Simplicity can be refreshing: Painkiller proves this with it's old-skool take on the FPS. Tons of enemies, great weapons and a simple, yet plausible narrative that see's the player tasked with fighting his way through Hell itself.If you like Doom and Serious Sam then Painkiller should be an automatic purchase. It's a charming title that relies on trigger clenching, putting more complex strategy aside in favor of the biggest gun wins. Yep, that's right. Grab that all powerful Chaingun/Rocket launcher combo and it's lights out for the bad-guys. Of course there are other weapons too that will tickle your fancy. The thing is when you pick up a new tool-of-death it is not just one weapon, oh no.

Painkiller is a fun old school FPS, revamped for this generation with HD graphics, that comes from the same school as DooM with fast and addictive gameplay and countless hordes of enemies to mow down, alone or with a friend via co-op mode. Also, there's a multiplayer mode to keep the action going after the endgame. This collector's edition comes packed with the regular uncut version of the game, a Making Of DVD, a soundtrack CD, a small artbook, postcards, stickers, 2 A3 posters and some DLC. My only complaints are the lack of a steelbook and jewel cases for the CD/DVD. Also the artbook is not hard cover. For the price asked it was a good deal!

An awesome HD version of an old masterpiece, perfectly adapted for the PS3 system. It'll give you hours of fun.And the contets of the Collector's Edition are very good too, especially the Soundtrack...Now, to the "BUT..." thing. Unfortunately, ONLINE doesn't work on this game. Seems like it's been abandoned right after the game release...same happened to the versions for the other platforms (PC included). So be aware, DON'T buy this game if you're looking for some "old style" MP experience.If, instead, you just wanna enjoy the old classic SP with an awesome new look, but this! You won't reget it!

The gameplay is really fun and the level design is great, demon killing on the optimized Unreal 3 engine.The movement is soo perfect and fast with the classic B-Hop feature old school games have. There's many weapons and they have cool secondary fire options. The music suits the game very well and the sound effects are great. I can't really fault the game it's really that fun and even more playing story mode with a friend :)

Well, with Painkiller you have to know, that you buy a game from the past ;-)there is not much of Enemy KI - they just Keep coming... and you Keep Shooting them to pieces.turn your Brains off, reload and start Shooting.I really like the collectors Edition. Soundtrack, artbooklet, etc. and the Price isnt really that high for that.Must buy for shooter fans.

Painkiller is an old school shooter that can be played alone or with a friend nothing to complicated no real plot just a fun shoot em up with lots of kick ass guns.
