As far as working goes, the light works and works well and the adjustment is easy to do also. There wasn't much assembly to do, but the 2 springs to put on were easy to do and the screw to attach the main arm to base was easy with the provided Allen key (NOTE: be careful tightening up this screw as it can very easily be rounded off as you may well see people saying in other reviews, I didn't round mine off because I saw previous review). As far as looks go, it really is a thing of beauty. If you appreciate good design and like the vintage look then this light will tick the boxes. The colours work in harmony and the braided cable takes it further away from being "just another lamp".

The lamp looks great and functions as expected however the brass grub screws provided are frankly garbage, the thread on these is badly formed one I simply couldn't get to screw in the other one I managed with a lot of care. I was concerned that the thread in the brass might fail. I'm competent at such things many people would seriously struggle. In addition the rod that sits in the base has several o-rings on it which are a tad oversized making it difficult to push in and causing some minor damage to the o-rings. I'm still very pleased with it overall but Anglepoise need to improve their QC if I'd paid the full price I'd have been very unimpressed.

Having lusted after an original Anglepoise for years, having had a beautiful imitation in University days, I took the plunge. In between ordering and delivery I beat myself up over spending so much on just a lamp. But, now it's here and installed, and I'm very happy with it.A bit smaller than I anticipated, and none the worse for that, it went together beautifully. Not sure what the issues that other buyers had with the grub screw (although thanks to them maybe I took good care to align it correctly therefore had no issues).An extravagance? Yes. A thing of beauty? Absolutely. Worth every penny!

I think the brass version of this classic Anglepoise lamp is beautiful and sophisticated. My grandparents had something similar back in the day, so I guess there's a dose of nostalgia for me there too.The lamp is well made, easy to use and and the LED build that comes as standard is very bright.It's very expensive at full price but if one keeps an eye out for deals then it comes up under £100 every now and then.

Love it love it! Looks amazing. Hopefully it lasts. Will update my review after 6 months to provide a better review of the qualityI wasn't too impressed this was made in China but we shall see how the quality is after some time. Right now I don't have a problem with the lamp and love itThe Elephant grey is not a dark grey so it's perfect for me as I was after a medium blueish grey to match with the room paints.

This is a stunning piece of engineering, at the slightest touch the arm and lamp head move and hold position perfectly. The light is unobtrusive but gives a perfect light for reading, playing games, arts and crafts and also giving an ambient light to a living room. The light was very easy to assemble and adjust. It's a wonderful purchase and given the use we get out of it, it's definitely worth every penny.

I love this lamp. Not only does it look incredibly stylish but it gives a bright and warm light, and is very responsive to the position in which it is angled. Most other types of lamp similar to this that I've had do not seem to hold their position, but this does. I've been using it for about a month now, and am still delighted every time I switch it on. Such a good purchase!

Don't think twice about buying this lamp, especially if you can get it at a discount. It's like having a hugely functional piece of art on your desk, beautifully made, will almost certainly last a lifetime and works brilliantly as a lamp. And a British company made it !!! What's not to like. Get one, you won't regret it

If you're willing to spend £200+ on a desk lamp then you probably already know the history behind them.Quality is great and they really are designed to last a lifetime. Spend 5 minutes setting it up correctly with the tools provided in the box.Look for Amazon deals when they can be had for half price and go mad.

I bought it as a lamp for my son. The colour is perfect as it matches the grey on his walls. Was easy to put together etc. I got it at the incredible price of£99 in Amazon's sale. Not sure it would be worth the full RRP of £250 but anywhere in-between still good value. Hopefully my son does his homework now?!

Top class elephant grey brass lamp. Very pretty. Solid as rock. Hope to last a lifetime. . Note that on assembly, base to arm was not easy. I twisted and pushed. But the 3 o-rings were chewed up. Lady from Anglepoise kindly sent me replacement o rings. Will try just pushing down with firm force - no twisting.

Excellent quality,quality materials,lamp is painted very well,holds,its poise,well.does not drop,I bought 2 both excellent,high quality materials,used,well pack,and easy instruction.10 out of 10.also also excellent next day delivery as usually from Amazon prime,would recommend this anglepoise lamp.

I was lucky enough to buy mine for £89.99 from Amazon, brand new, not a Warehouse deal. It is rarely available at this low price, but it has been before and probably will be again, so if you dont need it immediately sat up a price-watch using the website named after three ships of the desert...

Nice colours available, decided to avoid the conventional colours. Suprised at how heavy it was, this makes it good in retaining its overal balance. Its more expensive than the many copies which yoi can find in places like Ikea, but i happened to come across this whilst it was discounted.

I already had one so this was my second. These lamps are a design classic and look good in any environment. They don't ever look outdated. This is the kind of thing you buy once and it lasts a lifetime. The price was amazing good value too - a huge discount.
