I bought this item to replace an aging, though still functioning, Humax Foxsat HD. The setup was straight forward, with only one slight glitch, when connecting to ITV Hub. But after powering down and restarting the Humax and router this problem was solved.An unexpected bonus was the ease with which this box was transformed into a fully featured PVR. Simply by plugging in a 500GB hard disk (recycled from an old Sky box and mounted in an externally powered enclosure) into the USB port, the box assumed all the functions of more expensive models - pausing, rewinding, scheduling recordings, etc. No fiddling required, it just worked.The television guide is excellent and the ability to go back over a number of days and to watch programmes from the beginning,

I suppose everyone is wary when buying used products but this item is in excellent condition and fully meets my expectations. Literally took minutes to set up, connect to my internet, and scan for channels. Although the description did say 200 channels I can only receive 184 (hence 4 stars not 5), however for me this is fine as all the channels I need are there. Great to have internet connectivity as easy to change over to the internet if the satellite signal goes down. I've connected an external hard drive which means I can record programs if I wish, although you can't watch one program and record another but the 7 day scroll back facility makes this irrelevant. I'm able to rewind, fast forward,

I found it very easy to set up the wifi and it responds very well on the 'demand' apps. When I was first setting it up, I was using a small field monitor and I was initially concerned about the picture quality but I was pleasantly surprised when I connected it to my 'TV', which is actually another monitor with a 3.4k resolution.The picture quality is very good on HD but even SD transmissions can be very respectable. I did have a slight problem at one point where it seemed to crash but I think that may have been my wife not being familiar with the remote. It was soon put right by switching off the mains and then powering up again and it's been perfect ever since.

I bought this unit for our caravan. We have the hdr1100s at home with the hard drive built in, and I like the tv guide and ease of use. The on demand is fab for youtube and netflix etc. I was hoping to use a usb external hard drive with this, but after reading other reviews it said it was only compatible with powered drives. I plugged a non powered drive in and the humax found it, formatted it and now works perfectly for recording, pause and rewind. My hard drive is a 2.5” from a laptop and fits into a 2.5” caddy. Hope this clears up a few issues for some people wanting to know if it works with a usb drive, and the answer is yes. Thanks for reading.

I bought a new dish as the old one had become tatty and rusty and, as an afterthought, purchased the Humax Freesat box to replace my very old, cheap box that I have used in the bedroom for more years than I can remember.I am so pleased that I did. I plugged in a spare USB HDD that I had and also downloaded the Freesat App to my phone. The result is that I can see what's on wherever I am - and record any program, or series, if I want (via my phone). The Humax box itself is easy to control via the remote and includes iPlayer and various other "Catchup" apps. And all free-to-receive! I have never and will never pay to watch TV!

Much more compact than its predecessor, the HDR-1100S, although it has a single tuner. Excellent for catch-up, wifi untried as a wired connection is more reliable. User interface intuitive and instruction manual not needed. Attached a Western Digital Elements 500GB SSD (£20) to allow pause live radio and TV, plus scheduled programme recording. Flash drives cannot be used with this STB, despite implications otherwise. The USB port can power this SSD with no separate power supply.

Very economical, especially if it is replacing a subscription service where programmes can be recorded. The only issue I had was with finding the right external hard drive. The website gives advice, however the website did say to use an externally powered drive. Mine didn’t work, however I plugged a portable WD Elements 1TD drive, powered from the unit and it worked straight away.

This is a great product with a good menu & easy to set up. I bought with a WD 1tb hard drive.The downside is you cannot record one channel whilst watching another. I think it’s an important feature & if Humax want to compete with Virgin & Sky need to address.Otherwise a great little box I won’t be sending it back but do regret not doing further research so I knew before hand.

Previously had a hru dig box which frequently hung. Was using a cheap generic sat box, which was fine but you get what you pay for. The quality in this is good, easy to set up, built in WiFi, nice remote. Good interface. You need to add an external hdd if you want to pause and record. Compares very favourably to more expensive boxes. My wife is happy with it. Sums it up

Does what it says on the box, no nonsense set up. Will also allow link to homegroup server on your laptop. With the addition of a cheap external HDD you can record and pause live tv. Humax have come up with a winner that won't become redundant for many years. Many excellent features.

I bought this Humax for the second TV in the house. I has a great reception, great range of programmes. The only thing missing from the higher spec Humax I have in the lounge, is recording and programme stop start and rewind. However, perfect for secondary viewing.

I bought this to use in my motorhome connected it to a glomex 460s auto satellite system, it replaced an old Sky box and its really good, it brings in loads of extra channels that I never got before, it was as new and I cant fault this product.

I have been a Humax fan for years, in fact I have 4 (1 in each room) may not last forever but they last well are easy to set up, use and are of quality, would always put first and highly recommend.

it's a good unit the only drawback is they advertise that you record with a external hard drive but Humax,now admit that it is not able to they should,you can get access to wifi youtube etc.

Even better than my hb-10000s it replaces because I can set and cancel recordings from anywhere - the 1000 had a wifi dongle which worked but the remote recordings feature didn't work.
