Yep, no problems here - a classic childhood toy with endless appeal and durability. The peg fit is actually quite reasonable, being neither too loose that they pose no challenge remove / hammer in, nor too firm to allow this to happen. I seem to remember as a child using this toy in conjunction with building blocks to help create some pretty nifty little fortresses for my army men - ahhhh the memories! I suppose I should let my daughter use them occasionally! In summary:Positives:+ Durable+ Attractive and durable paint+ Good fitNegatives:- Some of our pegs are slightly mishapen at the ends - does not affect their fit into the holes thoughOverall, I recommend this product - great for improving co-ordination and general consruction /demolition projects, and I therefore award it 5 stars.

It's a nice Pound-A-Peg with vivid colors and as described! The wood made of seems really good quality and i mention this because I bought other wooden toys for my boy but in the end you get what you pay! I bought this in a discount price so I am really pleased! The last thing that i want to mention is that the colors so far don't seem to fade of or to get any kind of decaying by the abuse that my son does to the toy :D! He doesn't play it normally but that doesn't have to do anything with the toy( he just pushes with his hand the pegs and not pounding them :)). I am really pleased by this product! The packaging wasn't something nice. It was not for example inside a box, but only with a plastic cover. So if you want to gift it, you will have to do the job! :)That's the only negative for me..

This is a terrific toy. I was concerned that as it was so cheap, the quality wouldn't be as good, but it is excellent quality, really sturdy. My one-year-old boy is improving his hand-eye skills as he holds the hammer, and although he won't spend a lot of time on it, he does enjoy it. It is about the right size, as it is easy for him to hold. His 3-year-old friend had great fun bashing the pegs down and pushing them down as well, so I can see that this toy will have some longevity!

This toy was difficult to purchase in a local toy shop. I found it online and ordered it but did not think it would be that good as the price was so cheap!I was extremely surprised and happy with the product. The finish was good and it was such good value for money. In future i will be ordering more of the Melissa & Doug toys for my grandson. If they are all like this one i will not be disappointed!

My 18 month old loves this. It’s simple, it’s brightly coloured & it’s noisy. He loves the hammer a bit too much & I have to hide it after a while or everything & everyone, including himself, is getting whacked, the dog is frightened stiff of it & a few of my dining chairs have quite hefty little Dints in. It can be a little lethal. Keeps him occupied though if he plays properly with it

My own children had hours of fun playing with this, so I didn’t hesitate to order when the time came around again got my first grand child. On first glance, it looks sounds and feels every inch a winner, once again!. Love the different coloured painted pegs and I’ve already discovered one can just as easily use them for separate play as well. Great value. Thanks

4* not 5 as only given to her last week so can't comment on how durable it is but it was her favourite toy on her 1st birthday. She quickly got the hang of what she needed to do, concern is the damage she can do with the hard hammer but by the end of the day she seemed to understand where she was supposed to use it, and where not.

Loved the product generally, but was disappointed that some of the pegs just fell through the holes or could be pushed down with baby fingers. Similar products we've had in the past required some tapping to push the pegs through and that is what I had hoped for. Otherwise it seemed well made.

My son has Autism and on advice from his Occupational Therapist this toy helps my son in many ways. To using appropiate muscle co-ordination, colour recognition and control. This toy is very durable as my son is quite strong handed. So overall my son loves it and I'm very happy with purchase.

Having have not seen this product in many shops were unable to find the right one until we saw this on Amazon, it is really well made and a good price, Tesco had a plastic one but nowhere nearly as good and for the same price, so very pleased with it and a quick delivery.

Got this for my cousins little son and he loves it. The colourful pegs have been good to teach him colours. Placing the pegs in the holes and aiming the hammer in the right place have been good for hand eye co-ordination as well as being fun!

Good fun. But the only frustrating bit is that the pegs don’t sit flush when hammered down, despite much hammering!! They are still sticking up a bit. This frustrated my son as the one in Nursery has pegs that sit flush when hammered.

Arrived promptly and well packaged. This is a favourite toy at the moment - in addition to beating the hell out of the pegs our grandson also just loves taking the pegs out and replacing them. A very good quality toy well made

My son love this toy! Not just the hammering part, but also the part where he can pull out the sticks. They are all over the floor, but he know where they belong. He is 19 months and he still hammers away on it.

Teaches colours and helps with hand eye coordination. All the kids love this toy but I find after they finish banging the pegs they do tend to turn the mallet on each other. But a great toy for a boy or a girl.
