Can understand people being disappointed with the brightness of this torch, but I use it when patrolling the garden at night to clean up after the dogs so is fine for me.Only downside is the 5 huge batteries needed, which actually in the end turns out to be a plus side as it makes the torch feel sturdy and weighty. Perfect to keep down by my bedside in case I get burgled again to give the scumbags a taste of their own medicine...and I'm not talking about illuminating their path out the house...Great Maglite product as ever- just don't expect Close Encounters of the Third Kind though.

Used a Maglite 4 D cell torch 20 years ago as a police officer, this latest 5 D cell torch is even better, a fantastic piece of equipment. The brightness, build quality and reliability is unsurpassed. Love the ability to twist head section from very powerful spot beam to flood light. Genuinely knocks into a hat every other torch I've ever had. Maglite is recognised as the best personal torch in the world, and deservedly so.

Excellent quality torch. I purchased this in Feb. 18 and noticed that they've upgraded the Maglite font and logo on the bezel (see attached pic). At first I thought maybe it was a copy, so contacted maglite who confirmed the change. Overall, very pleased.

Not as bright as newer flash lights but awesome build quality and looks badass. The 5-cell is a good length but if I were to do it again I'd probably go for the 6-cell as the 5-cell still feels a bit short for defense purposes.

I bought 3 of these, one for myself and two as gifts. I had one in the past and these are probably the most sturdy. The light is nicely adjustable and heavy enough to be used as self defense. I keep mine under the bed.

Good to walk with in the dark with it resting on your shoulder, so you are ready to SMACK in case of an attack (is also quite heavy)!!! :D The very bright light will also blind someone if necessary.

Bummed as I looked up LED light and this popped up. So kinda thought I ordered an LED one.Got as gift for girlfriend and she likes it. So 5/5. Has about 4 hours of use so far with no issues.

This is one excellent flashlight serves dual purpose as a club if needed working nights having deliveries in some areas that aren't secure this is a blessing Thanks Maglight

It had taken a few weeks to be delivered, but when you consider that it was approx. 45% of the UK cost - it was worth waiting for. Would certainly buy again.

Has an excellent long beam. Heavy once the five batteries are in it. My brother loves this flashlight. He keeps it in his truck for any emergencies.

I got this when I took on a security job that doesn't allow us to have weapons. (Oxymoron right?) People tend to give me wide berth now.

Perfect - just as expected. Not as bright as some, but fine for our needs. Good length and weight for a self defense light also.

Perfect for seeing in the dark and yet heavy enough to double as a billy-club. What more could a home owner want?!?

I used one of these when I was a Cop. Every house and car should have one. Its the best heavy duty flashlight made.
