As a kitesurfer, I am super impressed with this kite. I bought this as a training kite for friends that wanted to understands the basics of kite-flying before getting their feet wet!Construction: The kite itself is very well made, particularly areas that might be of concern (like the stitching or line attachments). It can be easily flown at full speed into a pebble beach multiple times and show no signs of wear!Flying: The kite flies beautifully in a decent wind. I flew it in 10-15 knots and it would launch easily and the kite would happily sit at the edge of the wind window. Generally, the kite would only really want the sit there between 11-1 positions, but fair enough as it doesn't have a rigid structure! It is then easily manoeuvrable into the wind window in any direction and will still fly after crossing the lines, so you can then uncross them in flight. The flight is very easy to fly and easy to control.Launch/relaunch: Whilst it is possible to launch and relaunch the kite with delicate manoeuvring, it won't relaunch easily. It has no fixed structure when not flying so it is difficult to re-power. It was possible however, but every now and then you need the help of a friend ideally!Lines: There are two sturdy lines that are attached to two independent handles (i.e. no bar). These are comfortable on the risk, and may be possible to affix to a bar if required (I might try this soon to help with teaching!).In summary: Great quality construction, easy to setup and fly, and great fun! Only difficulty is launching/relaunching on your own, but that would be expected for the construction.

We already had a 1.3m kite quite similar to this but my son decided that he'd like a bigger one for his birthday. It's our first kite from HQ and I've been very impressed. It seems very well made, the instructions are clear and easy to understand, (not that you actually need a lot of instruction to use this!), and it all packs away very neatly into the little pouch that it's supplied in which makes it extremely portable. To use, you simply have to get it out of the pouch, attach the 2 lines and you're off. My 10 year old son quickly got the hang of flying this and has had super fun with it. It doesn't need all that much wind at all and - a word of caution to anyone thinking of buying this foryoung kids - it does pull pretty hard if there is a decent amount of wind and on one day my son was struggling to maintain his footing and needed a hand to stay solidly on the ground! The two lines mean that you have a decent amount of control over where this kite goes and it's pretty responsive. All in all, we've thoroughly enjoyed using this kite and it'll get many more outings this Summer I'm sure.

So I am not being paid to write this. I just need to express how great this is. ?Having found an old 'stunt kite' in the garage and spent a couple of hours with my 11-year-old not being able to get it off the ground, decide to buy something new. This is FAB. Very easy to put together (attach the strings, that's it, no rods or anything) and pack away. Super easy to fly, has straps that go around your wrists. It is a fixed-length so only flies at one height. Having crashed it into the beach (we all make mistakes) in a high wind, pretty sturdy. Other comments,My 11-year-old is a big,"built for rugby boy". In a strong wind, this (the 1.8m kite) will pull him forward a little. It will also make me,a 13 stone 'big kid' step forward once in a while. It is just right for him, adding to the excitement, but sometimes we hold on to him!Having been hit by it at full whack, it hurts. So, if you have launched it from your hands, step backwards off the 'flying line', (won't make that mistake again). It looks awesome, have had people come up and ask where we got it from.

Awesome for the beach. Bought the 1.8m. In a mild to moderate wind could be handled easily by my 12 year old. But my younger one felt it was a bit too strong compared to my other HQ rod based sport kit.Lines and setup were familiar and easy to do. Great bag and line carrier.Lines can get twisted and tangled at the kite end as the multiple guy line attachment points get twisted. But easy to untangle with patience.Works very well when dry and a moderate to strong wind. Good speed and good agile control. Stalls in light winds. So for lighter winds will use my rod based sport kite. While safe to crash, getting it wet reduces performance and pockets tend to retain sand.Washed out in a bucket of clean water but still hard to get all the sand out from the end pockets when dry.Price is slightly high but the quality is very good, as is Line attachment and storage packaging.

Bought this for myself after playing with my daughters single line kite, as I wanted something that didnt just hang there.Build is simple enough, but think the instructions could have had a little more detail. Fits into a great little bag.First flights proved just how quick this can be in the power area of the flight curve, we did smash it into the ground on a number of occasions. We feared the worst, but it had no damage at all. Was just what I wanted and I am looking forward to getting skilled with it and cant wait for another good day with a little wind, not that it needs much to fly. Just hoping I have the lines tidy on the winder so it makes for an easy next flight.A great purchase in myopinion.

This is the most incredible kite!!! The first time I took it out with my 10 year old son on a reasonably windy day with a calm inshore breeze. He had great fun digging in as the kite attempted to pull him along the beach. Very easy to self launch from the ground should you crash it as a 10 year old is prone to do! No repeated walking to and from the kite to relaunch it.I then took the kite out on a fiercely windy day. Way too much for a 10 year old to handle when you have very strong winds, suspect the kite would have carried him away - however great fun for Dad, even if it pulled me along the beach at times too. Great work out! Love this kite.

A good kite that I have used plenty and enjoy flying. I don't however think that it is worth the full price. I used to have a similar kite years ago that I spent about £15 on and it was the same size and flew just as well. Also had handles like selotape rolls which made letting it in/out much easier. This kite is fun, and if money is no issue, go for it - you'll have fun. If you have time though, I'd advise shopping around.I have found with friends that it takes maybe half an hour for people to get very comfortable with it. Will need a helper if you've not flown it before. Once comfortable, can go out alone no problem.

Got this kite a few days ago took it out for it's first flight up it went in a 22 mph wind it flew tremendous very responsive and very fast.It put a smile on my face the build QUALITY is fantastic awesome kite for the money tremendous value. The kite is very colorful in mango looks great in the air this kite pulls very hard in this wind i would say this is not a childs kite very powerful in 20+mph winds it packs a hell of a punch after 3 hours of flying this kite i must say this WORTH EVERY PENNY simply a joy to fly this kite.Folds up in seconds and packed away in it's own storage bag can't wait till next flight.Alien

Absolutely brilliant, lots of fun once you master it. nearly hit couple passer-byes on a head while learning to control it. well... you need plenty of space. Best to have someone to help launch, and then keep it in the air without too much manoeuvring if people walk under - as most don't realize this thing can fall from the sky fairly fast and violent. It's holding up well after all the crashing and smashing, no damage so far.on the negative side though... once we got this one, kids lost all interest to conventional kites we had, so they go to the bin now.

Brilliant kite, good once you know what to do. The material quality is amazingly good, it came in high quality packaging. You will need another person to hold it up initially to catch the wind and fly. Best to try it out at wind speed of 8mph if you are new to kite flying. It is good for those aged 12+ as it will tug and pull you along if the wind picks up speed and strength. Fantastic experience you can't go wrong with this kite. It may be pricey compared to other kites but you are paying for the quality. Highly recommend this kite, hours of fun.

Absolute beginner, bought this kite for a laugh and went out with it the day after Storm Doris. The lines were easy to attach and colour coded, it launches itself if you tug the lines the right way, and is quite easy to fly but you need quick reactions... We were doing figure-eights within minutes. It gives you a good tug and could pull over a small child, I got a bit of a workout as well and I'm 6ft. It flies pretty fast so make sure nobody is under it when flying.

Perfect! This is my first decent kite and it is definitely great value for money. This is a very fast kite but my 13 year old son couldn't control it but I had lots of fun lol, I would recommend the brand but maybe get a slower kite for younger children. The kite itself takes off really easily and is very well made. I hit the ground a few times and it made no difference to the kite at all. If you are thinking off buying your first decent kite this is the one to get!

Already have HQ 1.3 m parafoil which is a new pastime for our family and is enjoyed by all.Never flown a kite before and found it relatively straightforward after reading through the extremely informative user guide.Great fun by all so decided to go to the next level by buying the 1.8 m kite.Really powerful and responsive kite in moderate winds and something else when the wind is particularly strong. You can definitely feel the pull from the kite. Awesome!!!

Brought this for my 16 year old and got to say I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the product.Easy to fly and you'll soon be pulling off stunts.Good wrist straps, although they could do with some padding.Lines for the kite are also sturdy and good quality. It's quite a powerful kite in a good wind, so wouldn't recommend for younger children.14+ to adult would be a good guide.Already had lots of fun with this kite, so definitely recommend

17.9.2016

It is AMAZING! The things I love most about this kite is it's sturdy material, I can launch it in a breeze alone with minimal problems, it develops quite a pull which is super fun to handle once winds hit more than around 10mph and the whole kit is just perfect with the lines already in the exact length needed so all you have to do is tie them to the kite and BAM! Done! Worth every penny and I will upgrade to a larger one from HQ soon.
