have DAB radio. This Panasonic system seems to be entirely made from plastic, but has quite a good feel. The performance and sound work well. The clock/alarm system wakes me up to the radio and it is great to have all the additional stations available on DAB+. I used the supplied DAB/FM antenna and all seems to be working fine. The supplied reflex speakers work well enough, and I am using them. There are controls for meddling with Bass and Treble, and some other audio processing functions. If you happen to have some better 6-ohm speakers lying around the sound improvement is amazing. My old 2-way JVC speakers sound stunning,

Really good micro hi fi. Lovely tone with selectable presets. Very clear and crisp. Good looking and compact. Bluetooth works well and without latency. CDs play perfectly.Radio not perfect because FM reception is poor since there is no provision for an external FM aerial. DAB reception is okay but limited stations available and you have to scroll through all of them as there is no favourites list. Therefore I use the radio app on phone instead. Update: I added an external DAB aerial and that improved reception a great deal.Overall an excellent hi fi for the price with enough volume for a normal room.Lacks a headphone socket but if you’re using Bluetooth from a phone you can just use the phone to listen with headphones anyway.

Very pleased with this, easy to set up and very good speaker quality, especially for the price. A bit fiddly positioning the DAB aerial but got a good signal and gets all the available DAB Plus stations for my area. Can't speak for the quality if placed in an enormous room but worth buying. Plenty of feature with bluetooth, Dab and USB, useful if you prefer to be as future proof as possible rather than replacing devices every five minutes. The ability to hear the music with good bass and volume without a huge speaker set up that would annoy the neighbours is a major plus point! Best advice to get the best out of this unit - read the instruction book before setting up, not after.

Cracking little micro system. The DAB quality is spot-on - though I'm disappointed it's not found the radio station that hosts Test cricket! Could be worth a re-tune though - first it found 45 channels, then 99 the next night. But with so many channels to choose from, it's a bit tricky using the remote control. You need to laboriously scroll through all the stations until you get to the one you want to listen to. Try clicking the same button 50-odd times - boring! Sure, you can save 20 stations - but you can't type in a number to go straight to one.Definitely recommend this stereo - but be prepared for quite a clunky experience to listen to DAB stations.

Bought this as a Christmas gift for my daughter who loves music. This has been a dream purchase. It has everything we need, and the sound quality is just unbelievable for something of this size.Great for Bluetooth, very easy to connect and set up. We haven’t used the DAB Radio so cannot really comment on the quality of the aerial. The setup also has a surround mode, a virtual surround sound. It is fantastic! Fills the room, which from two speakers so small is fantastic.Easy to setup, easy to use, stunning sound quality and a wonderful compact size, it’s perfect for a kitchen or bedroom.Easily 5 stars. Another Grear Panasonic item!

Cant fault the sound this small unit produces tbh, loud with good bass. Also the obvious, DAB, Bluetooth, USB connection all great features. However its the tuning where this lets itself down. There is no simple function to scroll through the channels. You have to wait for the channel to scroll through to be able to read it, then try the next channel. I've used cheaper Pure DAB units that are far easier to use and you can scroll instantly though the channels available. And setting preset channels take a bit of getting used to too. Its not exactly intuitive. However that said I think overall it is a good unit and glad I purchased it.

DAB works for stations that are a bit on the edge of range for us on other setsCD is fine and CD-R's with MP3s burnt on to them work for me.Same for USB memory sticks with MP3'sDaughter uses the remote rather than the main unit when they are next to each other. I am the other way round. So I assume the remote is ok.No real complaints.I have no idea about the Bluetooth connectivity. Amazon needs to add a "not tried" option in these reviews.Speaker cables could be longer (maybe only 1.5m?) but easy enough to add some more.Speakers could be a bit more "heavy", but they sound Ok for the money.
