The Optech D series cases seem to be an attempt to address a common problem with interchangeable lens cameras; that as soon as you change the lens, the camera doesn't fit into the case any more. The D series cases all come in a range of zoom sizes - so choose the one that fits your camera body and then buy the cases that fit the zooms you own. The good thing is that the cases are comparatively cheap, so buying two or three is a viable option. In order to get the price down, the cases are pretty bare-bones in terms of features, but they are made of thick neoprene, which provides both a good degree of water-resistance and protection against knocks. But that's literally all you get - a neoprene wrapper with small gaps to allow the strap of your camera to be passed out of the case so you can still use it. The cases all include a short leash so you can attach the case to the camera strap or body, and they are light enough that they actually don't cause too much of a problem if you just allow them to dangle while shooting. This particular case is designed to fit a medium-sized camera with a long zoom. It's a very good fit for my Lumix G6 Micro Four-Thirds camera with the 100-300 zoom attached, and it's big enough to take the lens with the hood fitted in the stowed (i.e. backwards) position. If anything, the body is slightly loose in the case, so it might hold a larger M4/3 camera - I suspect it is too small for a full-frame DSLR. Fitting the camera is slightly fiddly, as the easiest method is to fold the back of the case inside-out first, but removing the camera is easy enough. The leash fitted to this case comes with a choice of attachments - a tripod screw or a soft rubber ring that fits around the lens, or you can just attach it to the camera's own strap. The D series cases are a nice idea, well-executed - cheap, simple cases that provide good protection. If you have an interchangeable lens camera with which they are compatible, they're a good buy.

Despite owning several digicams, this was not a good fit for any of them - it is too small for something like a Sony NEX with a small lens, and much too big for my Canon IXUS. It looks as if it will be a decent fit for one of the smaller Canon PowerShots or similar - anything without a protruding lens will be fine. The D series cases are a nice idea, well-executed - cheap, simple cases that provide good protection. I have a Pentax Q camera which fits snugly into this neoprene case. Neoprene is a stretchy material; it will accommodate a Pentax Q body or a Pentax Q with either the 01 Standard Prime, or 03 Fish-eye (at a push) or 05 Toy Lens Telephoto. I don't own the 04 Toy Lens Wide, 08 Wide Zoom or 07 Mount Shield Lens but they are not as long as the Fish-eye lens and so the camera should still fit into the case, even with any of these lenses attached. The D-Micro pouch has a snap hook lanyard that can be clipped to the camera strap. This can help prevent losing the pouch when taking it off to take a photograph and saves having to stuff it into one's pocket. Alternatively, the snap hook lanyard can be fastened to a belt loop or bag strap. The front of the pouch is asymmetric to accommodate cameras with a hand grip. The pouch closes with two snap studs on its base. When the pouch is closed there is a space at the sides between the pouch flap and body of the pouch to allow a camera strap to come out of the pouch whilst still attached to the camera. This means that if a strap is not attached to the camera there is a space either side of the flap; so the pouch is not waterproof nor dust-proof but it does offer good protection. This pouch is an ideal protection for my camera if I want to put it into another bag - my handbag or overnight bag, for example. It is also a very discreet covering for my camera if I have it around my neck. There is no brand name or logo on the pouch front.

This is a padded case suitable for a small, compact camera or similar. I acquired it with my Sony Cybershot in mind and that measures 3.50 x 2.25 x 0.75 inches, and it fits in comfortably with plenty of leeway on the depth, which is a little strange as this would be the typical depth of a compact. It comes with a trailing lead, about four inches long, with a clip on the end which can be attached to a belt loop or similar. Alternatively it enables the case to be attached to the camera. It does not, however, come with a shoulder or hand strap so if you do not like the belt arrangement it will have to go into another bag, or into your pocket if you have one large enough. It is closed with a couple of press stud type fasteners on the base.It does have some padding for protection, but does not feel particularly well padded. Hence it is likely to provide some protection for knocks, but I would not totally rely on it to prevent damage. However, at least it provides some protection against scratches, dust etc.

I have an OP/TECH camera strap for my SLR and found it comfortable and well made. This camera case is also very well made with good strong stitching and two plastic poppers to keep it closed. It's also got a short lanyard with a clip to allow it to be fixed to the camera strapIt's made from a flexible stretchy material and I found I could fit my Olympus XZ-1 compact camera in it easily despite the case being called a Micro (case size 4.5"w x 2.5"h x 2"d.)It's different to most other cases as the material itself provides the protection and not a padded filler between two layers of nylon for example. So it feels thin and I'm unsure how much shock protection it will give.It will however protect from light showers, dust, scratches and the odd bump. It looks smart and discreet and getting the camera in and out is easy. The video gives you a bit more of an idea of the material and construction of the case, (the video has no speech).

Op Tech soft pouchThis is a neat and inexpensive camera care solution.Construction.The case is mad of neoprene and is very soft and should withstand day to day knocks etc. It offers good protection for your camera.Size.The case is quite small but holds entry level DSLR's easily and fits my Nikon V1 very well even with its tele lens fitted. The Nikon D3200 also fits in well but it can't accommodate my Nikon D800 as this is a largish camera. Check your cameras physical measurements against the case before buying. In use.It offers great protection and is easy to use. The case can even be washed i9f t gets very dirty. It comes with various ways of attaching it to the camera and is very flexible. This case has become the new home for my Nikon V1.Overall.A well-made small case aimed at entry levels DSLR's and Compact system cameras. It offers good protection and is cost effective so gets a recommendation from me.

This product is of excellent quality. It is made of neoprene type of material similar to that used for wet suits. It is therefore rain resistant (not waterproof) and stretches. I've just bought the longer nosed "zoom" version, but this one here is suitable for a Digital SLR with a Standard Kit zoom lens.In the instructions it advises you fold the pouch "inside-out" for a quick 'on & off' - a real handy hint - so don't throw the instructions without reading them first. I've had my 'standard' pouch for three or so years (bought it while in the USA)and I've had no problems with it.I highly recommended this as a purchase should you want to protect your camera from general knocks & scrapes, dust and the weather. If you go to the USA or have people coming over from there - buy it in the States as it is cheaper (which is no surprise).

For a well-fitted cover for my Sony a57 DSLR camera and lens. I do have the basic camera bag with a space for a few lenses and I wanted one for encasing the actual camera while I wear it across my shoulder. Sometimes I just want the camera and one lens with me to take shots. This case is long enough for my 70-300 zoom lens and fits well as it has some stretch being made of neoprene, the fabric wetsuits are made from. It has a flap at the back for fastening with 2 poppers. There is also a strap fastening attached so that the bag is well fixed via three different ways and means so that the bag won't drop or get lost while out and about. The bag has a lovely spongy padded feel to it which helps resist knocks, scratches and bumps and will be well used on my camera.

This small black pouch is ideal for a mini and small compact digital camera. It is made of neoprene the wetsuit fabric which gives it some stretch and a soft spongy feel to it.It had a short strap with a clip-end to attach to bags or belts. There are two poppers on a label that attach to the base of the camera pouch. It is stretchy so may need a little pulling over a camera to fit. I like the fact that it is spongy as that gives it some padding. Neat and discreet, too, and not hard and bulky like some cases. I'm sure my Lumix and Samsung will be fine in this pouch. I'm sure it was cheap to make and as it's US made there may be a premium to pay.

I ordered this item via the Amazon Marketplace, having already bought a smaller version of the same thing and finding my camera didn't fit. This seller despatched the item very quickly, packaged well. Unfortunately upon arrival it became apparent what I'd been sent was the smaller size DSLR size pouch, not the D-Pro size advertised.I reported this error and the seller could not have been more helpful or efficient in facilitating its return & refund. These things happen, and I'm very impressed with the response I received. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase from this person again, with complete confidence.

I've been using this pouch for my Canon Powershot D20, and am very pleased with the level of protection it affords. My SLR gear generally sits in Op/Tech cases and the cameras carried with Op/Tech straps, so I expected good things from this pouch and was not disappointed. The neoprene stretches neatly over the camera, and the internal hook lanyard clips to the camera strap to keep it secure when the camera is in use. It's simple - no pocket for SD card or spare battery - but effective in what is does. (I've also tried it with the Nikon Coolpix 33000, and it works well on this model too.)

I purchased this pouch with the need to find something really light that would protect my camera but not be so bulky that I could not put it into my handbag. It has fulfilled all my expectations and after practising putting it on and off I have found it to be ideal. Due to the small length of the kit lens the case is slightly big front to back but not by too much. The hieght dimension gives a good fit and due to the stretch will accomodate my tripod plate if left on the camera. Can recommend this product.

I've just received my Optech pouch and it is perfect. It fits my Sony Alpha 200 really well even with the 70-300mm lens on it. Its easy to put on and has a nifty strap that attaches to the place where you'd normally put the tripod (but I rarely use one. It also has other fittings for the strap though if you do use a tripod) so you won't put the pouch down while taking a photo and lose it. Its reasonably priced too.

This is a lovely fitted neoprene soft cover for many cameras.Make sure about the measurements before buying. It does not fit my Canon as the body of the pouch is not wide enough. It does fit most other midsize cameras though.very easy to open, soft and gentle.Ideal for the long lens approx. 6".Excellent value for money. Thanks to Amazon Vine for letting me try this for review free.

I bought this product to mimimize the space occupied by my Konica-Minolta A2 Dimage camera in my rucksack. It fits around the camera like a glove and offers the needed protection at a low weight I don't have the dexterity of the person from Op/Tech who provides a good video demonstation of the product on the web- but I guess I will improve with practice.
