At last here is a game that depicts four wheel circuit racing perfectly. This is realism personified.The game is blessed with 3 settings, Arcade, Amatuer and Professional. Each setting is well balanced, allowing the driver to push to the limit with comfort in the easier settings. Up the anti to Professional and full concentration, restraint and sympathy to your vehicle is required.This game allows you to alter what I can only describe as "perception" settings. You can make adjustments to how YOU see and feel the action as the driver. On maximum "movement" setting you find your head bobbing down as the vehicle compresses, and up as it unloads over bumps. You can also lean into the corner,your head tilting and turning to look into the distance. This can be very useful for finding the apex early in order to maximise exit speed. I find this aspect of the game particularly useful to identify any lateral or pitching movements which indicate an impeding locked wheel or slide.There are 3 classes of GTR car. The lower classes making "only" around 300bhp. This is the best place to start in order to learn the circuits. When you move up to the top cars (which produce over 700bhp) things happen very quickly indeed!The realism can be adjusted to suit your skill level. Of particular interest are the traction control and anti-lock brake settings, both required when using the fastest cars (until you master cadence braking and trailing throttle etc).Run on a decent system (x800xt Platinum, 3.2P4, 2 Gig ram) things look and run superb, but for some reason the can be a slight stutter at Spa in the wet past the pits (i'm sure future patches will rectify this). The standard settings look very spartan, but more detail can be dialled in with settings. Although the spectators always look second rate...Finally I would not be doing this masterpiece any justice without mentioning the sound. I have never have a heard a game sound lifelike. I don't mean similar or close, i mean lifelike. The engines are depicted PERFECTLY. 911 GT2's whistle and throb like a turbo charged boxer should. The Ferrari's howl like banshee's. I've seen GT racing at Spa and Silverstone (although I am not a fan, or I wasn't until now)and this really is the real deal. If you enjoy driving games in the slightest you must buy this. For maximum enjoyment start on the middle level and work your way up. Happy motoring!

I purchase every computer racing game that Viva Media produces. The number one reason is they all work on my HP computer system, Windows 7. They also work with my Thrusmaster RGT Force Feedback Racing Steering Wheel, Gear Shift with Three Pedals. A lot of racing games I have purchased will not run on Windows 7, most of the racing steering wheel manufactures have dropped the manufacturing and support for the PC, in favor of the Xbox, PS, etc.. It seems that you have to have Windows XP to run most of the computer racing games and steering wheels.The graphics, detail, sound, car selection, race car selection, race track selection, realism are all excellent. You can learn about how to setup a suspension on a race car,this can take you hours to find the right setup for that fast lap to match a driving style. This seems to be critical for a winning race car, although you can bump and shove your way through the other race cars, if you don't suffer to much damage or a flat tire. Watch out the race car you just passed is not on your tail just waiting for you to make a mistake, to pass you back.The only minor complaint that I have is Viva Media is an European based software company, as such, most of the race tracks are European. I'm a Corvette buff, and GTR has a Corvette option to choose from, plus a couple of US race tracks. This is not a big deal as all of the race tracks are different and interesting, requiring total attention to be competitive. I like the fact that there are many, many, many options to choose from. I often select a European sedan, race it a full speed, run into other cars on the track, spin, crash, start over and start over...My wife taunts me, "If we had another bedroom, you would want a full sized racing game cockpit that you can just jump into." Maybe I should start to build that extra bedroom and order my full sized racing game cockpit. Only wishful thinking, as I'm 73 years young.

I start by giving a thumbs up to Royal Mail....3 days from UK to Romania that's faster than a domestic delivery!!! Excellent!The game is without discussion one of the best driving simulators ever created. Though is created in 2009 its physic are net superior to newest sims, that are more like child games with a lot of "arcade" type views that no one cares about... a lot of special effects of the same kind. When I buy a driving game I want to drive!! And you can very much do so with this one...Lots of cars in the game, very expensive models that almost no one can afford in real life, life-like responses (you must own a racing wheel with force feedback, I recommend any Logitech),accurate almost to the point of getting scared of a crash (slow cars in the game like Lotus Elise are acting identical with the cars i drive on the road: Skoda Rapid, Ford Ka, without the G force of course, and the pot holes in the asphalt... ha ha), what you can say more? If you don't afford expensive racing cars, buy this game and a racing wheel, you will feel a lot better :)

I will keep review short.Graphics are good enough.They work on full with my old Nvidia 900gtx card.It works with my logitech momo racing wheel, was easy to set controls.They also are easy to set up on a joypad(I have a saitek )..I have "XP" and "Win' 7" on different drives and it works perfect on "xp" but sometimes crashes on "win'7".Although a new patch seemed to have fixed this.This is good racing and even though I've only played against AI@s its a good Sim/arcade style game.There is a hell of a lot of game play in this game and even though I have it for years I only play it (as with about 20 others)when I want a break from LFS.It's cheap now and well worth having in your collection.I have no real down side with this game but I have only played about 8-10 hours on it.I rate this game highly and would recommend it.Hope this helps someone to make up their mind :).

Amazing, makes TOCA 2 look silly. One for fans of GP2 GP3, Great cars, amazing engine sounds and the physics unbelieveably realistic. In what other game would the engine revs rise and you can feel the back go light over the bumbs exiting Eau Rouge. Quite hard in full simulation mode if you've not played games like GP3 before, but there is the Arcade and Semi Pro till you get used to it. Loads of interesting cars and very different to drive. Saleen unbelieveably fast, 911 tricky on lift off oversteer but really satisfying if you can balance the throtlle, then theres the Lister Storm, couple of Ferraris all very different to drive. Try the Mossler fairly fast but nicely balanced.Going to buy a feedback wheel now because a joystick too insensitive to balance the car on the limit!

I am really into my racing games and after the inital getting used to it period GTR is a very good game. Arcade and Simulation options for game play are very good, the semi pro I found hard as it seems very slow so you go round corners too quick and spin off. The Simulation has a championship mode which is very good, and the speed is a lot more realistic, making it easier to judge corners.I would recomend this to racing lovers, but you need a joystick or wheel and pedels as keyboard is impossible.Only lost one mark in Overall as you can start at any level, other games I have played you start at the bottom and work your way up, adding bits to your car as you earn money.

This is one of the 1st realistic racing games i bought to use with my microsoft force feedback steering wheel and boy is it good,the graphics are superb and although my pc is not fast it runs as smooth as silk on it,SIMBIN realy know what they are doing when it comes to realistic racing games,using the force feed back steering wheel is just like the real thing [ i would recommend buying one ],i was so impressed with this game that i bought all the other SIMBIN games as well,you have many options in this game like full seaon/single race/class/practice and skill level ect ect,i highly recommend as i do with all the other SIMBIN games that follows.

not for 32 bit windows 7 do not get. if your wondering why i have rated it it is because i have played this game before absolutly love it unfortunitaly there is a protection program on it called Starforce i wont go into details about it but it stops you from using a no disk patch so you cant copy the game off the disk and just play it from your pc starforce ive heard works on vista and 64 bit windows 7 but and eirlier OS models, but it isnt copatable with 32 bit windows 7 withouht a patch which doesnt exist. Take my advice download the demo and try that or alterntly get gtr 2, yes its more expencive but its worth the extra trust me.

Truly a stunning racng experience, especially against other people online - but sadly this is where it falls short. As somebody else mentioned, the multi-player Internet mode has a massive problem with routing which will infuriate many.Much firewall messing around is required to get a game going between my friends and I, and that's not really an acceptable solution. I gave up on waiting for a patch for this issue, but that doesn't stop this from being just about the best racing sim going. If you like your racing games hardcore, and if you have the time to invest - this is a 'must have'.

if you like racing true to life simulators this is a top game for you brillliant graphics the sounds of the engine as you rev up you dodge viper to 8300 revs :) good game , hard but if you like simulators youll get in to and get better at , from me 9.5 out of 10 plus loads of patches available since release , oval racing , newer seasons cars etc , check your specs on comp first as it is a fast powerful game :) thank you hope this helps if your a car nut BUY IT .... each car has its own cock pit paintscheeme dash lights in dark etc ....

Not a new game on the market, but great value. And the DVD and the case were brand new. I guess you could play this using a keyboard, but to really enjoy your experience you need at least a joystick or better still - a racing steering wheel. Until you've tried one, you don't know what your missing - the game comes alive and is much more realistic. The game installed and played without any problems on my Windolws 7 32 bit machine. And my six year old graphics card - a GeForce 260 - handled the graphics beautifully.

Of the collection of racing sims I have this is best by far. My PC is nearly 7 years old, so it's specification is a bit dated to say the least, yet this runs beautifully on it with decent frame rates and good quality graphics. It's bug free, and it's realism is excellent. A steering wheel with forcefeedback is a must, to really get the feel of this programme.It will be a classic benchmark in years to come. Don't hesitate to buy this if you still haven't got it by now.

Well the first review has really covered it, but the fact they modelled even the fuel slosh, tyre tenperature, and the tyre particles on the track after the first lap etc is nothing short of impressive. This better not have the same business fate as the "giants:citzen kabuto" or I will have to go and buy all the copies myself to make sure I see the sequel :)

i run this on an asus laptop 3.2gh proccesor a gig of ram and 128mb grafics. and its still tottaly dos grafics but the one i got it keeps on returning to windows or crashing.but i think it was because you need more than a 128 grafics card. if your trying to find the key for it take the cover out and look at the back it is there

since i got gtr i haven't played another driving game for more than 5 minutes. GTR is simply amazing. It looks better than all other, it plays better than all others. After playing this for more than five minutes you will never play gran turismo again, GTR is that much better.
