The first of many problems was that It shipped with a european adaptor, which I had to change to a UK version. The plastic screws that you loosen to adjust the lamp were on so tightly that I had to use pliers and risk snapping it to loosen them. After you have chosen a suitable position you then need to use the pliers again to tighten them enough for the lamp to hold its position otherwise it will collapse. Unfortunately even after tightening them to breaking point the lamp is still unstable and wobbly. It is poorly made and the materials feel cheap. I wouldn't recommend this.
