I was given this unit by Panasonic to review as part of their product review program. Firstly the unit is in three parts, main unit and two speakers. The product is well packed and easily set up. I noted that the operation manual is on one sheet of paper, personally, I prefer a book format, saves confusion. The first function I tried out was the radio tuners, FM was clear and crisp with SW a little less clear. I note that there is no DAB tuner, this may be considered on future models although, FM band is really good. There are many adjustments that can be made on the sound colour, deep bass along with normal bass, mid and treble settings. There are two external Aerials, FM and SW,which connect to the rear of the main unit. There are RCA audio input connections on the rear of the main unit for DVD players etc. The CD function is easy to operate and, like all functions, adjustments to sound and tracks made from the remote control or on the main unit. We tried the Karaoke functions using a Karaoke CD and a high quality microphone. Because the mic has XLR connections, we used an XLR x 1/4" jack lead. There are Karaoke effects and Key change, + or - 6, functions, which we tried quite successfully and were quite impressed with the results and would be happy to use this function at parties etc. I installed the Panasonic MAX Juke app on my android phone and connected it via bluetooth to the SC-AKX520. Set up was easy and in no time was playing music from my phone directly through the system, with great audio results. By connecting a bluetooth device, you can stream your music to the SC-AKX520. I played WAV files from my Android phone with no problems. The unit has the ability to be able to connect to three bluetooth devices at a time. The DJ function was really interesting, a track queueing system with various effects such as phaser, pitch shifter and more, and of course, full EQ adjusting. The main unit lighting and adjustment may be of value to a younger person.

SC-AKX520 I was given this product by Panasonic to review as part of the Panasonic Reviewer Programme. Firstly, the bass emanating from these speakers is unbelievable, and with 650Watts of power you can imagine the diversity of sound that the speakers are able to produce. Different genres of music introduce a new experience with the bass in these speakers, and definitely highlights the true capability of such a high-power piece of equipment. The design of the speaker system blends in with many living room environments very well, and its elegant aesthetic can be paired easily with a television and other surrounding technology systems. It is very simple to connect smartphones and other devices to the system, and its wide-ranging functionality creates a smooth experience, allowing you to change music and adjust sound output easily. The CD function is also very easy to use, and the device also has dual USB access, supported by MP3, which provides multiple access points and connectivity. The DJ and Karaoke effects have created a lot of fun in my family setting, and the device pairs easily with microphone devices to amplify sound with a variety of different functions and two Mic Jacks. The Max Juke app made it really easy to use different functions of the speaker system and enjoy its different capabilities. Unfortunately, the antenna, which is used for the indoors, isn't clear enough, and my advice would be to connect it to your main aerial antenna if you want to get clear radio signal. I would also advise to use a good microphone as lower quality microphones did not seem to be able to work as it should, and the sound seemed distorted. Overall, this stereo system definitely provides good value for money and is perfect for use at home, or at party functions. What is most impressive is how powerful and clear the sound really is. Many songs that I had previously listened to on other devices, seemed completely different, as the bass created a whole new experience.

I was given the product by Panasonic to review as part of the Panasonic also programme. It is definitely loud. At full volume (50) it was unbearable, and upstairs it was still loud enough for a party but sounded remarkably clear. At 20 it can be listened to throughout the house. A normal listening level is about 12. The bass seemed too high at first but after turning it lower for a while I realised it sounded better with the bass, and the drum effects were also impressive. The front of the speakers is well designed and forms horns to increase the sound. It also incorporates subtle handles for carrying. Because of the variety of sound effects the main unit has too many buttons for ease of use,but is ok for basic functions. It is much easier to control with the Juke app, which also loaded an index of music from the USB on the main unit for me to select from. The display on the unit is difficult to read unless at eye level, and uses a poor font (in the photograph, does it display C1 or CD?). Karaoke was a challenge as there is no video link to display the lyrics. However, the app links to YouTube and could display lyrics on my phone while playing the music on the speakers. There was a variety of features available for Karaoke and it was interesting to experiment with changing the key or tempo of the music. The most surprising thing is that I never had feedback howl although I was next to the speakers. The radio signal was too weak to try it with the loop aerial supplied. It seems too early for some features: the help website for the app is very basic and the iphone app does not cater for this speaker, although the iphone can play music or radio programs through bluetooth. Overall, looking at prices on the internet, it is very good value for money. I am still discovering new features such as the option to turn the speakers on when the Juke app is started on my phone. I'm looking forwards to trying them in a small hall with some musicians that I know.

Given this system to review by Panasonic, and what a beauty it is. Set up was easy with the supplied accessories and it was up and running in minutes. Boy does this pack a punch, the system has enough power to drive the neighbours to distraction let alone drive the speakers. Volume max's out at setting 50 and at 20 the whole house is full of sound. I found the sound a little bass heavy for my liking but this was easily sorted when the sound effect settings were tweaked to limit the bass. Bass & treble along with surround sound and d.bass can be selected and adjusted manually or there are a variety of in-built preset equaliser settings with selections for most music tastes.AM/FM radio's are both onboard and both worked really well with the two supplied antenna's and saving your favourite stations to the system is easy. Playback of CD's with the inbuilt cd player and bluetooth music delivered from my smartphone were both straight forward and delivered a nice clear sound. MP3's played via the inbuilt USB sockets sounded great but were a little difficult to navigate via the limited LCD display The illumination effects to the front panel are little quirky but add to the appeal of the system. The system also provides DJ functions to add effects to your songs if that's your cup of tea, but I prefered to hear my music as it comes. You can also use the system for karaoke with selectable effects as you sing along, unfortunately microphones are not supplied so I was unable to try out this feature. With the continuing revival of both vinyl and audio cassette, I hooked up a turntable then a cassette player to the aux input on the rear of the unit which added further flexibility to my music options, both types of audio were well reproduced. Downloading the Panasonic Max juke app to my phone was simple via the google play store and allows you to operate most of the features of the system via your smart phone or to duplicate the supplied remote control.

The product was well packaged and took no time to set up. I was surprised how light the main unit was, which was of concern at first wondering if there was anything in it! The speakers were attached using a simple prefixed terminals, then the power lead and it was ready to use. Would prefer a booklet rather than a sheet of instructions. The first test was a CD. The tray comes out of the front of the main body and appeared robust. Pressing 'Select' eventually finds CD, The initial sound was very heavy with bass and needed adjusting for my taste, but once this was done the sounds were really satisfying, especially at low volume. I tried various different genre of CD including solo piano and I was very impressed with the results. The sound was rich as if the piano was in the room. I connected my iPod touch and iPhone via bluetooth which was easy compared to other devices I've experienced. Once done the ease of listening via this platform was really nice, again with a test of different genre the results were the same as CD. I connected the aerial to use the FM radio. I was disappointed that the unit didn't have DAB. Once I had found a suitable place for the aerial to get a signal, and found the FM setting again I was pleased with the sound, however as the volume was increased I heard the telltale hiss in the background. To be fair I do not get the best FM reception being in a rural setting and without a bespoke FM aerial I have to rely on what is provided. I do have another Panasonic device with DAB which works perfectly well. I was not able to test the karaoke or USB but it would be a popular function for youngsters as would the illuminating display which I found distracting so disabled it. The overall look of the system is ultra modern and stylish, aimed, i'm sure at the younger market. The speakers are large in relation to the unit I was given this unit by Panasonic to review as part of their product review programme.

This review is part of a product testing group in association with Panasonic and Reevoo. I have to say, I wouldn't have looked at a product like this at all. Personally, it doesn't serve a purpose to me and my lifestyle but I have it so let's go... Aesthetically, it rocks a retro vibe with the two chunky speakers, and the multi coloured LED lights on the main system. It wouldn't look out of place in a 80's/90's disco but yet has the techs and specs for modern day living. It was simple and easy to set up. Pop in the two speakers to the main system, the plug then into the electrical socket and you are done. The instructions are detailed but necessary if you are a bit cautious.Unlike me who presses buttons to find out what's what and hopes for the best! Coming with such things as, USB ports, CD player, mic jacks for carefree karaoke, remote control and Bluetooth to enable a real-time link-up to your TV - which is how I've been using it. Also, available for download is a purposely designed Android app (MAX Juke). Possibly disappointing for those who aren't Android users when it's rolled out. The sound is clear yet dynamic, but if the banging bass is too much, it does have settings to adjust and customise the sound to your own ears and environment it is being used it. Whilst this system isn't something I would have bought myself, I recognise the quality and usability. It is for a younger generation who like their music and parties and fun nights - or out. However, due to the lightweight design, this could be easily transported and set up at a childrens party, in a club, for budding DJs, or simply used at home to listen to music or hooked up to a TV for live sporting events, allowing you to be immersed deep in the quality of sound.

The first thing that struck me about this unit as I unpacked it was how light the main amplifier seemed. So much so that I had to get a set of scales out to put a figure to it. The kitchen scales recorded a value of 2.656 kilograms. In the setup menu there is provision for adjusting base, mid and treble between ± 4. Out of the box the unit is set up for +4 on all these options. Playing back a CD as the music source I was struck by the heavy bass response but having made adjustments it sounded much more reasonable. The unit is rated at 650 Watts RMS and having turned it up once very briefly I'm inclined to believe that figure. For normal purposes a volume setting of 20 is more than adequate. At full volume the number 50 was displayed. Judging from the overall look of the main unit and speakers I would guess that it has been designed to appeal to the young adult demographic and probably in a domestic setting. At this point I should confess that I'm in my early '70s and intend to use the system for playing dance music in a local community hall. This is the setting where I have done most of my testing so far and it has proved more than adequate for the task. It has an inbuilt CD player, two standard microphone jacks and two USB Ports. It also links very easily to an external Bluetooth source device. There is also an FM and AM radio receiver and finally an AUX IN via Standard phono jacks round the back. The feature that is unlikely to get much use is the Karaoke feature. However I can confirm that the mic input works very effectively as a means to announcing the next Dance. I wish to make it clear that I have been given the product by Panasonic to review as part of the Panasonic Reviewer programme.

I was sent this product by Panasonic to review. I must admit when I saw the box and the picture on the front I immediately thought it was not for me. The product was packed very well and was easy to set up. My initial thoughts were confirmed as I am retired and not really into large speakers that look like they have come out of a star wars film. For a teenager or younger person the product would be great. After setting the product up I realised it was rather large and cumbersome and I did not like the flashing lights, but again for the younger generation this would be great. It was good it had a CD player which I used immediately and was impressed by the sound output although it can be rather loud.I must admit I did not try the karaoke but found the radio signal quite weak and didn't like the loop aerial supplied. On taking a step back and looking at the product it is good value for money and a teenager or younger person would have great fun with all the features, not sure if mum and dad would like the loud and booming noise. Also room is needed for the unit and speakers, which in a young persons bedroom may be difficult. It would be great for parties and also it is fairly lightweight so can be transported easily. I am still trying out some of the features, but as I said before it is not really for a retired person but perfect and the price is reasonable for the younger generation.

I was given this product by Panasonic to review as part of the Panasonic Reviewer Programme. Very attractive design with easy to understand and use controls. The radio works well but needs to be connected to an outside aerial for optimum sound. In regards to the bluetooth connectivity, it is fantastic. Connecting my iPhone was instant and the Multi Connect feature is amazing which allows you to connect up 3 devices at the same time. The sound was consistently brilliant when connected to bluetooth. Playing CDs and with my iphone, the preset EQs have interesting, distinct sounds and the sound button on the the remote which allows complete control without having to touch the unit is excellent, adding bass, treble or midrange is effortless and there is bass line and bass beat option in the sound menu also. I also used a mp3 cd which played sweetly all the tunes i had on it.With 650w the speakers handled the power sweetly, all said and done this is a great sounding unit especially if you need loud powerful clear sound,i used it at my bbq and my guests were impressed with the sound and features. I do not have a microphone so did not try karaoke feature. I also tried the usb slots and they worked very well.

My fault should have read and understood the sales pitch. Very disappointed that I cannot record to usb drive. Good value for the power output, however is greard for the much younger people than me. Overall very disappointed
