Views from a semi proMy example is sharp contrasty, well made and wonderfully compact, on my Panasonic GX7 and GH3I also own the Panasonic 20mm f1.7 and the Pany 12-25 f2.8along with a whole range of nikon pro FX lenses, so I have some seriousbenchmarks to compare it against added to which, I'm fairly demanding in terms of image quality.Was as looking for a small versatile travel/walkabout lens and when I saw some available new (unboxed )for £129 here on Ebay so I ordered one.Not expecting much after reading some the 'pixel peeping' reviews, I was in fact delighted with the initial results in the real world far exceeding my expectations.The whole point of this lens is its SIZE enabling good quality results from an easily carried in a very compact versatile setup.Like all photography kit,

I first saw this lens on a new M10 mkII , I was amazed at how "convenient" the lens made the camera. Easy to pocket, good resolution (compared to a lot of compact zoom cameras) and fantastic movie performance. This lens has an almost silent electronic zoom which is great for videos. You can even alter the zoom speed from the M5's menu. This lens has transformed my M5 use, rather than lug around a camera bag and bulky zoom lenses I can either hang it around my neck and look like a tourist (which I probably will be at the time) or tuck it into a pocket or under my arm. With this lens you really need to get a spare battery because you'll want to keep the camera ready for those candid shots (switch off that nuisance "quick sleep" mode)

Despite some reviews saying this lens is not sharp, I have had excellent results. obviously not as good as a prime or a Pro lens but this is a very small lens. The size and weight allows me to carry my OMD M5 in a pocket so I'm now never without a camera. It's also worth getting the self closing lens cap. The Olympus one is ridiculously expensive, I bought the JJC one from Amazon. Good quality does the job at a fraction of the cost.

I purchased this 14-42 lens despite having a similar 14-54 pro lens simply as I was going to be carrying the body and lens for a week in Florence and would be using it in some of the best art galleries in the world and didn't want to compromise the performance of my OM-D M-1. I'm just back and it was the ideal camera. Good in available light as flash isn't permitted and great in daylight under the Tuscan sun.

This is a perfect size of lens for my OM-D EM10. When the camera is off it compacts down so the the whole camera fits in my coat pocket. The front Lens cap is tiny and easily lost so I got the auto open/close alternative which is fantastic. Initially I did not like the power zoom but got used to it now.

My last Olympus 14-42 lens stopped working in that it wouldn’t move at all, so this is a replacement one for my OMD camera. I haven’t used this one for long so can’t really comment on its durability but it’s as good as the one I had, was cheaper - just hope it keeps working for longer!

This is a replacement lens for my OM-D-EM10 camera as the one I had got damaged during my holiday last year. The lens is the smallest zoom lens and takes excellent pictures for a travel camera. This lens is the same and at a great price, probably the cheaper one can get.

I think this is a great little lens - and a great improvement over its predecessor - both in terms of size/weight and image quality. Great as a carry around lens on any Olympus M43 camera. Very impressed.

Works very well, as a slimline replacement to the standard lens. I occasionally have a problem with the auto focus not working properly which I haven't figured out yet.
