I purchased this WebCam because my existing one ( a budget priced device) stopped working .I decided to go for this HD video device to help with picture quality when using a well known videocall site to contact my relatives in Australia.Its very easy to install - literally just five minutes!The instructions supplied are very simple to follow , even for us "older folks".The picture quality is far superior to the budget priced webcam I had previously.It also has some useful additional features which are very simple to navigate.If you need a good quality webcam to use on video calls this is one I would recommend.

I ordered this camera as I wanted to talk on skype with friends and family that live abroad. I am useless when it comes to electronics so I was trying to find an affordable camera that would have clear picture and good sound quality as I didn't want to purchase a separate microphone.After reading the reviews I decided to go for this one and I was not disappointed. Picture is very clear and the sound is very good. I had cheaper cameras in the past but I find this one much better, it 's worth the extra money. I recommended it to my parents and they are getting one as well now!

having family over in Canada, i considered buying a WebCam to compliment my Skype system.The Microsoft HD-3000 Webcam is so simple to set up, and via Skype i can hold crystal clear conversations with my Brother and family over in Canada, the Microsoft HD-3000 Webcam is so easy to install, however as my PC is an older version I can not connect the WebCam video system via Skype due to the PC drivers being incompatible, the actual WebCam video test is perfect, so for people with modern Wireless PC systems this Microsoft HD-3000 WebCam is ideal and for the price a perfect buy

the microphones and image quality on my last two cheap webcam's were awful, I had to get really close up for my friends to hear even though they turned their volume full on. After reading reviews of many webcam's I decided to buy the Microsoft HD-3000. What a difference, wide angle can get 2 or 3 people in and still be heard about 10 feet away, both in Australia and the US. I was told the picture quality was very clear, much better than my previous ones. I would definitely recommend this webcam.

As others have said, this webcam worked 'out of the box' with drivers already installed/available in Windows Operating System. However, to adjust the camera's various settings, you will need the software. If you (like me) have Windows 8.1, I suggest you download the Windows 7 software! I downloaded the Win 8.1 version and got no software with it - just up to date drivers. I tried the Win 7 version and Hey Presto! I got the software so that I could adjust the camera settings. Just so you know..

On opening the oversized box I was surprised by how small the CAM actually was! I went to plug it into my computer and the lead was no where near long enough. In fairness my computer and screen are far apart. Luckily I keep a USB extension cable to hand precisely for this reason. Literally Plug-and-Play with Windows 10. The picture was bright and clear with a good angle of view. Not much in the way of customisation but I don’t need any great level of control. Perfectly good for the price.

This webcam seems to be a good value product with just the features that you actually need. It is 'plug and play' but initially I had problems with the picture flickering and breaking up. The flicker setting had to be changed to 50Hz, the frequency of UK power, to stop interference from lights and other electrical equipment. The picture break-up problem was eventually solved by using an orange 'always on' USB port rather than black, blue, USB hub or ports on the front of the computer tower.

If, like me, you find it produces a horrible whine when you test the mic, try choosing a different sampling rate. I found that only 22,050Hz was reasonably free of whine. (Go to Windows\Recording Devices\Microsoft LifeCam\Properties\Advanced\ Default format\AM Quality.Picture resolution excellent but because it's wide angle it gets a lot of your background and software can cause the face to be overexposed. If so, put a light on your background (but not one that shines into the camera!)

Easy to use-plug and play. Great improvement on the built in cam on my laptop,picture quality wise.The cable is long enough to position it off the laptop. This makes it great for use as a stills camera for web selling and for calls to friends and family on skype. The sound quality is great from such a small pick up mic.Its microsoft so you know it will work and the build quality is good. Not the most expensive cam on the market but it does suit my needs. Highly recommend this product.

My laptop inbuilt camera won't work with Windows ten, this solved the problem, truly plug and play.For the price I can't fault it. If you can get over the styling that is. The clamp come stand is good for every surface gear delays of angle or depth but then it's not great and any of them, when this little boxy camera wobbles, it wobbles. So although maybe not the best at travelling, it's a great stay at home camera and is well priced for the ease of use and the features it offers.

My in-built webcam only worked on and off, so I decided to get a new one. This webcam was very easy to set up and was easy to locate on the computer to begin using it. The picture quality is very good, except it's a bit annoying when it's quite late as it casts a bit of a blue light across your face (but not enough to stop me using it!) Not sure if the accompanying software works on my Windows 10 laptop, but I'm not in need of that, and this webcam does the job very well by itself.

Very good picture quality. Excellent mic range - e.g. HEY CORTANA works well even at a distance away from your computer. Instant plug and play on Windows 10, so don't worry about downloadable Win10 drivers, if you need to change the flicker reduction to best suit your room lighting, just open the Camera App in Windows 10 and then go to settings and you can select 50Hz - 60Hz and other options. Overall I would recommend this product which works perfectly on my Windows 10 systems.

Very nice little camera, with better than average picture, video and sound quality. The flexible stand/clip is very handy, it clips onto almost everything or it can be freestanding as well. A few minor issues though:- In HD mode it will record only approx 15 frames per second, not 25 or 30.- In brightly lit rooms the light areas are burnt-in, i.e. too light- There aren't too many manual controls in the software.Otherwise it is excellent, especially for this sort of money.

I got this to use for a video job interview as the built in camera on my aging Sony VAIO with Windows 7 Home Premium was old-school 4:3 letterbox format, and I wanted one in HD wide-screen for the interview. This camera was easy to use - just plug and play - and had very good image quality. I already had a Logitech usb headset so I used that for the sound recording, so I can't comment on the quality of the built in mic on the camera, but the image quality was really good.

I purchased this web cam to do live streams with face cam and also to make skype calls to friends and family. I am very impressed with the quality of this web cam.The smooth 30fps @ 720p really makes a difference when talking to friends on skype, you don't have that annoying low frame stuttering. You can also take control of the Pan, Tilt, Zoom & other advanced options such as White Balance & Saturation. You can also face morph for when you want to look like an alien.
