I love Nalgene bottles. I can treat it horribly and it'll be fine--the best type of relationship! In the winters, I pour in boiling hot water to keep my tummy warm; it also doubles as a bedwarmer and I even hug it to sleep if I'm too cold. (Being small and female, my body doesn't produce a lot of its own natural heat when in repose, so I need an alternative source of heat). In the warmer seasons, I put in ice or stuff the entire bottle in the freezer. I love that the lid is attached so I can't lose it. It also serves as a nice flexible handle to carry the bottle when it has boiling water inside. There is no weird plastic smell. It's reasonably priced (and I hope it stays that way).In a world where companies are always giving out free water bottles as a way of advertisement, Nalgene bottles are the only water bottles I would ever put out money to buy. The best part is that these bottles never leak and it's not a struggle to open them. I've lost two Nalgene bottles: the first on the train during undergrads, and the second in lecture in grad school: and I was crushed each time, searching frantically before replacing them. I've been using these bottles ever since high school. They're just perfect, versatile, and simple. And I love the different clear colors--I try a different color each time I have to replace my bottle: purple, green, and pink. Great for the gym. Great for hikes. Great for taking to school. I rarely never have my Nalgene water bottle with me. They are the reason I remember to keep myself reasonably hydrated. It has become a part of my everyday essentials!

This design is cute, and the bottle itself is Nalgene durable. Measurement marks are on the backside in both ounces and milliliters. It's the same type of bottle I've trusted for years for both daily use and for New England hiking/backpacking. The only reason I'm buying a new one is I lost one of mine. I prefer this more classic type of Nalgene (Wide Mouth Bottle) over some of the newer bottles with narrow necks and/or straws. It's easier to clean well and is more compatible with some of my hiking gear. I pair this type of bottle with an insert-able silicone splash guard to make sipping easier.I'm giving it only four stars because when I received the item the paint already had a scratch.I'm sure the paint of the design and measurement marks will wear off over time, as has been my experience with these bottles in the past. But I do use my bottles daily, in addition to lots of hiking trips where they get pretty banged up. After a few years of use the paint tends to get pretty worn off, the surface of the bottle is covered with shallow little scratches, and the plastic piece looped around the neck that keeps the cover attached when it's unscrewed will sometimes will break. But I can live with the paint wearing off and having to buy a replacement cover every couple of years, because the integrity of the bottle itself is most important to me and I find the bottle itself to be incredibly durable.

I've used bottles like these for many years. I couldn't tell you what number this one is. I usually lose them (which is why I purchased this one) or they get left at someone's house and appropriated. Anyway, I went with something different than the boring blue and gray I usually have. The pink with dark pink lid is actually pleasant in color. I can easily see it from across the room without it standing out. It's just a nice color, and I am not usually a fan of pink.I carry this bottle with me every day, whether I'm at home or out. I am almost OCD about drinking 64 ounces of water every day so this bottle is how I track it. (I have a health reason for making sure I drink that amount).I can't go wrong with this product in any color. They get dropped, sat on, rolled down rocky banks, left in hot cars, filled with an occasional adult beverage, bitten by a bobcat (that really happened), dropped off the hood of a moving truck, even stood in for a foam roller when I had an intense charlie horse during halftime of a game I was playing in. However, my stupid friend just HAD to know this for a fact, and trust me it's a fact... these are not bulletproof. Don't ask. It involved a few hours in the local ER to remove what was left of the bottle from his dumb@$$ shins.

So, I have a bit of an obsession with naglene water bottles. I keep a couple filled in my car at all times, one in my purse, a few in the house, in each of our emergency packs...you get the idea. They are a perfect size, the wide mouth makes them easily accessible when drinking and using most water filtration devices, and they fit an 18 oz metal cup on the base for cooking, etc. when camping/hiking.We have gone hiking and camping many times with these, and with kids (and being a bit rough and tumble myself) they hold up well to being dropped, thrown into day packs, being tossed around the car, so on and so forth. There have been so many times one of these water bottles will hit the ground and I will think it's the end,and surprisingly they survive without a crack.I like the simplicity of these bottles that they don't have straws/spouts to have to clean or get mold out of. They are better for older children because of this, and are certainly not leak proof when open, but I have never had one leak in my car or bag when closed. These are not priced any better on Amazon than in most retail shops, but you will find a much better variety of colors here for sure!

Bought this bottle for work and hillwalkingWide mouth makes it good for refilling in rivers/streams and easy to add energy tablets/powders to your drink, but can make it a bit more difficult to drink from on the move, might end up with a bit of a wet chest. Seen you can buy adaptors for it though to make the mouth narrower, haven't tried these but could be useful.Iv found it very useful as a refill bottle, keep a sports bottle in outside pocket of my rucksack when walking as easy to drink from and a Nalgene bottle in my back to refill it from, as the Nalgene bottle won't leak in my bag like a sports bottle could.Screw top is very secure and bottle is lightweight but solid.Seems to be prettyrobust and think it will last a long time.Haven't noticed any plasticy taste from it either so that's a bonus.Has volume increments up the side too, usefully if you are wanting to keep track of how much fluid youv take on board. These seem to be durable too and don't think they will be the kind of markings to rub off easily.I bought the 500ml size and it's about the size of a pint glass.

My girlfriend's family goes through water bottles like nobody's business. I imagine that after a while the cost really makes a dent. I had suggested to her that she tries a nalgene as I had been using one for work and loved it. She explained that my 32 oz bottle was too cumbersome for her and she wouldn't have been able to hold it in her cup holder. On top of that, I believe she just had an aversion to switching from her disposable bottles. Anyway, I did some searching and found this 16 ozer. It holds the same amount as most water bottles and is about the same size.I purchased this as a stocking stuffer, imagining that nothing would really come of it. As of Christmas, I've seen her use it exclusively for her water. On top of that, she isn't misplacing or confusing bottles with anyone else!So either she likes me enough to use it despite her preference or she really likes the bottle. I'll go with a little of both. Also, just to add, if you've owned a nalgene you know about their great quality and durability. If you haven't, try it out! You won't be disappointed.

This is my third Nalgene bottle that I've owned. The first is small (16 oz) and the second I lost around the holidays, so this was its replacement. I loved the color and design on this specific bottle, and would definitely say it is my favorite water bottle that I own (I have many). I actually have it beside me right now as I write. Some key selling points: (1) It's tough. I've dropped mine many times and aside from a few scratches and scuff marks it hasn't sustained any damage. (2) You know how some plastic cups and bottles make things taste chemically or weird (or am I just sensitive)? This doesn't. I only use it for water and clean it regularly, but I have never noticed any chemical taste leached into the water from the bottle.Combined with point (1) which rules out glass and many metal bottles that tend to taste good but are prone to damages, this is a very happy optimization of both worlds. Whether backpacking through the mountains, lifting weights at the gym, or carrying water to classes with me, I use this bottle every day and take it almost everywhere.

First off : This IS the BEST water bottle out there in any size!!!There are so many reasons to get a Nalgene water bottle : quality of produce, ease of cleaning, lack of odors, color options, size options ...just to name a few!I started off with two of the 32 oz and it was fantastic, but heavy when full! And then I left one behind (sad day) I needed another one, and came across the 14 oz size and got two of them.. and this is what I found.....32 oz1. Holds a lot of water! Fantastic when you need it!2. The sipper is very useful, get one!3. It gets heavy :/ but to lighten the load just drink some of the water! Great reminder! ;)14 oz1. Can hold more then 16 oz. didn't do an exact measurement of how much more.2.Sipper for 32oz does not fit the 14 oz bottle (but that's ok with me it does not spill like the 32)3. Fits great into my diaper bag, cup holder and other smaller places.4. Easy to hold onto!5. One 32oz bottle can fit into two 14 oz bottles. If you fill the 32oz to just under the narrowing all but 100 ml will fit.

I love this bottle! I've been using Nalgenes for years, but being an outdoors person, I'd always only had the 1 quart 32 oz size. I got this for my mom because she wanted a bottle to carry water around with her but complained that all my bottles were too large. When it arrived, I found how easily it could fit inside my purse (instead of hanging it outside my purse or bag) and how much more convenient it was for every day living (as opposed to outdoor living). I ended up getting one for myself, and use it way more often than my 32 oz bottles now for daily routine. I take it traveling and it fits in my purse great. Nalgenes can take abuse, are good quality, durable, and I would highly recommend this brand. For ladies especially (or kids), I would highly recommend this size. The product came as advertised, promptly, and in good condition. There are some other reviews stating their deliveries coming in bad condition which is unfortunate, but mine came brand new with plastic covering, etc. Very happy with purchase!

There can't be much to say that hasn't been said about this, but I'll give it a shot.Pros:It's indestructible. There hasn't been a dent in it or a crack in over a year of abuse. If you're looking for a reliable bottle that won't leak or break, this is it. You really can't go wrong with this thing, if you're just looking for a reliable bottle. I'm a pretty picky person with my beverage containers, however. With that said, I do have a few complaints.Cons:The volume markings wore off uncomfortably quickly. It's not a requirement that I drink exactly X liters per day, but it's nice to see them there and it's useful for making mixed drinks. And it just looks old and dilapidated with the worn off markings. The cap is a bit annoying to deal with.I have to tuck the band behind the bottle with my fingers while drinking, lest the cap swing back and hit me in the face. A hinge would probably be less secure and break more easily, but I wouldn't mind a little sacrifice on that to make drinking less annoying.

I've owned this style of Nalgene water bottle for 10 years. I bought another one today to keep at my workstation and I'm happy to say that they still seem to make them of the same quality. The only changes that I know of are they switched to a BPA-free manufacturing process, and they placed their logo more prominently across the front of the bottle. When I was in high school I would bring my Nalgene with me to school every day, when I started working I would bring it to work every day, and I've brought it on every camping trip I've been on since I bought it. It's been dropped dozens of times, accidentally smacked against things, run over by a quad, and there are only minor scratches. The lid goes on easily, and the shape of the threads cause the bottle to seal without any sort of rubber membrane to break or become scratched. Unless you are some sort of superhuman, I'm pretty sure it is impossible to damage the threads by over tightening by hand.

I'm into my second year with this bottle--two of them, to be specific. Things I like about it: (1) It holds roughly 15 ounces, so it's just about the right amount for me as far as something I want to carry around. (2) It's the wide-mouth version, so it's easy to fill from a pitcher, a water cooler, or even a drinking fountain or tap. The wide mouth also makes it possible to put ice cubes into it, and to take big gulps when you need them. (3) The cap is attached to the bottle, so you don't have to worry about losing it. (4) It's easy to clean. (5) It's lightweight. (6) It's BPA-free.My only complaint about it is that it comes covered with an odd, hazy plastic film that looks like it's supposed to be peeled off,and there were no instructions not to do so. However, several months after peeling it off, I noticed that the label and markings have started to come off and stick to my fingers, which can be awkward and not easy to get off your skin.

I have been using the wide-mouth Nalgene water bottles for YEARS, and got this one because I loved the color combination - the outdoor red is much deeper than the lollipop red and less orange colored, and it just looks nice. One of my favorite parts about these bottles is that they hold 32 oz of water and that it's easy to put ice cubes in them to keep things cold. The ones without the wide openings are much more difficult to add ice to and that's a drawback to me since the first thing I always start with are ice cubes. The vivid colors show up well and make them easy to see. I've been challenging myself to drink two full Nalgene bottles of water per day,and these bottles make it much easier to do since they hold such a significant quantity of water and are easy to transport. I add a carabiner to the strap for the lid and these can clip onto anything to take with you!

I ordered the Pink Bloom water bottle, and it arrived with scratches everywhere as if it were previously used. I was upset about this so I wrote to Amazon and the very same day a customer service rep apologized for the condition of the package and shipped a brand new water bottle to ship next day. The new bottle arrived in perfect condition. The design is very pretty. I had a narrow mouth Nalgene bottle but it was too hard to clean, this bottle I can clean with no problem. I use it everyday at my office, and always get compliments about the quality of the bottle. I was very happy that Amazon took my complaint seriously, and went as far as to make sure I had a replacement ready the next day, free of any additional shipping charges. It's a great bottle, absolute worth the $11. I think it works better than Hydro Flask, which always tends to leak.

i searched high and low looking for something to replace my kids thermoses that had the built in straws. my 10yo grader was just so thirsty, he said there wasn't enough to drink. larger water bottles were too tall to fit into my kids' landsend lunch bags. several water bottles have an exposed mouthpiece, the ones with covered mouthpieces were a pain to clean.enter nalgene - i'd forgotten how sturdy and practical these water bottles are, was pleasantly surprised to see it came in a 16oz size. the large mouth makes it easy to refill from a water fountain, and the wide lid is easy to open and close securely. my kids have commented on just how great these bottles are,and said that they would also be a good size for spring soccer practices since it's not yet warm enough to warrant lugging the 1/2 gallon beverage jug to the fields.
