Pros:- EXCELLENT temperature retention. Ice frequently last 24+ hours if left unopened.- The 64oz size is great for large capacity beverage carry. 64oz also conveniently qualifies this as a growler for beer.- The black color is a basic and functional. The powder coat is not prone to scratching or chipping, so very durable.Cons:- Biggest here: Loss of carbonation occurs when lid isn't absolutely cranked on. This means carbonated beverages tend to go flat after ~36 hours. Particularly frustrating when using as a growler...- The Hydroflask logo is large and center stage, detracting from the sleek look the powder coat provides.- The larger size compared to some counterparts often feels clunky. While it provides convenience in filling, the size also detracts from mobility.Overall:This would be 5-star if it weren't for the carbonation issue. The 64oz Hydroflask is usually reserved for special occasions warranting a need for big volumes of water. Due to size and packing, I tend to prefer taking two 32oz Hydroflasks with me instead. If you're looking for a bottle to transport uncarbonated beverages (water, tea, coffee, etc) and need large quantities, this works well. Again, I would consider multiple 32oz versions instead. The Hydroflask excels in both temperature retention, aesthetics, and convenience versus other stainless water bottles I have used though, especially at this size. If you are looking for carbonated beverage carry, specifically beer, a swingtop container may suit your needs a little better, though this product will certainly work in a pinch.

I purchased this in conjunction with the Wide Mouth Flip Lid and JugLug Flask Handle. Historically, I've had issues with breaking water containers. While this container seems quite expensive at first glance, it's not really when I compared it to the combined cost of various $5-15 water containers I've demolished throughout the year. This thing is metal, heavy duty and would rightfully be advertised as a "tactical" water bottle. I imagine you could do some damage if (combined with the JugLug - Flask Handle) you swung this thing around and cracked someone with this thing. ATTENTION! I AM NOT ADVOCATING VIOLENCE OR MISUSE OF THIS PRODUCT AND TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY DEATH OR INJURY WHICH RESULTS FROM MISUSE...or even proper use.If you're in the market for a heavy duty, durable, well made beverage container, the Hydro Flask would be a good buy. If you're interested in a beverage container that could also be used for self defense, this Hydro Flask does have very particular set of skills, skills it has acquired over a very long career. Skills that make it a nightmare for people that might attack you... as long as you also purchase the JugLug - Flask Handle.

I love this, it keeps my water fresh all day long! I don't like icy cold water,so for me, the little loss of coldness in the water is just perfect. I fill it upevery morning and spend my entire day drinking water that is not by any means hot.I live in the caribbean so you can imagine the horribly high temperatures, i have evenleft the bottle in my car in the sun and although it heats up on the outside the waterremains cool. The bottle is life proof, it has rolled around on the floor and many time in the beach andstill not a scratch so Im very happy about that. The one minor flaw this bottle has for me is that there's nothing to hold it from, so I startedgrabbing it by the cord of the lid and of course,it broke after a week. I wish it would have hada handle or something of the sort so that one would not have to hold the entire bottle to move itaround (i have small hands and can barely hold it with one hand). And in that sense, I wish thecord of the lid were a bit stronger.

I'm an Account Manager for a POP Display company, and am in the car a great deal. I had a 32 oz. Nalgene bottle that I used to carry around with me, but by midday, I was drinking warm water, regardless of how much ice I put in there. I actually had no intention of buying this, but when I saw it as a Deal of the Day, I bought it on a whim. I am so glad I did! I can fill this large bottle, and yes, it is very large, and have great cold water all day long.As an experiment, I filled this, put the lid back on, and let it sit on my counter for 24 hours. Now it wasn't freezing cold after the 24 hours, but the water was still plenty colder than room temperature. I can't wait to bring this hiking with me this summer,as drinking warm water gets old in a hurry. The only downside to this is that it is pretty heavy. If you're drinking out of it while driving, it can be a bit cumbersome. I imagine most people won't use it for that reason, but it is still deserving of 5 stars.

This flask is everything I was hoping for and more. The vacuum insulation is amazing. I had ice stay solid for two days even with the lid off. I read the reviews and bought the straw lid for it so it would be easier to drink from and handle. I strongly recommend buying that option as it is rather heavy when full making it hard to drink from an open bottle. Though it has many uses, I bought this as a water bottle so I could keep track of how much water I was drinking a day. Since it has 64 oz, I know if I drink it all, I have my quota for hydration filled for the day without having to carry multiple water bottles around or filling it up (no access to filtered water where I work). Also, there is no condensation on the outside of the bottle so I can put it anywhere without making a watery mess where ever I put it down. I can't recommend this product enough. Its awesome.

Prior to purchasing this product, I made sure I watched and read up on all of the positive and negative reviews both from youtube and amazon. Here are my personal conclusions:Pros: Cold stayed cold for well over the advertised time of 12 hours. The temp of hot beverages did not go down until approximately 5-6 hours after which is exactly as advertised (and even after that time it was still pretty hot). Some people have stated that the paint chips easily or the product dents easily; however, this was not the case for me. I believe that only occurs if you're careless with your product and throw it around.Cons: The only con is when it is full, it can be a bit heavy and difficult to hold if you hold from the neck of the bottle. However, i just hold it in my finger from the latch that connects the lid to the bottle and there has been no problem with that.

Ordered this flask after reading a bunch of reviews about how well it keeps liquids cool. It works! I use it mostly for beer, so I don't know how it handles warm liquids, but overall this flask rocks! I've gotten my growler filled with beer over my lunch break and left it in my hot car for the rest of the day and when I got it home and opened it the beer was still cold and frothy as though it had just been poured from the tap.The cap of my flask cracked after just a couple of uses, but it was a cinch to go to Hydroflasks website and order another one which they shipped to me quickly for no charge. The new cap works perfectly and no cracks have appeared since (and I have used this flask for a LOT of beer). My only qualm is that due to the size of the container, it is difficult for me to pour into a pint glass when full. Other than that, great product!

2 examples of why it works:1) I filled it with beer and traveled 6 hours from sea level to 8,000 ft. and opened it 24 hours later. The beer was still cold and fully carbonated!2) I filled it with ice cold water and left it in the back seat of my car during a hot day. That night I opened it and the water was still cold and refreshing! The wide mouth also makes it really easy to clean, resulting in the water in example number 2 tasting like water and not beer. This is also the perfect size for a day summit in the Sierras.Note that if you plan on using this as a traveling growler at multiple breweries, some breweries are happy putting a sticker on it while others do not have a sticker than can double as an approved label and will not fill it for you.I am unfamiliar with growler laws in states other than California.

My water stays cold all day long. Its big and its heavy duty. I fill it up in the morning with ice water and take it work; my water stays cold all day long (more than 8 hrs). I love this beast of a flask! I plan purchasing more products from Hydro Flask!UPDATE: I dropped a 40 oz hydro flask with hot coffee - the wide mouth lid had popped off somehow while walking and burned my hand resulting in a dropped and dented hydro flask. I sent an email describing what had happened and a photo - the hydro flask company replaced my hydro flask and threw in a different lid (the one with the straw) - the company is awesome, I will always sing their praises. Awesome product from an awesome company - BTW,the same issue with the lid popping off never happened again.

So awesome! I left it outside, It's usually 80 degrees Fahrenheit, and I didn't notice any drop in temperature. The water was still cold and freshening! The only problems I have been seeing is there are some black spots inside the bottom part of the bottle. I didn't have this problem, but my mom and my aunt has it. I tried cleaning it with baking soda and another time with white distilled vinegar, but to no avail.I don't have it anymore, because I lost it... I bought it during a flash sale, pretty much the only time I would spend $37 on a jug. Would not buy it again, unless the price is on discount. However you can't really find any other cooler that's 64oz. like Hydroflask.

So far, I am very impressed with this container. Yes, it is super expensive $50 bucks! And while I don't believe the stories of people leaving it in a 250 degree car in Arizona where the water is still ice cold, in a normal warm house environment it really is keeping the water ice cold. All day in a warm room ~80 degrees and there is still ice in there 9 hours later. I find the water is too cold to drink usually!Compare this to a "polar bottle" that I also bought, filled at the same time this morning, the water is lukewarm. Which some people may like, it is easier to drink. But I prefer the ice cold that this container is holding. You get what you pay for I think!

I bought the 64 ounce Hydro Flask after reading several glowing reviews and watching a few videos. I had high expectations for it and they were all met. I work as an irrigation technician in Texas. The hotter it is outside, the more I am working outside so I need something that will keep water cold even when I leave it in my truck for a couple of hours in 100% heat. The Hydro Flask does that easily. One, based on preference, could argue that it works too well. I have to be conscientious when putting ice in it in the morning because if I put in too much, it will be too cold to drink for a long while. I plan on getting a smaller one for coffee during the winter.

Bought these kinda shooting in the dark for a product to get away from plastic water bottles and boy did I luck out! These bottles are AWESOME they keep liquids ice cold all day long with no perspiration whatsoever. I haven't tried hot liquid thus far as I primarily wanted them for water bottles. My wife was so impressed with the bottles we will be buying her one as well. Great product would recommend these with highest praises. If I had to say there was any place for improvement it would be that it would be nice if they had made a indented grab/handle spot but I knew there was none when I bought them, they are after all a half gallon jug. A+++

This thing is the bomb. I got it filled at 5pm the other night. Sealed tight. No leaks. Nothing. It was still warm to the touch outside too. I left it in my hot car in the hot nashville summer heat of about 95 degrees because I had things to go do and couldn't run home. I finally got home at 8:30. The growler was a little cool but not too much at all. No sweating. Nothing. I opened it at 8:45 and poured it. ICE cold. It was like I just walked next door to go home after getting it filled. I was very impressed. So I left it out for about another hour or so and when I was done it was still chilled. I'm in love. Get this. You won't regret it.

This bottle does the job, and does it well. I've filled it about 3/4 full of pellet-shaped ice, and two days later, there was still a chunk of ice in it! It hold a lot, but it also weighs a bit when it's full, so keep that in mind. It's very hot where I live, and having this much ice-cold water on hand when I'm out and about is a Godsend. The only downside to these bottles is that they are made of metal, so if they're bumped hard enough, they will dent. I've not dented this one, but a few of the smaller ones that we have do indeed have some battle scars. All in all though, it's the best water bottle I've ever used, and I've used plenty!
