... will explain things in a simple way...I recently got a Ryzen 7 2700X and decided, after some research, to go straight for a X470 Motherboard (that my finances could stretch to) which is designed for these cpus, to avoid issues. You get a thick manual with plenty of info on the board, io shield, a disc and two sata connectors. The board feels good and strong and looks good in mostly black. It has very particular instructions on where NOT to place dry risers; probably best to obey them, they`re easy to follow as its marked on the MB back.It has plenty of connections: 2 USB 3.1 and 2 USB 2.0 with additional support for 4 extra for each.Support for fan pumps, rgb, blah, blah and interestingly TWO Motherboard connectors though I only needed to connect to one, not sure what the other one is for.It also has a configurable back light that flashes several basic colours, but you can`t get a true mix of colours. However there are some nice flash options such as Morse Code and Breathing. I like Breathing cos it makes the pc look like its innards are alive and pulsating slowly! A gimmick which I didn`t get the board for. You need to download and install Mystic Light from AMD`s website for this to work. It`s on the disk, but I only use the disk to see what I need and installed updated versions off the net.I was going to install my Sound blaster card, but the Motherboard sound does a great job by itself and you can install their Nahimic Drivers (yea weird name) for further sound enhancements if you want. There is a very easy overclocking option on the MB Bios to push her (both cpu and memory) to the max with just a couple of clicks, but get ready for the Stock Cpu fan to start getting a little noisy.I suggest getting the Ryzen Master utility off the AMD forums as that gives true Temperature readings of the CPU since other 3rd-party monitoring utilities keep giving me ridiculous heat readings such as 109 Centigrade! So far, so good. It all started up straight away, by the way. I won`t give it full marks yet as I`ve only had this a week and want to see how it fares after a month or so of use. But signs are positive.Update edit:Well it does a fine job. Runs my 1060 and Ryzen extremely well utilising the ram speeds. Discovered it has usb 3.1 Gen 1 and Gen 2 ports. Added am nvme m.2 ssd and it slots that perfectly (update the Bios) and runs it very well. Very pleased, so I`m updating to 5 stars.

pros:Nahimic audio, I bought because of this, and it works amazingnice overall audio quality, and the hdmi works above my expectation as wellnice bios, nice quality boardit overclocks my cheap 2400MHz RAM to 3333MHz !!! - memory overclock function is easy and safe.contra:The VRM is too warm at idle, but not too hot at high load, so it should be more efficient. The MSI site is good, but they are lying about the refresh date. They only put a new date, but it is still the same program, BIOS, driver, not a fresh one. Asus provides more often support. When I bought I did not have the function of the IGP oc, only a month later. (but now it works well)Nahimic audio does not work with firefox for years by now but they do not solve it,so I changed to chrome, but Idisappointed with it, so I moved on to opera, but I still missing some of the firefox function.Lack of the offset CPU volt is a big problem, If I use fix voltage I cannot change in Ryzen Master, but if I use Auto, the CPU sets way higher voltage what it is necessary, so I have to set the processor oc mode manually to make it efficient. I agree, if I had that, it would be confusing to recalculate the voltage if I am doing manually OC in RM, but I would use more often in auto mode. The CPU using 1.51Volt for 3,7 GHz and I can't change it. A -100mv is really missing. The MSI softwares full of bugs. slow, difficult and not efficient. Sometimes I use the Control Center to control the fans, but it is painfully slow, and does not always start, so I have to terminate the process and start again, wait 20 seconds to find out it starts or not.

bad:- the boot priority did not automatically boot my OS on my SSD which was slightly annoying. If i weren't techy this would cause issue.- again the boot priority list only showed 2 of my hard drives. I have 5 in total plugged in. my OS ssd was not showing up in the boot priority list which means I would be unable to boot from that drive normal forever. I had to manually switch my ssd and hard drive sata cables so that my OS SSD was in SATA port 1. again something that would baffle almost every person and would annoy the SH*T out of people. I don't understand why it isn't standard for a motherboard to search for the drive with an OS on it and boot from it.good:the bios is super responsive with no lag at all.the bios has a crap load of options you can change.it's actually crazy, i've never seen this many options in a bios before.the vcore number can be manually changed to any number you want which is not standard in all motherboards. it overrides the stupid pre overclocking voltage thing is does which goes way over what a good voltage is and fluctuates a lot. No you set it to the number you want and it stays almost completely at that number which is great.the bios booted up on the correct monitor which is a plusthe text on my 1440p monitor wasn't scaled incorrectly, usually the scaling makes everything harder to read as they are smaller, not in this case.generally a good motherboard so far. also has a cmos reset button which was a nice surprise. you don't usually see that unless you buy a very expensive motherboard.

Can't really speak to the stability of this board yet as it's only up and running a few days, but it's got plenty of features that will ably underpin any modern gaming/general purpose PC.However there is one caveat and it is that many of the software features of the board seem to be disabled by default in the BIOS. For example, I couldn't get the machine to wake from sleep by pressing the keyboard, and found out through some googling that these boards disallow USB input as a wake timer by default. I couldn't get Hyper-V machines to run. I found out that this was because SVM, which is AMD's virtualisation technology, was disabled by default. It's a board that's conservatively configured out of the factory.Just something to consider when you're setting up a machine that has this installed.Other than that, no complaints so far.

I've not built a new machine for some years, so I was a little nervous and did a *lot* of research before deciding on this board. Glad I did - the manuals were informative and accurate, the board itself was easy to install. Ryzen7 2700X worked with no trouble, no need for any BIOS updates, just working straight out of the box.For me disk I/O is key and I've been very impressed with the performance of this board (coupled with Samsung EVO970) and I'm pleased that there's even a second M.2 slot (albeit I believe that is reduced capability). Not having used an MSI board before, I was also pleasantly surprised with the amount of supporting software - now just wish I'd bought a case with a window soI could appreciate Mystic Light! No hesitation in recommending this board to anyone looking for an AM4 type.

So far so good! Had issues with the first build with no display and not booting, turned out to be a faulty ram module.Board doesn't come with a built in speaker so there's no 'beeps' to help diagnose troubleshooting. I'd like more than 4 fan headers, but I guess it's decent for the price. The software that comes with the board is a nice feature and Nahimic audio is absolutely outstanding, it can make even an average pair of speakers sound absolutely outstanding. The board has pretty lights that can be edited to your preference with the MysticLight software. Compatible with Ryzen 7 2700x out of the box, no bios update needed.

Bought to use with a 2600x, and since I had no intention of manual overclocking, the lack of offset voltage settings was not a problem. The automatic ryzen clock still works great, and shifts between 2-3GHz when idle, up to 4.3GHz under load. The motherboard looks great, and I had no issues with setting everything up. The BIOS is a little bit awkward to navigate though, but since my last MB was also made by MSI, I was already used to it.

This motherboard is one that I looked at purchasing to upgrade my computer. I've noticed an improvement but I also had a new processor and other components, so all in all the improved performance is from a combination of them. Ensure that you have the correct case size for the motherboard as I thought I did but in the end, I had to purchase a new one.

Overclocked my Ryzen 5 2600x easily, has a lot of nice inbuilt features and looks nice to boot.Only downside is some of the app managers apps aren't what some people would want, but you have full control over what you want to install so can't complain

Very good motherboard, plugged everything in and it worked first time.MSI Seems to have a lot more proven memory compatibility listed than it's competitors board which is why I chose this board over others.

Perfect motherboard, good price and has all the needs for a high end gaming computer. Supports the Ryzen 7 2700x cpu I bought and supports 2 m.2 storage devices which I wasn’t aware of so that’s a bonus

Love this board. Well worth the money I paid, plenty of fan headers. Works well with my 2600x....ready and waiting for the new processor the 3600 or 3600x when I can afford it.
