The fit and finish are excellent.Clicks securely onto the A7 body and a Canon EF lens. No play, but also no worries that it is going to jam onto the body or lens. The 'lump' on the bottom is the tripod mounting point and can be removed in seconds when not required. For my EF 17-40 L Canon lens (no guarantees that this will be the case for all models of Canon EF lens, and it definitely doesn't work for some Canon-fit third party lenses (e.g. Sigm, Tamron)):Aperture control of the lens by the body works perfectly.Autofocus is slowish (0.5-1.0 seconds, depending on the subject and the light) but accurate and employs the native multi-point or single point of the A7.Not sure that you'd want to use an adapted lens for sport/wildlife and moving subjects, but it's perfect for my Canon 17-40 where I'm only taking landscape and architecture (and it's a great lens that is a fraction of the price of the equivalent Sony lens).I chose this Fotodiox item (out of the many cheap and expensive adapters) since it is recommended by Brian Smith who is a bit of a guru - check out his website which has a quite authorotative listing of lens adapter options for Sony A7 series cameras.

The silvery ring is used to manually adjust the aperture, and it doses the job. However, due to the design of Nikon lenses only 10 degrees rotation of the ring will change the aperture all the way from minimum to maximum or visa versa, making it fairly difficult to guess what f number has been selected WHEN THERE IS NO MARKINGS ON THE RING. I appreciate that the ring cannot be graduated for every lens that may be used on the adapter, but even a crude Min/Max points or, even better, 5 or 6 clicks would have made the adapter much easier to use.Having said that, I still think it is a good product and with a minor modification will be perfectly usable.

If you have a Canon EOS M and also a Canon EOS DSLR. then this is almost an essential piece of kit. It is very well made, right up to the standard of Canon's own version, which costs over twice as much. I've used it to mount each of my Canon EFS lenses. In particular I used it to mount a 55-250 zoom and used it to video the Swans at Martin Mere, I mounted the combination on a hide clamp, using the tripod bush that's included and found it very easy to use. Indeed it was easier than using the EOS 550D,

Looks identical to the "Canon" branded version but at a fraction of the cost. Only difference I can see is that the printed lettering and symbols on the Canon are whiter and bolder. Otherwise they look the same. The adapter seems to work well for me with EF and EF-S lenses as intended. Focusing with the Canon EOS-M is slightly worse at times but not a major problem. Canon FD and FL lens users should look elsewhere but there is a separate adapter available for them. Recommended.

I use this for my Canon M50 and being a Nikon guy for many years, was happy to know that I could use my Nikon lenses. Be advised, there are no electronic contacts so you do not get autofocus or aperture control from the camera. You need the aperture ring to turn (which the 1.8D has). Works perfectly especially with focus peaking.

Four stars out of five comes from lack of firmly lock to the camera, seems to be loose. But it works OK. Much cheaper than the original. I'll recommend to photographers with lots of EF-lenses and want to use them with the more "portable" EOS M. :-)
