Excellent product.Came in mint condition factory seal tape on box.Battery life is good depending on much power light output you use haven't tested to see how long it lasts don't care about that it's not mains power.Brightness is excellent white pure light.Tilting is excellent. Not that heavy. The best thing is you can fit lithium battery and AAA.The best thing I tested it myself I was able to adjust the light dimmable function turning wheel I got 58 clicks on the wheel on the back giving me all incriminate either way in brightness. 58 clicks up to max and 58 down to low. Each click gave me a different adjustment in light output.Thats astonishing brilliant.I feel three clicks from low is brilliant. Also you can use spot and focus set to any position.I'm glad I purchased this one.I used some maths if it's survival you use it for.The manufacturer said 30hours max on low power. So use the lithium first then use 4aaa carry a few packets of 4aaa it will save your life in darkness for few days or a week depending on how many you carry. AAA are small so won't take up too much space in back pack or pocket.

I have previously owned the following headtorchesPetzl Myo XP (80 Lumens claimed)Alpkit Gamma (88 Lumens claimed)Alpkit Manta (100 Lumens claimed)No-Name Lenser H7 copy (160 Lumens claimed)A no-name 1600 lumen CREE XM-L T6 monster that isn't that feasible for running with which is what I want a headtorch for.I can say therefore that in my frame of reference, the Lenser H7R.2 is an exceptional torch, obviously Lumens claims should be treated with a pinch of salt but the HR7.2 is significantly better than the H7 copy which itself is significantly better than the Petzl and Alpkits. The rechargeable battery takes a while to charge by Micro USB but I like the fact that it uses such a common adapter,in an emergency the rechargeable unit comes out and can be replaced by AAAs instead which is also a nice touch. Initially the size of the battery compartment ws something I noticed but soon forgot about when running. One downside is that the manual is printed in tiny text and I haven't been able to find a (full) manual online.

This is a serious lamp. I'd put it top of the premier league of lamps. The brightness blows away any of the cheap head torches out there. I use it for jogging at night and in spot light mode I noticed cars coming towards me were dipping their headlamps a long way off, i think they thought a motorbike was coming. Its very comfortable to wear and doesn't slip down even without an over the top headband. It came with the battery pack already pretty well charged, it lasted about 7hrs. I've only charged it up once but it's done about eight hours and still ok. One thing I did find distracting was when the battery is getting low it flashes on and off 3 times every minute or so to warn you,in the pitch black this was a strange sensation for my eyes. That is the only negative I can think of though, overall it's a superb lamp. PS: Dont look directley at people with the light on it will seriously dazzle them!

I use this mainly for running in the dark and working in low light. The beam focus is great, allows you to quickly and finely move between wide angle and spot beam with all options in between and I've not found that the adjustment creeps with the vibration of running. The ability to recharge via USB rather than replacing batteries is useful and the dial on the back allows fine adjustment of the brightness with ease. The negative points are certain aspects of the build quality/design. After being dropped a couple of times the latching tab on the battery pack has snapped off, it stays together as the elastic straps also hold it in place, but it's not sealed tightly anymore. The foam pad that contacts your forehead has also peeled off reducing the comfort somewhat.Comparing it to a similar Petzl (the Myo RXP) it has more in the way of features and adjustment, but is not as robust.

I bought the H7R.2 as a replacement for my well-used old LED Lenser which used 3x AAA batteries. The head torch came in a small cardboard box with instructions and charging plug with USB cable. Pleased that they haven't used excessive amounts of packaging and it's recyclable. After an initial charge, I tried the head torch out and was really pleased to find the strap comfortable and secure despite the larger battery pack when compared to my old head torch. For me, the best features are the variable brightness setting as this allows me to conserve battery power when I don't need full brightness, and the USB charging capability as this allows me to recharge the head torch almost anywhere. If thisproves to be as reliable and durable as my previous LED Lenser head torches (and I see no reason why it wouldn't be) then it is definitely a winner.Read full review...

I purchased this Headtorch for work purposes and after 18mths it's worked very well until now. Although the torch and battery pack are still working the charging port has failed due to the contacts inside the charging port breaking away and stuck inside the USB charging cable. I now have to purchase rechargeable batteries. This is the only disappointment I have with this device. My colleagues recently purchased this and after 1 week has had the same failure with the charging port on the battery pack.***UPDATE*** Contacted the supplier about the damage and was given the contact details of the service team. Within a few minutes of explaining the situation to them a warranty form was sent explaining what I needed to do.6-7 days later a brand new H7R.2 headtorch was sent. I highly recommend this torch and manufacter enough. 5star product, 5star service.

I would highly recommend this for working in the motor trade. If you MOT, it gives you both hands free. For working on vehicles when you would normally use and hold a torch this takes away the frustration of not having both hands free and the torch not falling over. I do not use it all the time but it does come in handy. I use to think I'm not wearing that at work but have since moved to a place where everybody uses one. So, no silly remarks. One of the biggest advantages for this would be for the person who works on cars/vehicles at home or on the floor. Working on the floor or in confined spaces and trying to hold a light can be difficult. This is the answer. If you wore it all day,the lower setting would last but on full power which is amazing, better than any torch I have had it is obviously going to lose its charge.

Love this head torch, has great battery life, very bright and is rechargeable. Very versatile, I use it for everything from working in fields at night where you can focus the beam to see far away to working on my car in the dark where you can adjust it to have a soft light you can use at close range. You can use it as a rechargeable torch for take the battery out and use AAA batteries which, although I havent had to do this, could come in handy if you either need to use it for a very long time or are going tk be somewhere where charging isnt an option. I have had this for over a year now, I left it over summer unused and the battery doesnt seam to have suffered at all.I charged it up a week ago and still havent had to recharge it yet.

When I first got this it was a brilliant product I used quite frequently for either working outside in the dark or for walking/hiking and shooting pursuits in the dark. It had initially a good battery life.I then didn't use it for around 4-5 months and charged it up but it only lasted around 15 minutes before it went flat. I have tried recharging the battery several times and now it barely operates for more than 20 seconds which is a shame as a new battery is in the order of around £17-22. I also found that when not in use it can easily be knocked which then turns it on and so quickly drains the battery.I now use AAA rechargeable batteries and remove them when im not using it and it continues to work well.

.I have had this headtorch for 2 years and it has worked well.It is true that you need to read the manual to fully understand some funtionality - like the very long press to Lock/Unlock it but once you know, you know !My only very minor negative against it is that it gives me a headache if I wear it for too long (> 1hr or so) but that's probably true of any device held on your head with an elastic strap. If the strap isn't tight enough then it would fall off so hardly unique to this particular head torch. After buying 4 or 5 cheaper head torches that didn't last or had poor battery life, this is a good example of "You get what you pay for".I like it and recommend it..

Brilliant! Living off-grid in a little caravan, I have used it every day for months now. It is ultra-reliable, charges so easily and gives a fantastic light, which is consistent for hours. I'm getting a little bit worried about the elastic, that's all. But I can't imagine finding a better item for the price. I still haven't figured out all the various settings, which seem to be spoiling one for choice, and which I seem to accidentally alter sometimes, but it still doesn't matter.UPDATE It's been brilliant, since 2016, until now. The surround of the micro-USB charging socket has now spilt and battery no longer charges. And there is no option to contact the seller.

Quality product, good price & delivery. If you're in the market for a head torch and you can afford better than the £2.99 one you can get from the garage, like a lad called Damo that I know, that eats triple A's like a Range Rover drinks super unleaded then you need to get one of these. Unless you like false economies, like Damo, then go for the one from the garage that's probably breaks when you take it out of the box. 10/10.I use mine for close inspection & confined space access work on power stations and the like and a decent head torch is a must. Happy see where you're going in the dark if you're not tight.

I work in all weathers on the rail too. This is perfect and there is a reason these torches are issued to Network Rail. There is a little release tab for the battery in the casing, I have found if left out this will disrupt the water seal for the battery case. Tip!...Tuck this in ? no water from 2 heavy rain nights has touched my battery. Also seen comments about turning on by accident. The instructions show how to lock so this doesn't happen. Overall worth every penny. I have also sold this like a salesman to one of the lads in my gang so I will purchase again in the next couple of days. ?? Excellent.

So I've used this a few times now and so far I'm pleased with how it works. The light adjusts easily with the dial on the back. The dial also doubles as a red light for if your walking in a group. The button on the light itself when held down goes to boost mode. Tho it takes a few seconds to do so.The light is very good and ok to adjust seems to get stuck sometimes when going back to wide been. One of the things to watch is it is slow to charge. I have a car USB charger and had it plugged in all day. Not sure how long it will last but I have used it alot and still going after one charge.

Fantastic headlight for when i'm running at night and also on my bike. Great field of light with adjustable beam intensity. Rechargeable battery charges from usb ports. You can also use AAA batteries if you lose power mid run. Fits well, not too heavy and doesn't slip. Has a small light on the back that can be green, red or blinking red. Already paid for itself due to not tripping over when trail running through forests at night. Also used many times when out walking or maintenance at home - plumbing under sink etc or anytime you need to hold 3 things with two hands and need a torch!
