I recommend this item...... This item I enjoy using either out and about or indoors..... It’s good for cold beverages.... Can freeze water in it without destroying it it will return to shape when it is thawed out..... Careful that you don’t drop it because you can crack the lid Amazon does sell replacement lids...... I’ve had an used this item for over 10 to 12 years now I’ve purchased it for other family members as well...... If you are environmentally concerned this is good because it’s reusable.... I use filtered water in this and it tastes great...... In a pinch it can also substitute as a cold compress if already frozen.... I enjoy using these because it keeps me from buying disposable plastic bottles which mess up the environment.....It has a good sturdy construction to a degree....... Do not suggest using hot liquids....In a pinch it also can be used as a dry storage container for some items..... It also works well with D-ring or carabiner...... I also suggest that you purchase splashguard you can find them on Amazon...

All of the reviews were right about these not getting moldy. For that, they're spectacular. What I didn't see/read before I bought this bottle (and I bought 2 in order to force myself to drink more water) was about their initial taste/smell. Before I use any dish for the first time, I rinse it out. I've had these bottles for over a month now, and the smell that was initially there is still there, despite drinking different beverages out of them. At first, (and maybe the smell was just overwhelming), but it seemed like it would give my drink an aftertaste. I don't really notice anything underlying when I drink out of them, but even if the bottle is empty, that smell is still there. It's not bad enough that I don't wanna use the bottle, it's just obvious. So like, it wouldn't turn me off from buying these bottles again. Maybe the smell coats all of the bad things that happen to other water bottles. HAHA. Maybe the smell is for my safety.

My dad takes two Tritan "Silos" to work every day, he uses them as pitchers for tea. I've held his before, but not until I got this bottle did I realize just how big this bottle feels in comparison to a regular 32 ounce Nalgene. After two days of trying to use this as my main bottle, I switched back to my 32 ounce. It is nice to not have to fill up as often, but this bottle is just too heavy. However, the Silo does make a great portable pitcher and I still use it all the time to carry extra beverage. And the price/quality ratio can't be beat.I've never had an HDPE Nalgene before and I must say that I like it. I do not like the regular transparent Tritan because it is too brittle. HDPE is far more pliable, especially with hot beverages. It is not totally opaque, you just cannot see your hand through the bottle.Overall I like this bottle and it will be a favorite in my bottle arsenal for many years to come.

I love love love my Nalgene bottles and I own 4 now. Except for my 48oz bottle (I use on trips or longer outings), my other 32 oz bottles are used every day, I always have one in the freezer half full and switch them out at 12 hr intervals (give or take). This purchase was for a third 32 oz, because I realized I needed another one during summer months when the ice just won't last all day. It also gives me a chance to keep a frozen one in the cooler when traveling to keep other items cold and have extra water if needed. If you've been buying bottled water..... stop, get a re-usable bottle and save yourself a lot of money. The wide mouth is especially great to get ice cubes in with no hassle,If you don't like drinking out of the wide mouth (think starting to take a drink in a car during acceleration), you can purchase a Humangear Capcap 2-in-1 Accessory Cap or an Easy Sipper by Nalgene.

This 1-pint bottle is NOT the most common size for a Nalgene bottle. It's half that size. 1 pint (16 oz) is half of a quart (32 oz, ~ 1 liter). I have about a dozen of those larger bottles (and they're great), but wanted something smaller for shorter trips and easier packing. Which this one is perfect for. So I got it. Same HDPE material as my larger ones (I prefer it over the older Lexan and even newer Tritan ones because of its long and safe experience as a plastic used in food packaging). I trust this bottle. And its construction is top notch, so I know it'll outlast me.Note that the "wide" cap for the 1 pint size is slightly smaller than the wide lid for the 1-liter bottles.I was hoping they'd be interchangeable, but nope. Might be tricky to find replacement lids, whereas lids for the 1-liter bottles are pretty easy to come by. Still an excellent bottle though.

This is the perfect size water bottle for casual use. I wouldn't rely on this half bottle as a primary water storage in the wood, but if it's the only one you got it will get the job done.I keep mine in my every day pack, and this little bottle motivates me to drink water more often than the larger model. For me I feel accomplished when I finish drinking 16 oz, and soon after I'm ready for refill after refill. Drinking from larger containers was a drag. Lugging around copious amounts of water wasn't fun. It just seemed like more work than necessary. My gripe is the bottle had a funny taste to it. My bottle was as though the it was stored with some kind of perfume, or fragrance.Washing a few times in baking soda, rinsing with bleach, and drying in the sun took care of 99.9% of the oder. Therefore I am satisfied 99.9% with my purchase.

The gold standard of water bottles. I like Nalgene's quality and price. I have used the regular hard plastic Nalgenes but switched to these softer lighter HDPE bottles recently. I like that's lighter and a bit more flexible than the regular hard plastic Nalgenes. I drink 4 of these a day to stay hydrated. I also like to add the Human Gear wide mouth to narrow mouth adapters so i have both options. Being wide mouth its easy to clean and add water to. I carry these everywhere i go in a small draw string gym sack with other daily essential items like my Leatherman, a couple pieces of fruit, butane lighter, Shemagh, cell phone battery portable charger, phone cables and adapters and water purification tablets. If there is one item i never leave without its my water bottle. STAY HYDRATED !

This Nalgene bottle is made with a softer HDPE plastic that is very resistant to cracks caused by dropping bottle on hard surfaces. The lid seals tightly and the lid strap pivots easily when opening or closing the bottle. The bottle is translucent not clear. Some reviewers have complained of a plastic taste in water consumed from HDPE bottles. I have not noticed any taste. This bottle is ideal for demanding environments where it might be crushed, banged, dragged, thrown or dropped- white-water sports, mountain climbing, mountain biking etc.I have several of the standard large-mouth Nalgene bottles made with the transparent or tinted hard plastic and they are great bottles. But,if you drop it on the edge of rock or other sharp, hard surface there is a risk the bottle could crack.

This replaced a Nalgene Tritan that I lost. Decided to buy this version because it was on sale and about $6 less than the Tritan. I was a bit concerned at the style difference and comments regarding the smell. Before using, I ran it through the dishwasher. After, it still had a very faint plastic(?) smell, but certainly no weird taste when drinking water. It kinda looks like a urine sample container (sorry, gotta be honest) so I covered it in a few stickers I had laying around (finally, a use for them!) When on a flat surface, it wobbles ever so slightly. But really...it's a container for holding water and it works just fine. If I end up losing this one and still want to be cheap,I wouldn't hesitate purchasing again.

I've neen using Nalgene bottles for years and love them especially for motorcycle trips and hiking. Single use plastic bottles are the scourge of the earth. I'm trying the HDPE (UVPE) after reading they are one of the safest plastics for drinking. I'm also trying a heavier stainless steel 40oz bottle. People say the HDPE imparts odors/tastes to the water but I really don't notice anything. I am also confused if plastic imparts a flavor or taste, doesn't that mean some sort of plastic chemical is leaching into the water?*** Update. HDPE nalgene bottles are more forgiving than the Tritan bottles when dropped. Lost a litre of water dropping a Titan bottle on some rocks while hiking.Bottle shattered.

Man, do you want something that holds water? BOY HOWDY do I have some good news for you. THIS HOLDS WATER. It holds water so good it deserves a good job sticker. Now, you might be thinking to yourself, "OMFG HOW CAN IT GET ANY BETTER THAN THAT?" Well, good sir/maam, I have something great to tell you. Not only does this water bottle hold water, YOU CAN DRINK FROM IT! No lie, not kidding, telling you the honest truth. If that doesn't get you satisfied with a water bottle I dont know what will.BTW it is a very sturdy water bottle and people dont like some colors so that color will always be cheaper. That being said, a lot of people throw all kinds of stickers on these things anyway so go nutz.

16oz / 1 pint size is great for packing light on a small day trip where you don't anticipate needing much water. Wide mouth lid makes it easy to wash up. It should be noted that the lid is a bit smaller than the "normal" 32oz / 1 quart sized nalgene, so you won't be able to interchange accessories. For someone who drinks a lot of water like me, this size feels like a shot glass of water... BUT it is something... and perfect when your bag for the day simply doesnt have room for a larger bottle. I give it an easy 5 stars for the usual high quality that nalgene is known for (durable, no leaks, water doesn't taste funny), and the fact that the size is small but very functional.

I recommend this item....... if you are concerned about the environment..... if you do not want to use disposable plastic bottles this bottle here is very good it is reusable easy to clean it does freeze well it doesn’t lose its shape....It works well with cold beverages and in a pinch if it is frozen it can be used as a cold compress.... I also recommend using the splashguard purchasing a splashguard from Amazon....... if everyone in the world purchased bottles like this there might be a lot less plastic trash around.... it also works well with drygoods.... Also can be used as a dry storage container for some items...... it works well with a carabiner or D ring.....

Need to know how much your scout is drinking during a summer hike? This is a great water bottle for you! Being made of HDPE, the bottle is more forgiving than the harder plastic bottles. We’ve had issues with other water bottles cracking when kids drop them on the ground. The softer plastic seems to handle abuse better. The markings on the side help with measuring water for cooking if needed. The only negative things is that it is difficult to clean under the top shoulder, but this is common for this style bottle. A good bottle brush cleaning when you get home ensure no stuff gets stuck inside.

If you've had a Nalgene in the past this bottle might come as a surprise. It's made of a different material than the majority of bottles and is actually a lot softer than the standard Lexan. That being said, the quality of the bottle is fantastic. It doesn't seem to retain much smell from liquids inside, so day old water doesn't make everything that comes after it taste funny. It's extremely durable, though it does have some give, which is a good thing considering my last Nalgene, Lexan type plastic, broke from being dropped. It also fits their wide mouth accessories just fine, as expected.
