I bought this to replace an old led lenser head torch and opted for rechargeable as I was sick of putting batteres in the old one. It's not cheap but it is a good bit of kit, it feels like a premium product when you get it out of the box. Recharging is via a standard micro USB cable (supplied in box with USB mains adaptor but will work with any) so you can charge at home or in the car if you have a USB cigar lighter adaptor. The initial set up was not intutive. There are a couple of dfferent modes depending on how you want the brightness to be controlled and the process to switch between them involves pressing certain buttons many times, it's not hard but you will never be able to remember how to do it without getting the instructions back out again.Thankfully for me it was a one off experience. The battery case will accept the supplied rechargeable battery or normal AAs (maybe AAAs, not sure as never used them) so if it runs out of charge you aren't stuck in the dark with a useless torch. On max brightness I get maybe 1.5 hours of use per charge, you can extend this considerably by turning it down as it really is very bright. The only negative for me is the control box is fixed rght at the back of your head, you can't adjust it to one side at all. I'm a mechanic and often use this while laying under a car and so the box hits the floor all the time and presses the main button which sits pround on the box.Pressing the button on the battery box turns on the rear red LED. It has 3 modes; on, off and flash. The problem is it stays on even when you turn the main torch off, so I have occasionally switched it on by accident and not noticed and then put the torch away only to find the battery run down when I next come to use it.Pleased with it on the whole though, would buy again.

I’m now on my second headtorch after the first one was stolen.I had the regular version first (the non rechargeable version) but got tired of paying for batteries and eventually the power line from the battery case to the lamp failed, so upgraded to this rechargeable one...And just over 12 months of buying it, I’m now having issues with the on and off switch...Hoping to be able to get a replacement or at least repaired! ?So that’s out the way, other than being a bit bulky, which takes some getting used to. This headtorch is absolute beast, I’m a keen festival goer, angler and cyclist... so this comes into its own quite often, the “lighthouse” of all headtorches as my friends say.The battery life is impressive, the variabness of the lamp, from minimal light, to aircraft landing light. Clean and clear variable focus...Functionality to become a floodlight essentiallay by being able to remove the lamp from the straps to attach to a pole and use a pressure click button along the power line is a nice feature.Being able to use regular AA batteries if the rechargeable one dies is always handy too ? prob make things a little heavier though.Doesn’t seem to mind getting wet either, from rain anyway... I’ve not tried swimming with it! Lol!Oh, one last thing, whenever I’m out on my bike at night and come across people working (road works and recently council workers doing the Xmas lights), I’ve lit them up in comparison to what they use... the 1000lm is real ??? haha!Think that’s about it, always loved LED lensor stuff and always will! Just hope I’ve been unlucky with the faults over time...

My initial impressions are that this is an extremely powerful and well made lamp.Out of the box, it is quickly apparent that this is constructed to the highest standard - although it is plastic, it feels very strong and has a good weight (isn't too heavy, but doesn't feel cheap either). It has some nice features: it includes a rechargeable battery and charger, although it will recharge from any USB port, it has an extra strap over the top of your head to hold it firmly in place, and the battery back can be removed and put on your belt (an extension cable is included). The lamp itself is fully adjustable - it will tilt downwards 90 degrees, and it has an adjustable beam (from flood to zoom),The most noticeable feature of this lamp is how powerful it is - at full power it is exceptionally bright (do not look into the beam!) and I can't think of any situation where you would need anything brighter. However, there is a big downside - the instructions are shocking! The included diagrams will frustrate and confuse you, and from what I can work out are misleading at best, and in places wrong. That said, I was able to locate the full manual online (with the help of Google - the included QR code which I assume is meant to link to the manual is a dead link!) - with the help of the manual all became very clear very quickly.Although the item itself is clearly a 5 star product, the woeful instructions make it barely a 4 star!

One of the best lights on a headlamp! Although there are some issues, when looking for animals and hiking I've found brightness (lumens), number of different modes, and the ability to focus light are key!Comparison vs. Princeton Tec Apex:Light:+ LED lenser's is brighter and has the ability to focus to a more narrow, concentrated beam of light. These features are what make it one of the best headlamps.Modes:+ Both LED Lenser and Princeton Tec models have enough light modes for any situation. In some cases you won't want the light at maximum brightness whether it is to save battery or to take pictures without brightening things up too much.Construction:- Princeton Tec is by far the more rugged of the two.It is waterproof and much more solidly constructed. LED Lenser's is made of cheaper plastic and materials.- LED Lensers button placement is a bit annoying. There's a big, easy to push, button on the back that invariably is TOO EASY to push and ALMOST ALWAYS gets pushed while travelling. It doesn't turn the headlamp on but turns on a small red light that drains the battery over time. Not something you want to figure out when you need light. This is the biggest downfall of this light.UPDATE: light started to malfunction, seems to be faulty cable connection.

The battery pack can be either worn on head or kept in your shirt or trouser pocket. Exceptionally good bright light. The light and battery when worn on head is quite balanced . I use it for my surgeries and one charge lasts more than four hours if max power is avoided. Even then the light is so bright that it will put my led operating light to shame. Has been using it for more than a month and I am satisfied with the product. The light can be tilted through 3 different positions which snaps in place and stays put. Only disadvantage is that I find it accidentally getting into operation mode while transporting. After one year still going strong as if its new.The elastics are little worn because of continued usage.

This headtorch is excellent on my night shifts doing aircraft maintenance. It is powerful enough to even do my walk around aircraft checks and I’m sure it is more powerful than the 3 D cell lender torches we also have. The dimmest setting is good enough for close up engine or airframe work and it’s good to be able to adjust the brightness to save on battery life. Super bright is very bright but I haven’t needed to use it yet!I also like the fact it can take 3 battery types so if the rechargeable runs out you can whack some AA’s in instead. My only gripe is the rear light adjuster turns on if you put your head on the van headrest!

Very quick delivery - as now expected on standard post. The light is excellent - once you have mastered focusing the lens.Spot is very distant and close provides excellent viewing. The "extra" bright light is amazing!Ability to angle the light down.Very light while worn on head, hardly noticed while walking or biking, the straps are highly adjustable and soft. As is also clipped to belt or rucksack.Charging time is very good - be patient!Capacity for batteries as spares. My only niggle (hence four stars) is that the rear red light, excellent as a safety feature, can be accidentally turned on - push the light to turn on/off.

Bought this product for general use ie work, walking in dark, cycling and reading. It is a top end product well made, lots of well controlled lumens and comfortable to wear. Extension cable allows battery compartment to be worn on belt reducing head weight - although it is not excessive. It performs brilliantly and includes a self defence very bright flashing mode which could disorientate an attacker. However the included diagramatic use instructions are very poor and I could only fully understand the control system after referring to an excellent utube video. The control system turned out to be easy to use.

The headlamp is awesome. I've tried other headlamps sold in stores but nothing compares to this one. I work on furnaces so I'm always in a basement where the lighting varies from house to house but I don't have to worry anymore. I also use it riding my bike at night. Turns out you really don't look like a dork wearing it either as people ask me to use it all the time. 5 out of 5 stars all day long. I can wake my neighbors up across the street with this thing on turbo mode. Not kidding either about that. Perfect

Led lenser 14R.2 , very powerful, the zoom feature is very handy for spotting buys and moorings in the night on small water craft. The brightness dial lets you adjust for the required amount of light and save batteries.Power it with the easily available 18650 rechargeable batteries (standard in this model) or standard AA.The battery pack can be on the back of your head or on your belt or in a pocket.Recharge from mains or from a 5v 1amp usb power source. The 5-7 year warranty is also a nice advantage.

Excellent bright light and adjust ability.I use this for work in railway tunnels. On the low setting it gives out a great beam of light to work in and lasts easily for a full 12 hr shift.I havent used it on the high for longer than few mins at a time.Very pleased with this.Only down side is that it doesnt charge very well off USB chargers, only with the one that came with it, makes no sense as they are identical output.i would buy again without doubt.

I have had other lower cost LED lensers and the have all been a bit of a compromise, the H14R.2 is so much better than the others it makes them look pretty poor. Much bigger capacity batteries, better LED and a much better headband. Battery life is great even on peak output and it has handled to worst of rain with no problem.Buy this model with confidence but buy the low end models and expect to be compromising.........

This headlamp is well balanced, comfortable to wear, the battery life is great and produces an unbelievable bright white light. It works great when I'm snow blowing because it lights up everything around me and when I working by the road...vehicles can definitely see me. Just a shipping note..since this is coming directly from the manufacturer, don't expect to receive the package in two or three days.

This headlamp has a very bright light also the battery life is great last all night long about 4 to 5 hours. It also has 3 brightness to this light also has a strobe light mode. The only thing I think that they could change would be the battle pack it's a little big but you can put 4 AA batteries into the battery pack when rechargeable battery dies also can put 4 AA rechargeable batteries as well

Only just received quality is good but yet to be tested but only negative and it’s a small one no clear instructions and very short charging cable but not hard to work out and looks good quality also to get the full 7 years warranty you have to register with them if not you only get a 5 year guarantee I’ll have to look online to check how to do this as no indication on poor instruction sheet
