The jigsaw puzzle of Great Britain and Ireland from Orchard Toys is a colourful and fun way for young children to engage with the geography of these sceptred isles. it comes in 150 fairly large pieces with different colours for each of the nations. The puzzle also comes with a poster but there's not a huge amount of added value in it. The puzzle has insets for each of the capitals.Putting together the puzzle is a nice challenge because it includes some difficult sections such as the seas surrounding the landmass. It is large enough to be put together as a team so a few children can enjoy this activity at once by focussing on the different nations involved.

Purchased as a gift for my son - bigger than expected but thats not a bad thing - easy enough for a 6 year old to complete on his own and helps learning different areas from around the world, I like how they have used colours and big font to help make things clear and gets children to ask questions about where things are from as there are pictures of things in the different countries (animals, buildings etc) and this aids with learning.Its a very nice jigsaw, and I have purchased Orchard Jigsaws before and they always stand the test of time with little hands - great quality and good size pieces. The poster map which comes with it like many other reviwers have said is a bit thin and prone to tear if you keep unfolding and folding,

Fun and challenging puzzle, with tons of things to discuss (animals, buildings and landmarks for example). The bright colours make it attractive for children as well as the cute pictures. The continents are clearly colour coded and i think they hit the right amount of information for the age level given. Because the poster was nice and big, we put it next t the puzzle to help us when we got stuck. My child also likes to pull it out just to look at it on his own. We already have a wallmap, but otherwise, it would be a great thing to post on a bedroom or playroom wall. We bought this puzzle to do with our child and for younger children,

This puzzle was bought as a birthday present for my 6 year old son - what can I say - it's fantastic! The puzzle pieces are fairly large (it's more of a floor puzzle than a table puzzle - unless you have a super large table) which is great for small hands, and in my opinion keeps their attention span for longer than tiny pieces. The detail on the puzzle is colourful, fun and relevant, creating opportunities to talk about our country and neighbouring countries with your child. The poster which is included I found to be very useful and we pop it up on the wall with the help of a little blu-tack when attempting the puzzle as it makes a better reference guide than the picture on the box itself.

I don't usually spend thus much on jigsaws, preferring to pick them up from the charity shop as my granddaughter, a jigsaw fanatic, completes them so quickly. I made an exception for this one as the educational value and challenge is obvious. I thought that, after princesses and cute animals in jigsaws my granddaughter would find this one boring. I couldn't have been more wrong. I helped by sorting the countries into their respective colours and then... She was off! Every now and then I mentioned a place that has some significance to her, without labouring it. After a little break, I am sure she will want to do it again. Just found it rather expensive, but it is good quality.

Brilliant!My almost 3 year old asked Santa for a world map jigsaw so although this was quite a big jigsaw for a little boy I had to get it. He was over the moon with it. The first few times he did it he needed to take some breaks after all it is really big (fills our dining table) and 150 pieces and he needed a little help but he clearly enjoyed it. The images are lovely, heaps of pictures to look at and talk about and easy to put together because of the colours of each section.Nearly 3 years on and this jigsaw is still enjoyed. He has learned a lot about where countries are and the land marks or animals linked with countries and now he can do the entire jigsaw alone quite quickly.

Orchard Toys does it again! A lovely product - but then all Orchard Toys products are great. The puzzle is pretty big and younger children won't be able to put it together unaided but it's a good learning tool. My little one insists we live in greenland because the UK & Europe is coloured green so we're having to work our way out of calling the countries by their colours. The map is only poster paper so it will tear eventually (I think someone previously reviewed it as being disappointing because of this) but you would expect that with any poster. I keep meaning to glue it to a cardboard base but haven't got around to it yet. Would highly recommend.

Gave this to a 5 and a half year old boy who already had the world map version and whose mum rated it highly. I liked the quality of the materials and the fact that it comes in a sturdy box with a handle to look like a piece of luggage is an added bonus. The little boy's reaction to receiving it was enthusiastic. I can't comment on how durable it will be in the long-term but it looks great and very appealing. I will look forward to lockdown being over so I can help him assemble the puzzle and talk about the British Isles with him!

We bought this for our sons third birthday as he loves puzzles. We have done this several times in only a week as a family with his 4yo sister so well worth the money already. The quality is amazing as with all Orchard toys and the poster really helps though it's a shame it isn't the same size to help younger children by placing puzzle pieces on top of it. Has got my 4yo daughter asking all sorts of questions about countries, where we live and why. I'm sure my son will be asking the same soon too.

Great quality,interesting and educational, plus the added bonus of wall poster which is also excellent quality. Although some reviews recommend it for much younger children I would say the level was just right for my 8 year old granddaughter...easy enough for her not to be disheartened by it but challenging enough to keep her interested, plus it can be done on many different levels, either just as a colourful picture or taking in all the information it includes. Educational for grandma too!

It was great fun 'solving' this jigsaw with my students. They learned many fascinating things about Great Britain and they didn't even feel they were doing a Geography quiz. I strongly recommend it as it is a very sturdy thing and comes along with a huge colourful poster of Ireland and GB with additional information. Great discussion incentive and it is not too difficult for the ages it addresses. Great addition to my classroom games collection! Thank you Orchard!

Great puzzle, more interesting than the usual pirate or princess options available. My girls really enjoy doing this jigsaw and talking about the different parts of the world. Good quality product and the map is also very good. The only (very slight) negative is that it would be good to have the extra detail provided on the map also on the puzzle. I would say it is suitable from about 5 -7 years as the pieces are large and easy to handle. Would recommend.

Bought this for my sons birthday and he loved it! A great way to educate your child about different countries and it has fun facts about each with native animals etc. The puzzle itself is very good quality and comes with a wall map poster too which is a lovely extra. I got my sons laminated and now he refers to it a lot when we are talking about different countries we have visited or want to visit after lockdown. A great buy! You won’t be disappointed.

Excellent jigsaw! Great quality and packaging, and image is really clear and educational. Gave it as a gift for a 4th birthday and got a special thank you saying how much they loved it. It looked so good I also bought one for myself / my 4 year old. We enjoyed each doing a continent and then putting them all together to make the world. It is now my “go to” present for all the kids parties this year, as I think it is just brilliant....

Great puzzle - my puzzle-loving son loved it, just as he enjoyed the Great Britain one. My son is only 3, however, and his attention did start to drift towards the end [it is 150 pieces!} but it's not actually aimed at children as young as him and I know he will come back to it time and again. The poster is an added bonus and the information about the countries is really interesting and useful. Again, Orchard toys have come up trumps.
