So I needed a new Penlight for my tool kit, lots of choices out there so check list - LED (Tick), Batteries included (Tick), Not to expensive (Tick), good quality (Tick). List done, trawl the list produced and BINGO the Ledlenser P4 steps into the limelight. It came on time and that's where I start to have issues. Not with the Torch (excellent, powerful, lightweight, simple) it even came with additional spare AAA batteries a belt pouch and a strap. Good Value even if you don't need or use the strap or pouch. However, my issue is with the packaging! As a hater of over packaging and waste this pushed ALL of my buttons, the layered Blister pack (Card-Plastic-plastic Card)

I properly used the Led Lenser P4BM Pen Torch last weekend for the first time. I participated in a 2 day airsoft game and the torch came very handy during the night when w had to read maps, instructions or simply look in the backpack for snacks.Firstly, I like how this torch fits onto my chest rig molle. There is a very nice, strong pocket clip that held the torch nicely in place during the two days of running and crawling without me worrying about it falling.The torch is built from high quality aluminium that makes it very rugged. The surface of the torch is textured for extra grip and the pack included a wrist strap to avoid loosing it in case it was dropped.The light is not extremely bright but considering the intended use for the torch it's more than adequate.

This works well, has a good quality light & nice simple adjustment. I use it for looking at living tissues.Not sure if the blue moon thing is just a gimmick, but if it works I don't mind.This was a really good value pack (imho):-It came with 2 sets of batteries- 1 already in the torch as it was a 'test-it pack', plus a spare set. Due to it coming from a ginormous warehouse (& not a high street shop where kids will play with it), I presume that it has not been tested much, so both sets of batteries should be full!-mini belt holster-soft cord lanyard-pocket clip-keyring-mini carabiner-that should cover most ways that people wish to use it!It also has 2 flattened areas on the barrell,

Certainly a well made torch, supplied with two sets of batteries and useful accessories. The fancy retail packaging must be costing the buyer though. A decent level of brightness but not outstanding - but I expect battery life to be good.Pretty good on the flood setting, with a nice even light and a sharp spotlight type pattern. The blue edging is nice enough but you suspect its a by-product of the LED and lens, explained away by some creative marketing.The disappointment is the spot setting. The beam takes on a nasty looking yellowish splodge, with not much of a tighter pattern. Plus, unlike old style Maglites or some LED makes, the beam doesn't get brighter on the spot setting.

A nice slimline well constructed torch. The beam is very bright and adjustable. I use mine on night shift for checking on occupants in cells and find that it more than adequately illuminates the areas into which I check. The torch is lightweight and not as bulky as the mag lite that I previously used. As it comes with a cordura pouch and a pen clip, it gives me a couple of options on how to carry it. An added bonus is the 7 year warranty that Lenser give to it once registered.All in all a very nice bit of kit.

I am a helicopter pilot, who living in Scotland, required to inspect the aircraft in the dark. This torch has a clear white beam and when set to the most focussed mode is good enough for me to see detail 6m above me. It fits nicely into a pen pocket and has had a few drops, which it has survived. The battery life is incredible. I actually bought another one for home. Yes you can get some VERY cheap LED torches (I have in the past) But sometimes it IS worth paying a bit more for something.

I have a Couple lenser brand, especially like the M7, very powerful torch. However wanted something lightweight for the car or the office. P4 was just the job.I have to admit, i do not see much difference between flood and spot, but the spot is fine for the use around the home or car. Good price and appears well made. Bonus as well, it comes with batteries and spare batteries, pouch and a wrist strap, so for the price i think its a good deal.

I originally thought it was a bit expensive compared to similar LED lensers. However, I found that the torch can produce an extremely uniform field of light, that makes it easier to see details than with any other torch I have tried. It was useful when I brought it with me on a city vacation and needed additional light to see details in old buildings. Also for reading in bed it is better than an ordinary flashlight.

Bought this for my other half who works offshore. He needs it for inspecting different cables & things, it provided a sharp working light and it also shines quite a distance, so you can see things quite detailed, far away from you. It's also a handy wee touch around the house as it's so bright! It feels strong and durable. Comes with a little carry case, which is handy, you can have it on your belt or boiler suit.

so now i finally agree, maglites are 1980s technology. ledlenser is the way forwards. full stop. nice touch for me with this smaller model is that the button has to be pushed in deeper than the rim it sits on at the end, meaning it wont be accidentally switched on.note on this smaller size there is just on and off, not the low-consumption setting as found on bigger models.

Use pen torches all the time in my job, either for neuro observations or simply lighting the way back from the toilet for patients. This is the only one that takes the battering I give things! Much better than a mag light. So happy Infact that I am considering getting a couple for my colleagues for Xmas! I'm fed up with them borrowing mine!

This has to be the best torch in this size format I have seen so far. The beam is powerful and precise. There are many "P4" etc fakes on the market, some sold via Amazon, and I bought one of those very recently which turned out to be a piece of junk. This one is the real thing. I also have the single-AAA version which is similarly good.

This torch is very bright, so bright intact that it is not suitable for what I wanted. I bought it to use during ophthalmolical exams to check PLR but packaging explicitly states it should not be used for this purpose. It is incredibly bright and produces high intensity blue light which would be damaging if shone directly into the eye.

This is the second one of these I have bought, the first one having been a spectacular success. Both were bought as replacement for much more expensive (and very well known) mini-torches which reposed on either side of the bed for use during the night. We are both of the opinion that this torch is better than the more expensive one.

I have had one of these torches for a couple of years and my wife liked it so much that she wanted one. The first torch was returned after problems with the on/off button but a replacement was sent very quickly and no problems with it (so far). This torch is light, compact and very powerful for its size. I highly recommend it.
