I'm surprised these aren't best sellers or have as many ratings as C.K 492001 Electricians Scissors. To me these seem more capable, have safer insulation, better ergonomics and a holster that you can get them in and out of easily, unlike the too-tight pouch of the CK. Maybe the CKs slightly smaller size is popular, but I suspect they would be annoyingly small for someone with large hands like me (see photo.) Also the CKs are in VDE style yellow and red which might trick some into thinking they are VDE rated?The Knipex holster isn't perfect, it can slide off your belt when removing the scissors. But the knack seems to be pulling outwards as you pull the scissors up,

Over the years I have collected toolboxes full of wire strippers and quite honestly they never quite cut the mustard. So, I decided to go for a top of the range tool. As it worked out, the top rated strippers were all American Southwire SNM1214 or Klein K1412 and only available direct from America, unfortunately, when you add the buying price of around £30 to delivery and import it doubles the overall price. Then I found this Sealey AK3810 wire stripper available in the UK at around £20. for a fantastic sturdy well made pliers. MY genuine advice is go and buy one!

These Knipex Cable Scissors are the best.I have used a few sets of the famous CK Scissors over the years, but as a Knipex pliers and Side Cutters user, I thought I would try these next.Well I am not dissapointed. Im very hsppy with these.They are better.I have used Knipex tools for the past 38 years now. Quality is excellent.Look in my tool bag and you will see lots of Knipex and Wera all the way.I work as an AV Engineer and therfore the Tools earn you money, so I spend out more for top quality. Worth it long term.These are tools for profesional use.

Pros: Been using them extensively on 12AWG multicored cables for the pass month and they still cut like butter. Absolutely no resistance at all.Cons: I find that the handles have grown rather fond to pinching my palms. It wouldve been quite painful if not for it buttery cuts as oppose to snappy ones..And these are however made in Italy if that means anything to anyone and I cant seem to find one thats made in Germany if they even exists..

I first saw these whilst working with an Italian engineer a few months ago and he was so keen on them that I thought I should give them a go. Since getting them I have hardly used anything else for cutting and stripping cables. They cut through 6mm cable as easy as any cutters I have used but are sharp enough and you have enough control to strip fine instrument cables just as easily. They are an absolute must for anyone doing electrical work.

A bit expensive, but Knipex tools are not cheap, and these prove the adage that you get what you pay for. A very sturdy, powerful pair of scissors that have cut everything I have expected them to, without much effort and without losing their edge. Well worth the price and a great addition to my toolkit.

I have had a pair of Knipex wire cutters for many many years and they have remained sharp. So when I wanted a pair of heavy duty scissors and saw these they looked ideal. They are indeed very sharp and the joint is sturdy so they should last a long time.

Good quality Knipex product, that is comfortable to hold/use and is as sharp as you'd hope it would be.I guess the blades could be a bit longer, but then it's for cable so not the usual affair that may be found in the kitchen draw.

Good material, strong, just right for the job. My only and extremely personal desire would be if they were more skinny as blades and handle, but I'm not complaining, just a personal taste!

What did I like? Razor sharp, good pair of snips. What I didn’t like? Cutting my finger with them. Really good pair of snips but a little small for the larger handed chap.

Great product. A bit expensive just for the logo of knipex. But still I'm Happy with it. I use it to cut cables and copex. It cuts cables like butter.

Brilliant ,mind your fingers these would easily do a removal of a digit,but super for intended purpose so far ,6 months on.a

Shears came with belt holder very handy for easy access as used often. Arrived sooner than expected

Really good product, good for SY cables and control cable.Can cut through SY no problem

I'm keeping these in the house, They are too good to take out. they will cut anything.
