Bought this preamp to get a mic into my system that runs USB audio out from Laptop to hifi.I have it connected to line level input on my digital audio converter and it works great.Skype will recognize it too.You do need a high impedance mic though,minimum of 10K.Good sound,works straight out of the box.My usage is probably not the usual but I recommend it to anyone needing to boost mic for amplifier input
